  1. I think everyone in the stadium was looking forward to Bomber and Lee crossing swords in Ht 15. A lesson to the team managers who like to have their reserves swapping programmed rides?
  2. I think they were saving Lee for ht 15. For which he didnt qualify, since they'd taken him out of two programmed rides!
  3. It's the same thing in that his average cannot "roll" without previous matches in the same league.
  4. Team will change for Tigers. Broc Nicol to reserve, Danyon Hume goes up?
  5. Another visit from Berwick's nearest and dearest rivals, who usually find something extra for the derbies. Jye Etheridge's last match as reserve, and Diamonds bring in the Glasgow captain to ride at #1. First NJL mini-match to follow main event - Berwick Academy v JCM Sapphires. No extra charge! FTS Bandits: 1 Chris Harris, 2 Ty Proctor, 3 Theo Pijper, 4 Leon Flint, 5 Ricky Wells, 6 Jye Etheridge, 7 Kyle Bickley AFS Diamonds: 1 Ulrich Ostergaard, 2 Matty Wethers, 3 James Wright, 4 Max Clegg, 5 Paul Starke, 6 Lee Complin, 7 George Congreve
  6. Do they race in the afternoons? Or is it a public holday?
  7. Doesnt count if he's not riding as a guest. If you mean can he race within 8 days.
  8. The rule hasn't changed in at least a dozen years. 012.4.2(c): A rider may ride as a guest at a track (regardless of team) only once in an 8-day period, unless he is replacing the home team's No 1. Thus, Richard Lawson (to pick a name at random) can ride at No 1 for Plymouth at home every week for as long as Eddie Kennett is out (unless Eddie's CMA is overtaken by another Gladiator) and again in every away match unless he had been a guest at that track the previous week.
  9. Richard Lawson will guest for Plymouth in both matches against Scunny
  10. One of a number of great races on Saturday -- I don't even think that was the best! Heat 5 was superb. As for the commentary, I've heard an awful lot worse -- on "real TV" even -- and having two enthusiasts putting words to pictures is no bad thing.
  11. If there is anything positive to be taken from this truly unfortunate occurrence, it is that people in power at the remaining clubs which currently do not employ two paramedic professionals in addition to two ambulances (or one plus an equipped medical room) have been given a very clear heads-up that the next disaster could be at their track. There are private organisations all over the country providing paramedic services . In Central Scotland alone, there are half a dozen! These companies are in business competition with each other, they offer competitive rates (considerably lower than some of the wild guesstimates quoted by previous posters) and I can only imagine several club bosses have been busy over the past few days, obtaining quotations and weighing up options. At least half a dozen circuits I know of (I'm sure there are more) have two-plus-two medical cover, and while other factors can delay or even cancel meetings, at least these clubs can be confident of sparing their customers the avoidable aggravation suffered already this year at Birmingham and Mildenhall. Nigel Tolley and his consortium at Perry Barr (who have already got so much right) have learned a hard lesson -- and I really, really hope they can get their show back on the rails, and push onwards and upwards after last Wednesday's fiasco.
  12. Absolutely nothing wrong with the track on Wednesday, it looked superb. Such a shame what looked like a pretty fair crowd were denied what might have been a cracking match . An expensive lesson for the new consortium.
  13. A very good, constructive post. What's it doing on the BSF?
  14. Another visit from Oxford, whose Chargers provided stiff opposition at NDL level earlier this month -- now here come the big guns! First trip to Shielfield for the Cheetahs since October, 1997 -- when they lost 48-42. Same again, maybe? FTS Bandits (powered by Keenwood Karpets: 1 Chris Harris, 2 Ty Proctor, 3 Theo Pijper, 4 Leon Flint, 5 Ricky Wells, 6 Jye Etheridge, 7 Kyle Bickley Monarch Oxford Cheetahs: 1 Troy Batchelor, 2 Jack Thomas 3 Cameron Heeps, 4 Kyle Newman, 5 Scott Nicholls, 6 Dillon Ruml, 7 Nathan Stoneman
  15. Basso is already playing fast and loose with Britain, missed Peterborough's meeting yesterday -- probably cost them the match -- and while an undoubted talent, might not always be available for his UK clubs......... But Jye Etheridge is hoping to be fit for Birmingham tomorrow.
  16. If the volunteers can work away on little things in and around the venue, and fans see a small improvement to early difficulties each time they visit, support will develop. No music being allowed is something that means ingenuity is required to make sure there are other ways of filling the 'dead air' between races.
  17. Bradley probly doesnt, as he was in National League when he first came over. He'll have some degree of patriality. If George Congreve is also of British stock and can ride for The Geezers without a permit, might he be found an NDL club to boost his track-time, and confidence, as he battles to make his way up the speedway ladder?
  18. Looking at the fixtures/results page of the programme, I realised there is no mention of Devils' matches -- reading that programme, a casual spectator would presume there was no speedway at Armadale on May 8th or June 17th.
  19. BWD is not riding. Diamonds are using r/r at #1 at Glasgow on Friday, but have Chris Harris on Sunday.
  20. He was a hero to ride on, and effectively win the match in Heat 14, if he has a broken leg!
  21. Cannot understand the comments (mainly from some southern posters, l think) about how the current NDL is "devalued"..... In my eyes it's a great league, if Worky and Easty -- dare l add IoW? -- were to join the existing clubs in 2023, it would add even more sparkle. IMHO....
