Leicester V Wolverhampton 29 March
Panthers89 replied to TMW's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So if we can win at Leicester and Wolves cant.... does that mean we are still better than the Wolfs..... Not to bad so far, and a lot better coverage than I thought it would be. -
Eastbourne V Birmingham 29/3/2014
Panthers89 replied to Sophies Mate's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I suppose that's true, but regarding the foreigners in the Premier League at reserve, there really isn't that many compared to other years now, most are british. Fact is, there really wont EVER be enough good quality british riders to share around ALL the teams, so your always going to have teams then who are weakened through no fault of there own. I don't even think Compton is a draft rider, so hence the cheaper comment! -

Atleast some of the foreigners have a bit of talent though, and add something to the league. Lets face it, 10% of the current 'reserves' will make it in the Elite League, the rest wont make the cut IMO. -

Benji Compton isn't even a decent national league rider.... probably the worst one out of the 'Elite' Picks. Still.... must be cheap. -
Tuesday brings the challenge of the Somerset Rebels, and potential to be a belter. Rebels have Morris and Allen who go well around the EOES, Aspergan shouldn't do too bad either. Looking forward to watching Brady Kurtz aswell. I'm going to go for a 51-42 home win, think the extra few meetings we have had will really help.

What a shocking line up for Birmingham.... going to be a tanking. -
Peterborough V Plymouth - 25th March (plc)

Agreed, as a come back meeting, it was quite impressive. As a reserve, or even as a second string to start with, is certainly worth it on his average. -

Agreed.... could only manage a few heats, then moved somewhere else, moved to about 5 different positions in the end. It's good as you can see the lines open up before the riders, so make it interesting to watch -

Alright Kalle did well BUT.... He did lose against our 2 young reserves in the first heat, and only made ground on the last lap. he won his 2nd heat from making a good gate and greenwood closed in on him, and heat 8, was clear but with a lap to go, blackbird made a good 15 metres on him, so even though he scored 7 points from 3 (exc tr) he wasn't THAT good. But compared to the rest of what Plymouth had apart from Newman who was good value, he looked a contender to be a world champion. -

Sun's coming out, and no rain forecasted (touch wood) so bring on the Devils, and Barker. -

Guessing: Fisher, Blackbird, Lasse, Ulrich, Ales, Jacobs and Greenwood Barker, Benko, Newman, Jensen, Simota, Reade and Katajisto On paper they have one of the strongest reserves in Kalle BUT cant see him being a threat, infact apart from Jensen who is a talent, and Barker occasionally don't see much of a threat at all. Aslong as we don't get complacent, can see a 57-35 home win. Hopefully everyone 'roughs' Barker up, and damage his ever growing ego before the season even starts. -
I think you need to do something before September, as otherwise them playoffs will be out of reach. What did he say he was worried about? Missed that tbh. On his day, a great all action rider, and one I wanted around the EOES, so hope he gets his head sorted.
-
Ill give it a month and if no improvement from Proctor, the chop could be heading his way. A question, would you quite happily have a rider who isn't doing the job for the team, and not scoring the points, or would you sack him, and get a rider in who could score points and push you up the table.... I know what I'd prefer, and that's silverware, and currently with Proctor riding like this, your going to get no where near anything. Still, its pre-season, he MIGHT come good.
-
I don't want Coventry at Peterborough, its our track, not Coventry, hence why hope the situation gets sorted, and sorted quickly.
-
Well IF Coventry did move to Peterborough, it will make you even stronger I reckon, as all your riders ride the EOES well. BUT I hope for the fans that things get sorted.

Elite League Draft Riders
Panthers89 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Reckon Olly Greenwood will be in high demand come the time when draft system extends its riders. Great start to the season, and has the qualities certainly to beat the other draft riders, as he has shown already. -

Good win for the Panthers, and a great showing from Jacobs, Greenwood and Ostergaard. Premier League 1, Elite League 0. -

Best seats I've ever had are Middle Tier front row on start finish line. Also gone right to the top before, and you can really sense the atmosphere from up there. -

Think we could beat the Elite League side tonight, shame its not the proper Panthers though. -
Agreed.... I'd say that IF it was too happen, Wright has to be the man to go for me, as would mean pushing Kurtz down to reserve, and could be a potential trump card.

Kevlars cost 6000 pounds for the whole 1-7, tailored and fitted.
