berwick bandits 2019
crescent girl replied to concessionscol's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Leon Flint will be second reserve for the GP Challenge event at Glasgow tomorrow. Fully deserved after his efforts last weekend. -
Ryan Douglas obviously can't guest for Scorpions as he's replacing Jensen, but l'd suggest the home side can aim a bit higher for their guest and invite Stevie Worrall to return to the colours.

I agree with Fromafar. Which is unusual, but..... The injuries have kneecapped the team, which has lost the early-season zest as a direct result. The extra meetings for Spud and NBJ (and Leon) are taxing and -- most importantly, as identified -- the club is run on the strictest of budgets in order that we can continue having speedway. The recent sweeps around town on Saturdays, plus school tickets and free drinks show the promotion are busting their guts to keep the show going and those who want, and want to support, speedway in Berwick have to applaud their enthusiasm. Next meeting isn't for a fortnight, the visitors will be Edinburgh (a promotion backed financially by their supporters to a massive degree) and we have to hope Bandits' injuries will have eased and the team spirit (in the pits and on the terraces) is revitalised. Enjoy your speedway!

Sounds as though Hans Andersen might be MIA. Although the Danes have a few handy lads to stick in -- maybe Rasmus Jensen? -

I think they have -- you can now get a guest for any of top five -- but as I suspect your question might have been prompted by Kevin Doolan being 4th in Bandits' averages this month, you needn't worry, he's moved up to third in the pile as from June 1st. Meaning that, for r/r on Saturday, Bandits can use everyone except Spud for the skipper's races. -

No news on the full line-up at Glasgow? -
You can do it with Management Committee's blessing. 'Nuff said?

Charles Wright will certainly prove a (very) secret weapon for Bandits, but we do respect Trevor Geer as an excellent team manager. -

Very Impressive gesture by Facennas, as they'll presumably have to reimburse FIM for each ticket! -

As l wasn't in the country, l used Twitter to get blow-by-blow results on Saturday night. Did the job fine. Much faster than Proboards too, of course. If you want to know the race results even more quickly, you need to actually go to the meeting. -

Well, on the positive side, in 51 years of half a dozen promotions the only time the Bandits have failed to complete their league programme was the result of direct action by the-then Edinburgh owner (Parker) and not the promotion's willingness to go the distance. -
Love the term 'vigilante supporters'................

His average will change (without waiting for a cut-off date) immediately he has completed four home/four away official (League and Shield only -- not KO Cup) matches. Might be a wee while yet?

Edinburgh v Glasgow 26/4/19 @7.30pm
crescent girl replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Re-run to be staged May 24th. BSPA getting tough? This means Sheffield's visit to Armadale's deferred, and Glasgow (who were supposed to be at home to Scunny) now don't have a home match that night. -
Edinburgh are running off-night this Saturday to accomodate Scunthorpe and complete their KO Cup quarter-final tie. May 31st was assumed to be the date to re-run the CS meeting, but if Glasgow can't make it then, maybe another off-night meeting can be arranged. It is certainly in the best interest of our sport, and our League's credibility, to push on with this last qualifier and allow the semi-finals to be organised as quickly as reasonably possible. PS: Is this all that relevant to the Newcastle/Glasgow thread?

Shoulder damage -- to ligaments, not collar-bone.
