  1. The fact that Special KK has made himself available says a lot about the Rye House attitude for tonights meeting. Expect the good roll to continue.
  2. Time will tell against Swindon, but the Rye House side with KK instead of Luke Priest and also allowing Robbo to drop to reserve is a vastly different team than the one a few weeks ago
  3. A very pleasant and unbiased report on last night and I agree with most. I am sure Somersets policy has always been continue grow but at their pace and not of others. We wish you luck in the future although not tomorrow.
  4. Quite possibly, but lets enjoy the ride as ALL riders falter in the end, we just don't know what that date is. No doubt he is probably temperamental but he has been riding for the Hortons at Coventry and Ford at Poole, maybe just maybe he never felt welcome as much as the "turbo twins" he lives near Rye, there is a great team spirit in the team driven by Nicholls, his Grand Prix days are over, maybe just maybe he has found a home that wants and appreciates him. Time will tell but right now the play offs are in the sights and all bets are off if we get there.
  5. To get 4th is still a tightrope journey but the team is on a roll and I haven't seen such team spirit at Rye House for many a year. Im sure there are two sides to the Poole story foe Special KK (so good they named him twice) but that's two maximums in three meetings and according to Startline Sid he is riding at Somerset instead of practice for the Polish Grand Prix (commitment almost beyond the cause) Back to tonight, the whole team are getting on a roll but again I wish to mention Wells and the effort from Nicholls Prehaps a news signature tune of "Dads army are here to stay" by Elvis Costello, and the rumour is that Poole are considering "No more Heroes" by the Stranglers wink wink.
  6. Well said, I never thought for a moment you meant it.
  7. First glance it looks like all ok except for Barker missing the away match at KL.
  8. A meeting for "big boys" tonight Worrall, Bjerre and Ellis were hit and miss, Cook was stunning and Bewley showed glimpses of for what is to come. Nicholls continues in a rich vein of form but the new reserve was the difference (whisper it in case any Poole fans are listening)There were three questions about KK Has he declined? Is he still motivated? how was he on Ryes track? The answers were NO, YES and FINE.
  9. He rode and won 3 heats last sunday as well. No wish for any protests from last night, we lost move on. But the commitment to British Speedway must be resolved next season, I understand the pay in Poland is sometimes 10 times that of British Speedway but if you wish to ride here YOU MUST DO, if you can earn more elsewhere good luck but don't use us for pocket money, bike and fitness testing.
  10. Oh you lot are bitter, the booing on Thursday was in complete contrast to the warm applause Kennett got at Rye House when he returned with Swindon (and with his 3 point away average for a no 1 probably deserved a different reaction). Even allowing for Kasprzaks score last night we are delighted to have him, 5 away points in 72 hours is just fine and a great improvement on the rest of this season.
  11. Wasn't trying to make excuses, well done to Leicester and we will move on to Belle Vue.
  12. Bang on shadders At Poole Barker and Wells scored 19+1, At Leicester Jonasson and r/r scored 9 Sounds like we may have been robbed in Ht 15 but lets not spend 20 pages on the forum navel gazing, congratulate Leicester for fighting to get in the position of taking advantage of some luck (heat 10 at Poole 17 - 43). still think we are favourites for 4th although rider availability will paly a major part in the final positions.
  13. As Rye House are new to this league, we had no idea of the private grief non Poole fans have had in the past with Poole, whilst 30-60 clearly has struck a nerve it should be mentioned we could have used Kasprzak THREE more times (hard to imagine him dropping any points from what I saw) so the score could have been worse.
  14. Wow, as a Rye House fan who as put up with bottom of the Championship table dross for some years and just accepted it we feel we have accidently gate crashed a strangers funeral, as I haver never really visited the Premiership board I didn't realise the feelings between Poole and the rest of the league.
  15. No, your boys got a butt slapping just like Swindon gave us 4 days earlier, except it happens. I wont dwell on Pooles position, I will leave that to the locals who see the riders every week but Rye was sublime I have been waiting all season for the "night" when it all comes together and last night it was, (really feel sorry for the chap stuck in Berwick watching the updates having travelling travelled to hell and back watching the Rockets over the years only to miss the cherry on he cake. Regarding KK I hoped that now he was at a track he was happy he would be good, but boy he far exceeded all expectations and was THE class act on the night (that had to be tough for the Poole fans but that's speedway and Rye fans know whats coming when Kennett comes back to Rye House for the return fixture) If he is 80% of last night for the rest of the season then all bets are off for where this team finishes this season. I am sure Rye House fans had no problems with the road closures on the A35, M3 and M25 as they were travelling home on cloud 9. Finally, good to meet up with you again Startline Sid
  16. As a Rye House fan and going tonight are there any others going? and where is the best place to stand?
  17. Despite last nights hammering, Rye are built around a big No 6 Robbo/KK etc (look at the home win v Wolves) not Morley and Priest and whilst we are so far from Swindon right now Fourth place is between Kings Lynn (possibly may not win again all season home or away) and Poole (4 straight HOME defeats) so mock the talk of 4th place so whilst Rye so don't deserve a play off place, first tell me who WILL finish 4th.........exactly no so easy. Another point, there was every chance with the team make up last night against the team bang in form and rain and thunder during the day the promoters still put the match on, no grubby cancellation here, Honourable or Nieve?
  18. I thought Swindon absolutely kept their foot on the gas (picking the guest in ht 15 shows intent) quite rightly they saw the opportunity to make a big statement against a team that they very much could be playing in the play offs
  19. As Rye House fan who has see then twice live and on telly once they may not have "the names" of other Swindon teams but there seems to be a spirit that overcomes any adversity, so whether they are best I am not quailed to judge but it depends on your definition of "best"
  20. Well doth your cap to being beaten by a damn good side, if you have any weaknesses Swindon will find you out and we were at best inconsistent. An on form KK would have made things interesting but it would be a reach to suggest the result would have been different. Morris and BWD don't ride like this in the Championship and Bellego and Ellis must be way past the expectation of the management, so there really is something in the water at Blunsdon this season. Whilst Harris and Nicholls cant be faulted for effort a special mention for Wells and in a smaller way Priest
  21. 45 -45 Rye need 27 from Wells and Barker and Robbo and 6 (somehow) from Morley. Expect big points from Morris, Kennett, Bellego and Ellis, so Musielak is the big unknown
  22. Then all that is left is a Buster Chapman "rain dance"
