  1. Magnificent achievement to sell out, nearly a fortnight ahead of opening night. A similar attendance for the visit of the champions a week on might be expected, too!
  2. Sandhu calling someone else corrupt? Isn't that the pot calling the kettle, er, black?
  3. Spring is here, the wee animals are getting frisky and everyone's rummaging in their hall cupboards, looking for their speedway jackets and woolly headgear! On the first night, it's all new. Everything to play for. Every rider knows his average will rise like one of Mary Berry's best cakes, and every supporter secretly believes this will be THE year. The first match of the whole Championship campaign starts at seven on Saturday, and is a repeat of last season's opener, which ended up as a big win for the Brummies. This time around, Bomber's on the side of the angels -- but the visitors have recruited the British Champion! It'll be a first-ever presentation by the BSN too -- and with local interest at a healthy level, thanks to the Harris-factor, expect a bumper opening-night crowd. To avoid the queues, e-ticketing is in place per the club website. FTS Bandits: 1 Chris Harris (captain), 2 Ty Proctor, 3 Theo Pijper, 4 Leon Flint, 5 Ricky Wells, 6 Jye Etheridge, 7 Kyle Bickley Curtis Sport Brummies: 1. Claus Vissing, 2 James Shanes, 3 Josh Auty, 4 Ashley Morris (captain), 5 Adam Ellis, 6 Stefan Nielsen, 7 James Pearson Referee: The Dish
  4. Just a reminder -- it's all starting this Friday night! At 7:30pm on Friday (25th) there's the official 2022 Launch Night for FTS Bandits, GHT Bullets and the Academy side -- in the Black & Gold. A donation will be appreciated on entry, all proceeds from the evening will go towards helping young Ryan Renton and his family source the best treatment possible in his fight against cancer. Your Berwick Speedway Promotion and all three teams will be in attendance and we will get to know a bit more about everyone’s ambitions for the upcoming -- and very exciting -- season ahead! Fans are encouraged to arrive early at the Black and Gold as we expect to reach venue capacity. The following evening will see our annual Press & Practice event for all of our teams. Once again everyone will be welcome to come along and stadium entry will be gained by donations helping towards Ryan Renton’s target. We’re getting just a bit excited now folks! #FTSBandits #PoweredBy #KeenwoodKarpets #GHTBullets #ForRyan #LetsDoThis
  5. Indeed, beating Brady Kurtz, NKI and Klindt was very impressive. A very, very classy field for the event.
  6. Well, there's a hissy fit. Your reason for not visiting is because they're offering you free car parking?
  7. Jye Etheridge has served BV well in his spells with the Aces, as his average shows. Leaves a fair figure for your last announcement. Unlike some on here, l believe Mark Lemon is building a good squad, given his employers will have laud down his budget.
  8. I'd think -- but dont quote me -- it is reasonable for a theatre, football club, circus, speedway club to offer reduced prices for pensioners. Anyone not yet elugible for state pension might be presumed ti be working, and therefore able to pay full whack .
  9. I rather think the problem was that two Saturday tracks (Workington and Lakeside) wanted to run extra meetings on Fridays, on nights the three regular Friday tracks already had fixtures set. While this has nowt to do with Oxford (and lets remember the Cheetahs were originally wanting to enter the Premiership as a Thursday club anyway) it needs to be remembered what really was the problem in four years ago.
  10. You started this pish. Want to retract it and apologise?
  11. The British Speedway Network will go live for the first time on April 2nd and the FTS Bandits are honoured to welcome the Birmingham Brummies to Shielfield Park for the groundbreaking first ever, live streamed, Championship Speedway meeting on the new network.
  12. VOLUNTEERS WELCOME THIS WEEKEND! The club will be working at the stadium this weekend, and will welcome any volunteers who can lend a helping hand. Work will involve general repairs, both to the safety fence and in other areas which suffered damage during the recent storms. Volunteers are requested to enter via the pits area.
  13. Well, just a few seasons back, Edinburgh only completed their team when they signed up Claus Vissing at P&P, after he's performed well at the BenFund meeting at Berwick the previous week -- and more recently the same club went into P&P with an open invitation to "any rider who wants to show his worth" to claim their last team spot --- and landed a 16-year-old no-one had heard of, called Dan Bewley.
  14. On a totally-different slant, will speedway be dramatically-changed this year, following Russia's aggression in Ukraine? Already, we are reading that UEFA will be moving their Champions League Final from St Petersburg, and tennis authorities are advising players not to attend competitions in Russia. Two immediate questions arise: Will the Russian GP round take place? And will the World Champion be welcomed to all the GP rounds in other countries?
  15. No-one else had mentioned concession admission - are you suggesting Berwick's £13 is higher than at other tracks? Indeed, does every circuit in this league actually offer a concession to students and OAPs?
  16. But he was in the boilerhouse of the squad, making them solid enough to win the league! I thing Berwick would accept that level of success.....
  17. Not really. Berwick £17 adult, £13 concessions.
  18. But yes if he performs like he did at Workyville in '18, Leicester in '19!
  19. Results elsewhere have no effect on a rider's elegibility to ride in the NDL. He has to have a full UK passport and an ACU licence.
  20. Star is giving Berwick good coverage of late. All we need now is the seasonal review.
  21. Absolutely not! Naming a rider you're talking to, then having to announce he's not going to be available after all (even if no fault of the club) is quite the wrong way to go. Only announce a name when he is signed, sealed and delivered.
