  1. As announced last night, Bandits will return to Poole on June 29th. Weather permitting.
  2. If this meeting can get anywhere close to the excitement provided (for a tenner!) at the last NDL match at Berwick, it'll be well-worth watching. Plus, the NJL follow-up has interest, with Stene Pijper adding to the family adventures on the Berwick side, and Redcar's Katie Gordon showing that girls just wanna have fun, too!
  3. The top two in the NDL table go head-to-head at Shielfield on Saturday! Bullets: 1 Kyle Bickley, 2 Mason Watson, 3 Ace Pijper, 4 Greg Blair, 5 Luke Crang, 6 Kieran Douglas, 7 Ben Rathbone Royals: 1 Alfie Bowtell, 2 Jamie Halder, 3 Danno Verge, 4 Joe Alcock, 5 Ben Morley, 6 Chris Watts, 7 Sam Wooley. As well as the NDL racing, there will be an NJL mini-match, festuring Berwick's Academy youngsters and Redcar Cubs. All for a tenner! Which means you get 21 heats for your money at less than 50p per race! Bring it on!
  4. Distance of opposition? Berwick were at Plymouth last night, hardly a mammoth journey!
  5. Why should anyone have no interest in watching their future Lions?
  6. So was Connor Bailey (described as 'guest' in their pre-publicity) while Austria's Dany Gappmaier was a guest for Germany. I dont think it was an official meeting in any stretch of the imagination.
  7. Club has been waiting for latest medical reports, but neither will be available this Saturday against Redcar. Rider-replacement will cover for Leon, and Lee Complin comes in at reserve for Ty. Chris Harris has been selected (along with Lambert, Bewley and Ellis, Tom Brennan the reserve) for the British team to ride in the European Team Championship event at Poznan at the weekend, and Nick Morris will guest at #1 for the FTS Bandits. Luke Crang will be #8.
  8. Some weekend for speedway! Moans from Leicester about poor racing on a dodgy surface -- and l'll draw a veil over Newcastle's misfortunes.... Meanwhile, Berwick staged a near-perfect meeting. It CAN be done.....
  9. Quite a remarkable jump -- Ace goes from an assessed average of 3.00 to 7.58 in one fell swoop! Mason Watson has also improved impressively, up from 3.91 to 5.75 -- and his sterling performance at Oxford will increase him again. The new averages kick in after tonight's meeting -- Ben and Kieran will be reserves against Kent on May 21st.
  10. With the GHT Bullets currently sitting proud at the top of the NDL table, the team most-predicted to win the league arrive at Shielfield on Saturday. The Berwick public have been spoiled by their last two CL meetings -- with the ever-present uncertainty of the NDL lads, this could be a barn-stormer! Adults: £10, Concessions/OAPs/Students: £10, Juniors (12-15 years): £3, Children (under 12): £1 Car parking: Free GHT Bullets: 1 Kyle Bickley, 2 Kieran Douglas, 3 Greg Blair, 4 Ben Rathbone, 5 Luke Crang, 6 Mason Watson, 7 Ace Pijper Cool Running Colts: 1 Jack Smith, 2 Sam McGurk, 3 Nathan Ablitt, 4 Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, 5 Harry McGurk, 6 Archie Freeman, 7 Freddy Hodder Predictions, folks?
  11. The silencer was ruled illegal when examined after the race, so the complaint was valid. However although the referee agreed it was illegal when he visited the pits, it couldnt be proved the damage occurred before or during the race, so no case could be answered. Even if it had been thrown out, Berwick would still lose 45-44, so no point in taking it further
  12. I think everyone in the stadium was looking forward to Bomber and Lee crossing swords in Ht 15. A lesson to the team managers who like to have their reserves swapping programmed rides?
  13. I think they were saving Lee for ht 15. For which he didnt qualify, since they'd taken him out of two programmed rides!
  14. It's the same thing in that his average cannot "roll" without previous matches in the same league.
  15. Team will change for Tigers. Broc Nicol to reserve, Danyon Hume goes up?
  16. Another visit from Berwick's nearest and dearest rivals, who usually find something extra for the derbies. Jye Etheridge's last match as reserve, and Diamonds bring in the Glasgow captain to ride at #1. First NJL mini-match to follow main event - Berwick Academy v JCM Sapphires. No extra charge! FTS Bandits: 1 Chris Harris, 2 Ty Proctor, 3 Theo Pijper, 4 Leon Flint, 5 Ricky Wells, 6 Jye Etheridge, 7 Kyle Bickley AFS Diamonds: 1 Ulrich Ostergaard, 2 Matty Wethers, 3 James Wright, 4 Max Clegg, 5 Paul Starke, 6 Lee Complin, 7 George Congreve
  17. Do they race in the afternoons? Or is it a public holday?
  18. Doesnt count if he's not riding as a guest. If you mean can he race within 8 days.
  19. The rule hasn't changed in at least a dozen years. 012.4.2(c): A rider may ride as a guest at a track (regardless of team) only once in an 8-day period, unless he is replacing the home team's No 1. Thus, Richard Lawson (to pick a name at random) can ride at No 1 for Plymouth at home every week for as long as Eddie Kennett is out (unless Eddie's CMA is overtaken by another Gladiator) and again in every away match unless he had been a guest at that track the previous week.
