Somerset v Poole Prem A. 20/6/18
SomersetBlue replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You hope that May will regret this move and you call yourself a Somerset supporter. I don't think any fan would wish their club would take a downward turn for one rider. While I agree Wright has been a good servant and a popular rider if he made his position untenable then no rider is bigger than the club. I'm as big a fan of Wright as anyone but if he is arguing in the pits and demanding money to attend the end of season presentation night then the club is right. I don't think Vissing is the answer though. -

Covatti in all fairness is probably the strongest number 7 in the league and just as strong as some of the 6's imo. Vissing on the other hand is not going to be scoring double figures home or away. We really do look weaker in that respect. -

Couldn't be there tonight but what was the crowd and track like? Was it any different with the work and a new curator? -
Premiership Somerset vs Rye House 04/04/18
SomersetBlue replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That's Swindon vs Rye and Rye vs Swindon. This one is on Wednesday. -
not sure of the Rye lineup tbh: 1. Jason Doyle 2. Jake Allen 3. Charles Wright 4. Jack Holder 5. Richard Lawson 6. Bradley Wilson Dean 7. Jonas Jeppesen 1. Chris Harris 2. Aaron Summers 3. Edward Kennett 4. KK 5. Nicholls 6. Clegg 7. Robson Depending which Kennett and KK turn up this could be a whitewash imo with the Rebel riders all being very good around the OTA. Harris and Nicholls should provide some competition and Robson should provide some backup but I don't think Summers or Clegg will though.

For or against team suits
SomersetBlue replied to Booey boy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Never said I didn't but btw she actually haggled his price down so we aren't overpaying him but I didn't just say Doyle was the reason did I. There are plenty more reasons as to why she didn't do it. You can't just cherry pick one thing that someone has said. -

I suggest that you watch Debbie's interview on the Somerset twitter where she explains about her decision rather than posting about something you clearly know nothing about. -

Interestingly; Debbie Hancock was asked about the kevlars at P&P today. Said that they had to get the jackets sorted even back before any team work was done and wanted to use the money (before BT deal had been struck) elsewhere, Doyle and also track work with the new drainage system in place etc. She said she is as much of a fan as anyone else on the race suits and we will perhaps have them another season. Yes they aren't very nice Jackets this season and look very odd but i'm pretty happy where the money has gone. -
Josh also rode in the 90th and the Stead farewell. Szczepaniak and Woryna have both rode for Rybnik and I assume their P&P Kurtz and Kildermand rode in the 90th too. Shanes and Sundstrom had P&P for other clubs too I imagine. Plus Poole had P&P and practice days. So I would hardly say Poole have had nothing in comparison. Somerset haven't actually ridden on the OTA at all yet.

I disagree about Doyle in heat 13 he battled with Vaculik right until the end. The rest I agree with pretty much, adding on to Jeppesen I thought he was on the pace on a track he has never seen. Will be a decent reserve. As you said pretty much a gate and go track (although still an ok meeting tbf) so didn't suit the Rebels. Could struggle at Rye and Wolves this season
-
Yes the front is the same as last season but the back has the number in the middle and 5 sponsors around it. Very very unprofessional imo.
-
Entertaining meeting for a challenge match, not amazing but still entertaining. For Leicester Andersen, King and Pieszczek were excellent with Newman aiding with his 7 rides. Vaculik was poor considering but he will improve. R/R and Sarjeant were the let downs. Get a replacement for Bates and when Vaculik gets going, this is a very good Leicester side. For Somerset I went away very happy as an away point would have been achieved in a league meeting. Doyle, Holder and BWD were the pick of the bunch for us. Especially BWD beating Andersen in heat 4. Jeppesen was out of shape in heat 2 but unknown track for him, was never off the pace. Allen, Wright and Lawson were very inconsistent throughout the meeting.
-
Just an observation Anyway I was at the meeting tonight: Doyley looked quick, had a bad gate in heat 13 but other than that same old Doyle. Jake started really well got a 3rd and a 5-1 with Doyle but then faded away and was a little off the pace in his last two rides. Charles started badly with two bad gates but looked a lot better in his last two. Holder bike trouble in his first but two seconds and a win after and looked more settled. Richard was inconsistent but still 7 is a decent score. Need more to back Jason up though. Jonas way out of shape in his first heat but was never off the pace he could be a decent reserve for us. BWD wow!!! Great start from him two wins and beat Andersen who was the best rider on show.

The race jackets look horrible with 5 sponsors all cramed in on the back with the number.

Someone has sour grapes I think seeing as only Kus and Wells were full time championship riders who rode last night. The others were pretty much heat leaders.
