  1. He also won more races than Bomber, or Stevie Worrall.....
  2. Covatti is listed as riding in this one, Plymouth will have a guest for Newman, riding at No 4. Troy Batchelor will guest for Poole, Tom Brennan is listed as missing on "Polish League duties"
  3. Berwick do, so do Edinburgh, Oxford and Birmingham. There may be more.
  4. On Saturday, all riders had transponders, the system was used throughout and worked well (and accurately). The automatic start system was NOT in use. What you have "heard" about transponder timing is nonsense. Times at all tracks correspond accurately with old watches, when also used, with any discrepancies usually the result of human frailties on the watches. The only track to move their start line this year (as far as I am aware) is Berwick, and of course the transponder sensors were moved too. I can only suggest you have your "hearing" checked.......
  5. Here’s something just in: A good friend, who had been planning to take a party of friends to the Speedway of Nations event at Belle Vue in July, now finds they cannot make it. They had early-booked three rooms in the Travelodge at Warrington Lowton for Friday, July 12th (although the SoN is spread over most of the week, the big nights are the Friday and Saturday, so staying overnight on Friday was the obvious plan). The bookings are for standard Travelodge rooms, the place is about 17 miles from Belle Vue – and comprise two twin rooms, each £30, plus a triple room at £36. Why tell you all this? Well, these are paid-for at early-bird prices, the Manchester area is swamped by a lot more than speedway that weekend and if you were thinking about making the Friday/Saturday meetings, to book Friday-night accommodation even now, a couple of months before the meetings, would be much, much pricier. Thus, and this is where. we cut to the commercial: Our friend is willing to pass these rooms (one, two or all three) at cost to any supporters who might want to be down at the SoN and might think about the Friday night stopover. Get this, they might even be prepared to cut an even-better deal if you ask nicely! To enquire, discuss, or make an offer, phone 07503-540236. First come, first served.......
  6. Such posts are damaging to the club's (and BSN's) business, you really should add that it's only your opinion... Until the club posts to the contrary, your meeting is on....
  7. This being the thinking that closed Derwent Park?
  8. He was mentioned some weeks ago. Did he have a closed-door trial at Ashfield recently?
  9. The difference is that Lewi raced a full meeting at Scunthorpe last night, and although tonight's crash has aggravated the former injury, it is not be considered a withdrawal because of coming back too soon.
  10. To put this one to bed: The referee is required to take the result of a close finish from transponders (when installed) as he has no choice. Rule 02.2.11 h) " Where provided, the referee MUST use start/finish line technology approved by the SCB" Thus, whatever people in various parts of a stadium may believe, if there are transponders in operation, the referee has to take the information provided to him/her as the official result of a close finish. End of.
  11. I can understand that footage from an in-house stream might be considered as possibly being tilted in one direction or another. BSN and Eurosport can be talked as 'neutral' in coverage.
  12. Isn't it Brexit that has dammed the flow of new riders, rather than the SCB?
  13. I wasn't there, and have no opinion on the evidence of eyesight from wherever in the stadium. But I have to challenge your suggestion that transponders are "wrong too often". My belief is that, in GPs, in the UK and at every back-street go-kart track for twenty years and more, transponders are accurate and reliable. When have they ever been proved wrong?
  14. It isn't just "Scottish football" - - a bit more important than that.....
  15. The Poole trophy-winning machine steamrollers into Shielfield on Saturday, doubtless as confident as ever of their Pirates heading for another title. They do look mighty strong, but this year there's a bit of muscle in the new-look Jewson Bandits too, so we'll just have to wait and see. Not long to wait, and the meeting has every chance of being another Shielfield stormer! With recent very welcome Guest Richard Lawson on the other side of the pits this week, Edinburgh's Joshie Pickering -- who was a more-than-impressive leader for the Monarchs at Shielfield last month -- steps in for the still-injured Lewi Kerr. The scraps between the two Number Ones could be worth the entrance money alone! Regarding that entrance money, as usual, if you book your e-tickets before midnight on Friday you get yourself a 10% discount. All accompanied children under 16 are admitted free. Cash only at the turnstiles, but e-tickets can still be purchased on-line (more likely, on-phone) right up to starting time Tickets from https://www.berwickspeedway.com/tickets/ Teams: Berwick Jewsons Bandits (powered by Keenwood Karpets)1 Joshie Pickering 8.80 (Guest)2 Danyon Hume 4.933 Jye Etheridge 5.764 Drew Kemp 5.525 Rory Schlein 7.73 (Captain)6 Freddie Hodder 2.007 Bastian Borke 4.30Manager: Stewart DicksonPoole ‘Wessex Marine’ Pirates1. 16. Promotion have a "facility" to replace him until May 17th.
