  1. Tracks looking in great shape going by the recent picture on the Facebook page, wonder if Doyle has been ruling his eye over it. Still more work to do but looking very slick atm. Wonder if Ez is still there as I haven't heard anything
  2. I believe you do have to re- declare the team as the injury happened before the first competitive meeting has taken place. No 28 day cover would be given so would have to be R/R. I'm sure this happened to Somerset once but don't ask me when and who for.
  3. Only riders I can see available are Berge/ Hansen to go with Rose. No one else really available.
  4. I don't think Allen is strong enough for 3/4 yet. He did ok last season but in some meetings went missing and we would be weak in heats 12/14. Plus if at no. 2 he can learn from Doyle. Then again I trust Garry May to know what is best more than any of us. It's great to see the club getting some more sponsors on board as well, that will be important this season
  5. I would say Lawson would start at 5 as he is stronger than Holder atm but I think Holder will improve to be better this season and move to 5 during the season.
  6. I still stick to what I say and that is that Somerset look strong people may think it's blind loyalty but I think out of everyone we have the most important from top to bottom. Allen, Holder and BWD should improve their averages and Wright and Lawson are both heat leaders at home, if at least one of them can replicate that away then I really don't see that being a bad side. Belle Vue have a good reserve partnership but you can't say that top 5 is as good as last season, Cook is no where near the level of Bjerre personally and Fricke has a lot riding on him. King's Lynn actually look decent to me with a top heat leader double act and a strong reserve all they need is a solid middle order which I think they have. Leicester look good but it remains to be seen how Vaculik and Pieszczek get on they are the key. Poole look the strongest and I don't blame them for working with the tools given to them but they do have riders on outdated averages which has given them an advantage, i'm sure any team would have done the same though. Rye House have gone for strength in depth and will be decent at home with Kennett and Barker basically third heat leaders around Hoddesdon but away will be their problem. Swindon will obviously miss Doyle as Morris is not to his level but Musielak and Batchelor will be solid scorers Bellego is inconsistent and the reserves relies on Wajtknechts improvement. Wolves like Rye will be tricky at home as Thorsell will be an adequate no. 1 but away they will face trouble but I don't think it's a really bad side with Masters, Schlien and Howarth being decent plus Heeps was good for the Rebels. Greaves too showed improvement in himself from a rider I never really rated.
  7. In terms of calling Somerset a one man team. He is either extremely biased or doesn't know anything speedway. Without Doyle we picked up victories at Belle Vue, King's Lynn and Poole last season and only lost by 6 at Leicester. We have essentially got twice the rider of Grajczonek in Doyle and vastly improving riders in Allen, Holder and BWD. Then an ever improving Wrighty and Lawson put in some decent scores too. In what way is that a one man team? Add in the fact 5 track specialists and Holder who rides the track well. That doesn't seem a one man team to me.
  8. You really don't know a lot about Speedway do you.
  9. Looking at each team individually: Belle Vue look weaker in the top 5 but the reserves are stronger so i would say look equal to last season. King's Lynn tbh do look stronger than the end of last season with Puk at no. 1 and Kerr/ Andersen at reserve. Leicester look stronger enough said really. Poole same as Leicester. Rye House if Kasprzak is the last rider then equal to last season with Kennett equal to Wells. Somerset look stronger with Doyle coming in at no. 1 Swindon look weaker imo with losing Doyle and BWD at reserve. Wolverhampton look weaker with no Lindgren. So all in all 2 teams have weakened but 4 teams have strengthened with 2 teams looking equal so imo the team looks stronger.
  10. How true, will be truly sad if he has left. Did Shane Parker not comment on how dangerous it was when he left before? Have to get someone who knows what he is doing if he has gone.
  11. I thought Ez was the track man, have I missed something?
  12. Yeah my mistake missed the comma out after. Everyone can be prone to a mistake.
  13. I have, scored 6 and 1 (while guesting) at the OTA although but was fantastic while guesting up at Glasgow for us. He is only young and still has a lot to learn. I don't see him getting above a 5.00 this season imo. Same as I honestly don't see Fricke being an 8.00 rider.
  14. No just my opinion of course some bias but I think there is more improvement in the Rebel side, with Holder, Wilson Dean, Lawson and Allen, than Belle Vue who tbh I can only see Tungate improving but not by much and as I said Leicester depends on Vaculik and Pieszczek if they perform they look good for second if not I don't see how they are better than Somerset.
  15. 1) POOLE: On paper they have 5 potential heat leaders (with Sundstrom) and a strong reserve with Szczepaniak, Shanes showed improvement too last season. 2) Somerset: Call me biased but any team led by Doyle stands a chance of getting top 4. Will be very strong at home and showed last season with a weaker team that we can pick up a few away points. 3) Leicester: Fantastic to see Leicester putting together a top side could grab second but depends on the two new men Vaculik and Pieszczek. 4) Belle Vue: Top 5 is considerably weaker just by losing Bjerre and for that reason I think will lose out on the top 3. The potential reserves though give them an advantage over Swindon and Wolves respectively. 5) Swindon: Strong top five but just lose out to the potential BV reserve pairing. If one of Davey or Wajtknecht pick up though then could 4th. 6) Wolverhampton: Big loss losing Freddie but still have a massive home advantage, on paper will take a few drummings away from Monmore. 7) Rye House: Should be good at home but away from home they look poor even if Kasprzak is the last rider. 8) King's Lynn: Iversen and the young Dane look to be the remaining two and with that a good top two and a strong reserve partnership potentially with Kerr or Rose but a very weak middle order means fighting with Rye for bottom spot.
  16. Absolutely not i'm buzzing that we have signed him the same as every Rebel fans is and totally understand how hard it is to have lost him. It was hard when we lost him to Leicester (which the promotion gave their consent to) due to his Visa problems. It's not just Doyle any rider would do the same if they are offered more money elsewhere, same as I would move if I was offered more money to move workplace. Lets face it money is the face of everything. Anyway let's give KL their thread back.
  17. Your opinion and not fact, you don't know who voted for it and why they voted for it. Could easily have been done as a cost saving measure due to the lack of TV revenue. Isn't that half the reason Morris was picked over Doyle. Rosco was the one to drop him not any other club. I'm sure if someone offered more money he would have dropped Swindon at a snap of his fingers.
  18. If you think that Doyle wouldn't have been interested in returning to Somerset before being so-called 'dumped' you are sadly mistaken. Somerset has always been one of his favourite clubs in Britain.
  19. From an outside view i'm guessing: Cook, Drodz, Fricke, Bewley, Tungate and either Nicol or Becker, will join Worrall.
  20. True but can't fault Leicester at all they don't make the rules and have put together a good squad. I honestly don't think any team will come close to that team on paper tbh.
  21. Great lineup tbh disagree with Vaculik being an 8.00 personally but definitely the best lineup so far.
  22. The rest of Somerset averages are Doyle 9.69, Lawson 6.43, Wright 6.69, Allen 5.07, Wilson Dean 4.67, Jeppesen 4.00.
  23. Doyle riding here this season is probably one of the main attractions not just at Somerset but at other clubs too when Rebels come to town. Away from home then that is probably the idea with Doyle allowed a tactical substitute ride. When it comes to the OTA then that is a different story. Lawson and Wright are very much heat leaders around the place. When dialled in Holder should be able to score big too. Allen and Wilson Dean love the place too. Jeppesen only has to beat the other reserves and has done his job imo.
