Tbf I believe the plan was to fit him in for Graversen at some point when the rest of the team got proper averages but we let him get some experience at top level when Swindon couldn't fit a rider in (can't remember his name). Besides if Allen and BWD had been at reserve that was over 10pts used just on reserves, that was the other reason he wasn't picked
-
BWD will almost certainly be back at Somerset, he is an asset and May said at the start of the season he only didn't include him so he could get a proper average.
-
Only after his injury he was in the 7s before that. He is a much better rider than 6.09. Lawson is a better option but I can't see May dropping Josh, Kerr, Allen, Wright and i'm sure BWD will be the first rider he will get in the team sheet with Swindon sure to be sniffing. So that would leave only 7.26 for a proper no. 1.
-
I'm sure he would be in the top 10 personally. He has the ability to the best in the league tbf with better guidance behind him which I think he would get at Somerset. No offence to King's Lynn but no rider was going to flourish there this season with a club clearly on a downhill spiral unfortunately.

Would love to have this lineup next season based on current averages. 1. Robert Lambert 7.36 maybe no Doyle/Holder etc next season so would be one of the best in the league and I think he might want a break from King's Lynn next season. Wishful thinking though. 2. Jake Allen 5.07 wouldn't be my choice personally but in with the promotion so i'm certain would be back. 3. Charles Wright 6.63 don't think this needs an explanation really. 4. Patrick Hougaard 6.09 had a rubbish second half of the season but that average is very enticing isn't it. 5. Josh Grajczonek 7.34 has done well but should never be a top flight no. 1 6. Lewis Kerr 5.06 found it hard to start witj but since has been one of the best reserves in the league. 7. BWD 4.67 is our asset and like Wright doesn't need explanation.

Somerset V Wolverhampton 22.9.17

Really? Seeing as we have had riders like Magnus Zetterstrom and the current world no. 1 ride for us. I'd say they are pretty much top drawer. -
Proper no. 1 Jake Allen (wouldn't be my choice but in with the promotion) Wright An other rider Grajczonek BWD is our asset Kerr

Poor attendance? Coming from someone who was there it was an ok attendance and one I'm sure would have been a lot bigger had we not had the amount of rain before hand had been pelting down from around 4 ish onwards. I was convinced myself it was going to be called off. Track was fantastic considering aswell. Credit to the Lions they fought back but annoyed that we let it slip. -
King's Lynn V Somerset 7/8/17(£10 Adults)

Laughable that people still think we (rebels) are weak when look at the scalps we have already taken this season. A win tonight could move us above Lynn and either 6 or 7 points from the play offs with a match in hand to Poole. That doesn't seem weak to me -

If the real Allen shows up and Ellis starts to show his real potential then this could be the best reserve race of the season. -

He's Australian they always blame anyone but themselves, so far he has blamed a motor problem and the track yet everything was fine when he got 17 points 😂 could just be having a laugh as I can't see him saying it to the SS when doesn't he live with Debbie. -
Isn't it now 42 point limit? Hougaard and Wright haven't achieved new averages yet so averages as they are Kerr comes over the 42 average.
-
No Kerr is 5.98 so would not fit atm. Joe Jacobs would be my bet and then a further change when Hougaard and Wright get proper averages.
-
Graversen has been let go from his Fb page.
-
Starke is now bottom of the averages on 4.00 that is a drop of 2.62 and Tungate a drop of 3.89. Changes need to happen by Monday otherwise there is no chance of getting a proper number 1

Belle Vue V Somerset - 1/5/17 , 12pm

Well after listening to Sedgmens comments in the debrief I think someone was a little miffed at losing because this "not very talented" team beat you and "won't pick up any points away" thanks for the points today. Fantastic result for the Rebels against what is the best team in the league, may have missed Bjerre but can argue that Hougaard is very good around NSS as well. -
Somerset Rebels Vs Kings Lynn Stars : 28th April.
SomersetBlue replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Said it last week about Tungate and Starke and stand by it they need to go for us to compete to even consolidate ourselves. Bikes are absolutely terrible and are useless (for Somerset). Everyone else is doing their job and Graversen has picked up. A no.1 and second string and we don't look too bad. -
There will still be some there but it's 3 1/2 hours up there from Somerset and being bank holiday too you can probably add at least an extra half hour at least then the coach would leave another half hour earlier than that, 4 1/2 hours on a bank holiday many people wouldn't want to do that. I'll be there though.
-
Think we have to strengthen! If you look at the BSPA averages atm everyone has dropped their average so far but Hougaard, Allen, Grajczonek are doing ok so far. Wright has done well too but isn't really a team rider 😉 Starke, Tungate and Graversen have had a drop of over a point Tungate case has dropped almost 5 points. Kerr would be a decent rider who rode well against us, Lawson too to add much needed top end strength.

Somerset V Swindon 21/4/17
SomersetBlue replied to Aroundtheboards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If you add the points together 8+8+8+6+6+5+4 that is 45 so yes each rider needs to be scoring at least that and more, the ones who currently aren't are the three mentioned. There has only been one meeting for each of the three where they have scored what is expected of them for a team in depth. -

SomersetBlue replied to Aroundtheboards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Granted and I know barely any will meet their average but they still need to be scoring their average i.e Rohan ideally needs to be scoring 8, Starke 6, Graversen realistic over 4 to make up for a weak top end. They aren't and those are the areas we are weakest. There aren't really any top end riders out there so we need squad depth so I believe at least two need changing. I hate to say it as they are good lads and have been good riders but you have to be ruthless sometimes. -

SomersetBlue replied to Aroundtheboards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As I said I don't like to say it but I just think those three are the problems atm, we have a team in depth so cannot afford for riders in the 1-5 to be scoring below their average and we need our reserves to be scoring over their average. Those three aren't. -

SomersetBlue replied to Aroundtheboards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well going to be ruthless and say we need three changes, it's a short season and we can't carry baggage. Tungate, Starke and Graversen sadly are. I don't like saying it but Tungate is not good enough this season, Starke is another struggling big time lately and can't say he wasn't fit as he scored ok last night. Graversen would be ok beating other no.7 if we had top end strength but we don't. -

Oh well hopefully we can shut everyone up about having a week team by winning without our best rider. -

And people are still missing the agreed by all parties bit. The BSPA and Swindon have agreed to the guest, Somerset have broken no rules if all parties have agreed to it.
