  1. This is pretty awful stuff for "The best league in the world"
  2. What is the regulation on social distancing in Poland, do we know? All I heard was that stadiums could admit 25% of capacity. While I would have thought the audience would be required to wear masks and socially-distance (1 metre, 2 metres, who knows?) do we know, or just assume they should be kept apart like some, only some, other nations.
  3. Is there a point at which they can declare a result?
  4. Does it always rain on Fridays in Poland, causing these very early postponements, or are there other reasons?
  5. The instructions regarding (even reduced) social distancing, masks and the like will be laid down by the local H&S, not the clubs. The clubs will be required to police the instructions, which may well vary from stadium to stadium - perhaps obligatory masking in seated grandstands, not on open terraces - - and the councils will have people at meetings to ensure the requirements are complied with. If spectators refused to obey a club's directions, and the local authority felt strongly enough, speedway at that venue might be shut down. So, if we are able to get some meetings on, and spectators behave as if they are on Bournemouth beach or Liverpool, they'll be the ones to blame if they lose it again.
  6. Glasgow correctly identified their double problem of having almost the whole team living overseas and their stadium (while very well-appointed) being very compact, meaning social distancing would make it impossible to admit a paying audience. This may also be true at other stadia, while others again might, indeed will, be able to run to a worthwhile, socially-distanced crowd.
  7. I rather think they know a good bit more than you, mate...
  8. Technically it would by the H&S depts of local authorities, acting in accordance with government policy.
  9. Nasty ending, which was a pity, but of the matches so far that's been the best racing. I thought the track shape probably helped, not quite as round-and-flat-out as the other Polish tracks they've shown. Dare I say, ever so slightly more technical?
  10. Is it just me, or do there seem to be far more accidents on the straights in Poland than in UK?
  11. Crowd are noticeably more socially-distanced, and more wearing masks -- is it possible the authorities were watching TV yesterday, and issued a warning?
  12. Is it? A spike in viral infections and they'll be closed down right away. I would think the Polish health authorities will have been watching this behavious, and will be issuing some very strict instructions regarding future behaviour.
  13. Not boring at all. More action in this one than all the previous matches put together. Guys wiping out partners, all sorts of fun!
  14. Thank you. Although I suspect the money might come into it, too!
  15. What's with the 'number plate' the riders hold when they're being interviewed?
  16. I think even the wild cards have to be nominated by a federation, to be considered by the FIM for inclusion.
  17. It is possible/probable that Poland would prefer to nominate "real Poles" for selection, rather than "flag of convenience" carpetbaggers. Poland putting Chuganov forward would be like the ACU pushing Rory Schlein into a GP as the British representative. It might be official and legal, but Poland is a very proud nation, and might fight shy of making such a move.
  18. Let's see if he can manage to do the same with Madsen........
