  1. The annual season Launch Night will take place in the Black & Gold on this Friday (March 24th) -- the fun-filled night where you can hear from, and meet the riders who will be representing Berwick Speedway's teams in 2023! Doors open at 7:30pm and entry will be made by donation. All funds raised will go towards helping our young friend Ryan Renton’s battle against cancer. Half-past seven on Friday, folks!
  2. Isnt that really their own business?
  3. They can donate anyway, the SRBF website is always open..... I'm not sure if there's an advantage in a stream (BSN or any other provider) from a charity event or testimonial, when folk are hopefully going to turn up in person to support the cause.
  4. One big(gish) difference is that the Scunthorpe promotion hold an annual public collection for the SRBF, as do all the BSPA clubs. As far as l'm aware, the NORA club on the IoW doesnt do that.
  5. Absolute crap. The polyfoam fence panels are huge, and very heavy. A speedway bike, or bikes, won't lift them an inch.
  6. Broc has returned home to USA, shipping all his bikes and gear back.
  7. Are there any other UK tracks with Armco barriers which don't have foamfences?
  8. Foamfences don't lift! They are 'way safer than air-fences. The news that Scunny are upgrading to foam is very, very welcome.
  9. Fair play to Ben Barker, turning out again this month for the BenFund to maintain the only 100% record in the series
  10. Connor had been riding junior speedway for five years or so in Australia before coming over to Scotland at 16 to join the Tigers.
  11. Its not any kind of daft idea. Berwick have operated this sort of thing (outside of lockdown) with donations taken at practices for causes such as BenFund and local causes connected with the club for a good few years.
  12. It might aid his case if he said publicly that he didn't agree with the invasion. Also, while having him racing in Britain would be superb, making the public announcement of the proposed signing today of all days was not at all clever.
  13. This is the tip of an iceberg speedway (and every other 'extreme' sport) must face in future. The ban on motorsport in Ulster will force all branches of all disciplines to look hard at their control procedures and all forms of insurance for activities. The ACU/SCB would be remiss if they did not take every prudent step to protect their product, ensure their licences allow speedway in the rest of the UK to continue under properly-controlled, legally-insured conditions.

  15. Owen made good progress last season after linking with Berwick Academy, and has every chance of continuing to improve in 2023.
  16. If it did, it would be 2 down. But it won't, I agree
  17. Hmmm, each side with four guests and r/r? Let's hope, sincerely, that the coming season -- in all three leagues -- is never reduced to anything approaching this sad chaos .......
  18. Getting himself right back in the groove, Rory Schlein raced undefeated in Adelaide tonight to be crowned 2023 South Australian Champion.
