Does a fielding a poor team actually pay? The number of paying fans and pounds per points are only estimates This year Rye have had 18 home matches: Say on average 250 adults @ £16 = £72,000 Say on average 100 concessions @ £14 = £25,200 Say on average 50 children @ £5 = £ 4,500 ------------- £101,700 Rye House riders (with bonuses) have scored 1,268 points @ say £60 per point = £76,080 Edinburgh riders (with bonuses) have scored 1,765 points @ say £60 per point = £105,900 That's a saving of £29,820 so far this season, so the big question to everybody who demands their team to strengthen, can your supporters increase enough to pay for it?

Rye House V Berwick Sunday 24th August

Well that was a coupon buster or what. Not sure if I was delighted with the performance tonight or did it just highlight the abject failure of this team most of the season. -

But if Kennett had riden at Somerset with bad shoulder it would have weakened the teams performance and not given value for money for the paying Somerset supporters. Wether he could have rode or not Kennett is the one Rye rider who deserves NO critisism this season. Starting to worry that after a few iffy results Ryes top six chances are wobbly -

The maths are simple A rider earned 4 times approx. yes FOUR TIMES in Sweden and Poland than England. Ride in Poland on Sunday. Rest and maintain machinery on Monday Ride in Sweden on Tuesday, The riders must laugh at watching the knackered riders rushing to Sweden on Tuesday after riding in England on Monday. They would only need to score 3 more points on Tuesday to cover 12 points in England on Monday. As pointed earlier as great as AJ was at Lakeside or Nikki P at Eastbourne it had very little difference in the crowd levels. Lost some respect in Woofy do put gun against the head of BSPA ( as they are likely to pull the trigger) -

Maybe Lukes testimonial was more important than at first thought as Len had ample proof from the size of thegate last week that the Rye fans still fans are run out of patience with the current "team" and when in Lens world greenbacks have always talked loudly. Now looking forward to the Redcar meeting,. -

The bit I cant understand is all these statements are probably correct:: "Len spent all the money on the air fence" "the foreigners are too expensive" "With this team the crowd will drop from 600 to 400" "when it comes to money Lens not stupid" Well the loss of 200 fans @ £16 per person equates to £3,200 per meeting and with 11 team home meetings left this season that a revenue loss of £35,200. That would easily pay for Mellgren, decent equipment for Boxall (was always going to do well until bike issues arose, I understand he blagged it last season) and perhaps one other. Its easy to say the old boy has "lost it" but he did build Generation Next last year and with Kennett, Mellgren, Asprgren and Nelson (so please keep things balanced) I actually believe he was unlucky to land up in this situation BUT as explained above he CAN still do something about it, I actually think a successful team will do better than 600 and this team will be less that 400. Look at what Somerset did this year when their team plans went a rye (pun intended). Come on Len true fans do know what you have done since 2000 but we don't what to go on the Ronnie Russell Revival Tour of 1993. -

Winning At Redcar, winning AT Rye House a point AT Newcastle, first team to not lose to Edinburgh and you lot do not seem to be quite critical. Take a rain check lads. -

If Bowen (second in our averages) dropped his average by 0.18 he would be a reserve in Somerset team. It would need major surgery such as dropping two of Tres, Bunyan and Bowen to get enough points to acquire a proper second heat leader, but I doubt it will happen. so its soldier on this season and hide behind the sofa when Edinburgh and Somerset come visiting. Yet again well, done Kennett you are surpassing my hopes for you this season and without your scores it would get very ugly, Of course keep our chins up and look forward to next year ( I mean it) but after the plans for this season was to have Mellgren, Aspgren, Garrity and Nelson and a No1 things haven't quite worked out -

Oh Peterborough fans you don't know when you are spoilt, If you are not satisfied with Dryml A then take your pick of riders to do a Keith Chegwins swap shop. How about Bunyan on his 3 +average How about Garrity who is about as reliable as a Politicians promise How about Tres started at 5+ is currently on 5+ and will finish on 5+ How about Lambert S don't know where to start here How about the rudy lot of um I for one would be very happy to "suffer" Dryml A -

Gosh that was tough to take tonight but instead of ranting I would like to thank Bowen on his efforts tonight (how you only had 5 rides is amazing though), After all the injuries you have suffered, you more than anyone have good excuses for not delivering but it was you who put others to shame, thank you. Pontus also did well in scoring paid 14 whilst riding permanently with two fingers of the handlebars and B Kurtz looks the real deal, enjoy it Somerset fans we once had the pleasure of watching the development of a future world champion -
If Uncle Len does not sack Garrity for tonights embarassing performance, come on Len you were mugged tonight and I bet you know it

Robert Lambert Mouthing Off In The Star. Oh Dear.
Rayleigh replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Marcelle, thank you for enlightening me. I forgot a humble fan who pays at the turnstiles (which becomes Lamberts wages) does not count, after all Speedway is awash with fans, matches are normally sold out and Christies the auctioneers are considering having a special day just to sell any left over tickets (an unusual event). I shall return to my insignificant life. -

Clearly the rules were not made up to stop him riding, wait to he has some experience of the BSPA when they make decisions on the "back of a fag packet". I suggests he moves to Poole quickly or he really receive some odd rulings. Once his carear develops and he realises that with a dearth of English GP riders, there is money to be made as an "English hopeful" he will suddenly grow up and return to England. Well Im done with him. Go Cook and Worrall not Lambert -

Would Peterborough fancy him on his very large 5.45 point average but there again there is no synergy between Coventry and Peterborough. Fortunately, speedway is run on "gentlemans word" honour and any such behaviour would be more at home in football.
