  1. I know Rye have struggled away so I will be happy with a 6 point defeat, then if we win out we should qualify on race points difference
  2. Belle Vue looks great but I already miss Peterboro, these are the only ones who get close to the old Hackney Wick.
  3. Is Brady Kurtz in the same meeting and is he also riding at Somerset on Friday?
  4. I am sorry Steve you haven't understood the issue, We want Chris to ride for us because he is a part of our team (and he want to as well) not because we are a win at allcosts club. To prove this point I believe Belle Vue missing Steve Worrall is a bigger loss that Chris for Rye House but I still would rather bother teams be at full strength tonight even if it lessens our chances of winning. Its not a dig but if Holder is missing your match at Somerset so he can get his best bikes abroad for an individual competition then I think the Poole fans are being short changed big time.
  5. Al last the semblance of a sensible decision. At least the best team will now make the playoffs and by accident, this may be the evening when Kings Lynn have loads of supporters all evening.
  6. All of these are big 'ifs' with Belle Vue away and Swindon home to come but even by the shabby standards of the top tier allowing Poole the chance of a win at Lynn but denying the Rockets the same chance would be disgusting. Spot on, surely the BSPA wont allow this farce to happen if only because their treasured BT contract due is to be decided shortly. What I don't understand is that if the "cut off" has been extended to the 6th Sept, why not ride on the 6th which is a Wednesday and the KL home night, after all the 1st leg of the playoffs are not due to be ridden to the 18th Sept. Clearly something fishy is going on and after Busters 28 July actions, giving Poole a playoff place would be a peace offering.
  7. Credit where credits due I thought you were taking the "10" count after our match at Poole but whilst you still are staggering on with close wins (Wolves were missing Masters and Riss M) and today (BV were missing Fricke and "Bjerre")you are like a dog clinging on to a trouser leg and although the way we are riding at home it should be a clear home win I for one are more than a little concerned you may at least nick a point.
  8. Rye House Home Poole - massive match although Rye are very hot at home at the moment Kings Lynn - home win Swindon - totally different situation than 4 weeks ago and will no doubt influence Swindon choice if Rye House do finish fourth but still hard to bet against Swindon anywhere Leicester - despite last night I Rye House lose this one we don't deserve 4th place Away Belle Vue - up to last night thought this was a long shot but now hope for at least a point Kings Lynn - away win Poole Home Belle Vue - dangerous match for Poole despite last two matches at home, Belle Vue for some reason are far harder away from Manchester Kings Lynn - home win Away Rye House - see above Kings Lynn - away win Somerset - toss a coin for this result could be anything Just to cloud the picture even more if Rye House beat Poole by 9 points on Monday both teams have the same race points. Simple really
  9. There are going to be many twists and turns next week and maybe Kasprzaks heat 15 win salvaging us a point might turn out to be valuable. By the way Steve enjoyed your company tonight Startline
  10. Well done Somerset yet another gutzy performance (any chance of a repeat next week)
  11. Back Rye House v Poole, Mr Shovlar I have to say I am more confident tonight than I am about Monday. I for one felt that you didn't ride as bad as 30-60 looked and I think with a fit again Brady Kurtz there are a number of reasons why Monday is very much a banana skin for Rye. The Rye fragile pairing is Harris (Rye is so not his type of track) and Barker although Wells and he whos name should not be mentioned to a Poole fan are absolutely flying, in the end I think you need to look at Robbo v Lahti for the final result. At the end I will be relieved to win by 7.
  12. When you said "cant be as bad" nobodys suggesting 60 - 30, after all, we are not riding at Poole again are we? I have always had a fair amount of respect for Somerset, and the club is still progressing albeit at its own pace, If I have got it wrong about a good night for the Rockets (boy have we taken some hammerings in the past here) I will happily return to the forum to eat a big slice of humble pie, but the form Nicholls, Wells KK and Robson are in at the moment and that doesn't include Bomber it should be an interesting night.
  13. Predicting results is always risky and if Somerset win fair play to them, but trust me you are meeting us at exactly the wrong time with most of our team in thier form of the season right now, if you had met us three weeks ago it would have been a home banker but I think you may be in for a surprise.
  14. The fact that Special KK has made himself available says a lot about the Rye House attitude for tonights meeting. Expect the good roll to continue.
  15. Time will tell against Swindon, but the Rye House side with KK instead of Luke Priest and also allowing Robbo to drop to reserve is a vastly different team than the one a few weeks ago
  16. A very pleasant and unbiased report on last night and I agree with most. I am sure Somersets policy has always been continue grow but at their pace and not of others. We wish you luck in the future although not tomorrow.
  17. Quite possibly, but lets enjoy the ride as ALL riders falter in the end, we just don't know what that date is. No doubt he is probably temperamental but he has been riding for the Hortons at Coventry and Ford at Poole, maybe just maybe he never felt welcome as much as the "turbo twins" he lives near Rye, there is a great team spirit in the team driven by Nicholls, his Grand Prix days are over, maybe just maybe he has found a home that wants and appreciates him. Time will tell but right now the play offs are in the sights and all bets are off if we get there.
  18. To get 4th is still a tightrope journey but the team is on a roll and I haven't seen such team spirit at Rye House for many a year. Im sure there are two sides to the Poole story foe Special KK (so good they named him twice) but that's two maximums in three meetings and according to Startline Sid he is riding at Somerset instead of practice for the Polish Grand Prix (commitment almost beyond the cause) Back to tonight, the whole team are getting on a roll but again I wish to mention Wells and the effort from Nicholls Prehaps a news signature tune of "Dads army are here to stay" by Elvis Costello, and the rumour is that Poole are considering "No more Heroes" by the Stranglers wink wink.
  19. Well said, I never thought for a moment you meant it.
  20. First glance it looks like all ok except for Barker missing the away match at KL.
  21. A meeting for "big boys" tonight Worrall, Bjerre and Ellis were hit and miss, Cook was stunning and Bewley showed glimpses of for what is to come. Nicholls continues in a rich vein of form but the new reserve was the difference (whisper it in case any Poole fans are listening)There were three questions about KK Has he declined? Is he still motivated? how was he on Ryes track? The answers were NO, YES and FINE.
  22. He rode and won 3 heats last sunday as well. No wish for any protests from last night, we lost move on. But the commitment to British Speedway must be resolved next season, I understand the pay in Poland is sometimes 10 times that of British Speedway but if you wish to ride here YOU MUST DO, if you can earn more elsewhere good luck but don't use us for pocket money, bike and fitness testing.
