Leicester V Rye House 12.08.17
Rayleigh replied to Barrow Boy 2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Oh you lot are bitter, the booing on Thursday was in complete contrast to the warm applause Kennett got at Rye House when he returned with Swindon (and with his 3 point away average for a no 1 probably deserved a different reaction). Even allowing for Kasprzaks score last night we are delighted to have him, 5 away points in 72 hours is just fine and a great improvement on the rest of this season. -

Wasn't trying to make excuses, well done to Leicester and we will move on to Belle Vue. -

Bang on shadders At Poole Barker and Wells scored 19+1, At Leicester Jonasson and r/r scored 9 Sounds like we may have been robbed in Ht 15 but lets not spend 20 pages on the forum navel gazing, congratulate Leicester for fighting to get in the position of taking advantage of some luck (heat 10 at Poole 17 - 43). still think we are favourites for 4th although rider availability will paly a major part in the final positions. -

As Rye House are new to this league, we had no idea of the private grief non Poole fans have had in the past with Poole, whilst 30-60 clearly has struck a nerve it should be mentioned we could have used Kasprzak THREE more times (hard to imagine him dropping any points from what I saw) so the score could have been worse. -

Wow, as a Rye House fan who as put up with bottom of the Championship table dross for some years and just accepted it we feel we have accidently gate crashed a strangers funeral, as I haver never really visited the Premiership board I didn't realise the feelings between Poole and the rest of the league. -

No, your boys got a butt slapping just like Swindon gave us 4 days earlier, except it happens. I wont dwell on Pooles position, I will leave that to the locals who see the riders every week but Rye was sublime I have been waiting all season for the "night" when it all comes together and last night it was, (really feel sorry for the chap stuck in Berwick watching the updates having travelling travelled to hell and back watching the Rockets over the years only to miss the cherry on he cake. Regarding KK I hoped that now he was at a track he was happy he would be good, but boy he far exceeded all expectations and was THE class act on the night (that had to be tough for the Poole fans but that's speedway and Rye fans know whats coming when Kennett comes back to Rye House for the return fixture) If he is 80% of last night for the rest of the season then all bets are off for where this team finishes this season. I am sure Rye House fans had no problems with the road closures on the A35, M3 and M25 as they were travelling home on cloud 9. Finally, good to meet up with you again Startline Sid -

As a Rye House fan and going tonight are there any others going? and where is the best place to stand? -
Despite last nights hammering, Rye are built around a big No 6 Robbo/KK etc (look at the home win v Wolves) not Morley and Priest and whilst we are so far from Swindon right now Fourth place is between Kings Lynn (possibly may not win again all season home or away) and Poole (4 straight HOME defeats) so mock the talk of 4th place so whilst Rye so don't deserve a play off place, first tell me who WILL finish 4th.........exactly no so easy. Another point, there was every chance with the team make up last night against the team bang in form and rain and thunder during the day the promoters still put the match on, no grubby cancellation here, Honourable or Nieve?

I thought Swindon absolutely kept their foot on the gas (picking the guest in ht 15 shows intent) quite rightly they saw the opportunity to make a big statement against a team that they very much could be playing in the play offs

Is This Swindon Team The Best Of Recent Times?
Rayleigh replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As Rye House fan who has see then twice live and on telly once they may not have "the names" of other Swindon teams but there seems to be a spirit that overcomes any adversity, so whether they are best I am not quailed to judge but it depends on your definition of "best" -
Well doth your cap to being beaten by a damn good side, if you have any weaknesses Swindon will find you out and we were at best inconsistent. An on form KK would have made things interesting but it would be a reach to suggest the result would have been different. Morris and BWD don't ride like this in the Championship and Bellego and Ellis must be way past the expectation of the management, so there really is something in the water at Blunsdon this season. Whilst Harris and Nicholls cant be faulted for effort a special mention for Wells and in a smaller way Priest
-
45 -45 Rye need 27 from Wells and Barker and Robbo and 6 (somehow) from Morley. Expect big points from Morris, Kennett, Bellego and Ellis, so Musielak is the big unknown
-
Then all that is left is a Buster Chapman "rain dance"
-
After going to speedway since 1970 another rule I didn't know about, is it me or is it speedway? If we can sneak through this one the playoffs are really on big time,
-
Hopefully Rye House will get Rohan Tungate to replace KK
-
Is this the same Robert Lambert who refused to ride for England some while ago Is this the same Robert Lambert who let down Rye House and other teams Is this the same Robert Lambert who has got history of not returning promptly from meetings abroad when others in the same meetings have done so And is this the same Robert Lambert who will never be forgotten by the Peterboro fans
-
On balance I am with Chapman on this one (didn't think I would ever say that). Clearly the problems at KL was far deeper that the Poole match. The only thing the riders at the top have that is elite is their egos and al last a stand has been made THE SPORT IS BIGGER THAN ANY INDIVIDUAL, yes it will cause some more image issues but in the long run the sport will be stronger if it is not held to ransom by riders.
-
What a silly statement, Leicester are 11 points behind us (they only have 10 all season) we have lost only once at home and that was down to Kennett our "No1" bottling heats 13 and 15. I do though feel that the play offs are just out our reach thanks to being completely stiched up by KL TWICE

King's Lynn V Rye House 19/07/17
Rayleigh replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Given all the sensitivity KL should have asked a local referee to visit the track and confirm near the start time that the track was unfit, in football ONLY the referee calls off the match. Anybody with an once of sense can smell what was happening last night, in fact it now explains why Huckenbeck was not on a flight to England, because the match was never going ahead. -

Even if the points are not awarded to Rye House after this complete joke tonight then if the match must be replayed then KL should be made to field the same team that was planned for tonight -

Apparently somebody at the stadium has spilt a can of coke, this constitutes a puddle so the rain off was justified after all. -

Complete farce AGAIN I urge Mr Jensen to refuse to re-arrange the meeting and if the BSPA quite rightly award us 4 points then fine, if not, well at least we will stop KL the opportunity of getting 3 points and then hope Swindon get the fourth play off place.
