  1. If you can find such a rider who is available on Sunday's.....
  2. In the same programme it said the Trust had now given the promotion over £100,000 since 2015....
  3. He didn't ride at Redcar. Never turned up. Just rode one home match.
  4. Right then, attack the post, not the poster: The above post is untrue and harmful. IMHO
  5. Yep, nothing new, and no financial cushion to fall back on. Oh, for the big-city sponsors and the clout of a Trust like Edinburgh's giving their promotion over £100,000 since 2015 (to quote last night's programme). At Berwick, with only 10% of the population the city clubs around them enjoy in their catchment area, the various promotions have done wonders to keeping the club alive for fifty years.
  6. Jordy Stewart (and probably others) will be overseas, in the World U21 semi-final. On a positive note, r/r gives you Spud, Kevin, Jye and maybe Coty at Brough -- still enough to take the polish off the Diamonds, bumps or no bumps!
  7. Do you really mean 'better racing' or just 'more passing, because of mistakes'? The sight of riders going flat out around the Shielfield third/fourth bend is, for me, absolutely fabulous.
  8. Kevin Doolan's weekly blog on club website has some interesting info about processional races at the Fours, citing the silencers of the past few years meaning that quality riders on a well-prepared track can't makes passes.
  9. Rule was changed when it was realised you'd stay away until the re-run at least.
  10. You weren't at the Scottish Open, then? Quite apart from Theo carrying a higher CMA than either of them. But the question was put to Lygonlad, from whom we'll await an answer.....
  11. Tapes Up were filming the FIM Challenge meeting for a dvd....
  12. Good to watch Kevin Doolan coming a good third in tonight's Scottish Open Championship!
  13. Not just as clinical as that of -- the extra people, even if not quite "17-over-10" will buy programmes (handy profit in every copy) plus food and drink. Track shop sales will go up, and of course there is the intended bonus of lapsed and/or new customers liking their night out and coming back for more on future Saturdays. While going down to £10 this week is a breathtakingly bold leap by the young promoters, it really has to be applauded and supported by everyone who really wants to see speedway continuing in Berwick. What now has to happen is that everyone "tells a friend" about the deal, highlights the thousands of posters and fliers around the borders and urges folk to takes the opportunity to come along, bring the kids and savour the occasion. Get a buzz going around town and keep that buzz going on the night -- let's have some fun while we're enjoying the show! PS: Negative posters need not reply
  14. Leon Flint will be second reserve for the GP Challenge event at Glasgow tomorrow. Fully deserved after his efforts last weekend.
  15. Ryan Douglas obviously can't guest for Scorpions as he's replacing Jensen, but l'd suggest the home side can aim a bit higher for their guest and invite Stevie Worrall to return to the colours.
  16. Blooming 'eck, now I find I'm agreeing with balderdash&piffle! Bottom line -- it is home scoring that entertains the vast majority of spectators at any speedway.
  17. I agree with Fromafar. Which is unusual, but..... The injuries have kneecapped the team, which has lost the early-season zest as a direct result. The extra meetings for Spud and NBJ (and Leon) are taxing and -- most importantly, as identified -- the club is run on the strictest of budgets in order that we can continue having speedway. The recent sweeps around town on Saturdays, plus school tickets and free drinks show the promotion are busting their guts to keep the show going and those who want, and want to support, speedway in Berwick have to applaud their enthusiasm. Next meeting isn't for a fortnight, the visitors will be Edinburgh (a promotion backed financially by their supporters to a massive degree) and we have to hope Bandits' injuries will have eased and the team spirit (in the pits and on the terraces) is revitalised. Enjoy your speedway!
  18. Sounds as though Hans Andersen might be MIA. Although the Danes have a few handy lads to stick in -- maybe Rasmus Jensen?
