Luke and brother Dec were both held up from racing in the first half of last season while the UK passport office weren't issuing any passports because all their staff were processing Ukrainian refugees -- it was much the same reason that delayed issue of a work permit/visa to Berwick's Jonas Knudsen. Many people on here may remember Frank Killeen, who was a rambunctious second-halver at Belle Vue and Wolverhampton in the 1980s -- Frank emigrated to Perth during the 1990s and his two sons were born there. Both hold UK nationality, and now have British passports.

Plymouth Gladiators 2023

Now l agree a 16-year-old getting a CL berth isnt always going to mean he'll be winning a GP in five seasons or so (and in Dan's case he had a really bad injury and a Covid year to contend with, too!) but my point was, no-one should be written off as not being up to standard until after he's been given his chance...... -

Something l read -- more or less word-for-word -- when Dan Bewley, Tom Brennan and Leon Flint were introduced to CL racing as very raw, 2-point, 16-year-olds.... All theee raced at the Cardiff GP this year, and one of them even won it! -
While the current (team-building) averages are based on 'last ten' matches, once the season starts won't the rolling averages will go back (thankfully) to a 20-match schedule, as the 10-match thing was dreadful? So, TJ will almost immediately have an average based on the first match with Berwick, plus his last 19 at Scunny or wherever. Roo-Boy's figure will be from Poole's 2021 season, and might rise a tad I'd think that Leon's average over his last 19 might drop initially, as might Jye. Jonas wont get a 'proper' CMA for at least three more outings. Plus, l suspect the two reserves will be ready and willing to each grab their chance in this squad with such a solid 1-5, and with other teams certain to have some less-experienced 2-pointers up against them, each has a fair chance of scoring well enough to duck the chop. The squad has not been created to be changed, this is a solid (old-fashioned if you like) 1-7. Bring it on!

For anyone interested in numbers, I calculate the averages of the FTS Bandits' announced line-up as 39.99.

'Fraid not...... Rowe is 5.08, James W is 5.51 and JJ 4.72. Per the official BSPL list. You got a drawing board to go back to?
-
Your thinking about Mike Hunt!
-
Nope, its all rides in official matches....
-
Jye is 6.29 or so..... Also, won't Lee Complin be stuck back at his assessed 4.00, with his Newcastle results removed?
-
Well, let's have some fun. There are fractionally over ten points left for team-building. Go!

I reckon Paul is now 5.11 (after taking his UK reduction off) -

That would disturb all the millionaires down there. Hope he got himself a really good silencer. -
I was at a Chargers match at Oxford, and there were a lot, lot more than 300 there. I would estimate close to 1,000..….

CHAMPIONSHIP PLANS FOR ’23

I saw no rhyme nor reason for the rolling average to be reduced to ten meetings, which allowed imbalances galore. It should be at least twenty matches, or even more. I'd also like to see the original match scoring, where the home team got a bonus point if they won by more than six, reinstated. Giving an extra point to the visitors only isn't a fair shake of the dice. -
Fair bet it won't be Edinburgh. Nice wee chap, but not the best rider l've ever seen around Armadale.......

Absolutely not. Poole is a well-run, successful, speedway club. Probably the envy of some other promotions in all the leagues Sadly, they are blighted by having a very few, but very outspoken, minority of 'fans' who do them a great deal of harm by alienating easily-led contributors on here. Looking forward to tonight's contest, may the best team win!

Careful, Mac. Don't spoil all the petulant ranting. Looking back, it isn't new. 1980 KO Cup Final, Berwick had to race their 'home' leg at Brough Park. The won the Cup. In 1981, they had to do the same, except they lost to Edinburgh (who ran their leg of the Final in November, due to exceptionally-wet weather in late October). This year, like Berwick in '80/81, Leicester cannot stage their home leg of a play-off -- which in 'normal' weather would have taken place weeks ago. So they are staging it at a circuit which is available for hire. Poole will travel a little further, but where the away leg is raced isn't really their business. In conclusion, it is 100% better to have the play-offs completed than any alternative. Good luck to both sides in what looks like an evenly-balanced match tomorrow.

There will be a little fine-tuning, to take any remaining Newcastle influence from the final tallies. The currently-published 'final' averages will be pretty close to the actual figures, but must be awaited before we can be absolutely certain of every rider's CMA .

Not if its after Oct 31, as season/contracts end then. Leicester will be granted a facility, given what's been allowed in the past when seasons have over-run. As a footnote, even the most rabid BSPL-haters must surely admit that this quite exceptionally-wet October is hardly the fault of the speedway authorities ......
