  1. Panthers wouldn't have beaten that Poole side over 2 legs....!
  2. I have met and chatted with Michael on several occasions and found him a quiet, knowledgeable and decent guy. I hope he is proven to be found innocent of all charges
  3. Assuming Len keeps the Rockets in the PL next season Will we see the return of Luke Bowen, Will Steve Boxhall step up? Definitely keep Aspren. Bunyan, Mellgren and Mellgren..... Slot Morley in at reserve.... Not a bad looking team...
  4. unfortunately after seeing the rockets thrash the bears a few weeks ago in the KOC I'll give it a miss....!
  5. Why is Tyson leaving the UK before the 2nd leg of the KOC final! ....
  6. Thanks for that! I did wonder.... Shame always likes watching him around Rye...
  7. Olly Allen the worst Number 1 since Joe Dolce! Is Chris Neath Planning to ride in 2014?
  8. is Pontus Aspgren fit after last saturdays crash ? Anyone know the date of the KOC final?
  9. who was the rider who had a couple of practice spins between heats 14 & 15 of the Scunthorpe meeting and then again during the short interval after the Scunthorpe meetings has ended? Was hoping it was Jason Garrity testing his fitness levels to compete in the redcar fixture - sadly not though!
  10. Twas heat 7 Ostergaard passed Lykke on the line - plain to see for all except for the yob on the line - who went ballistic at the referee...!
  11. I have to agree - I was embarrassed watching the exploits to this young chap... Obviously a few sheet to the wind or with extreme anger management problems.. There was one particularly close heat where the opposing rider piped Lykke (i think it was) on the line - it was plain to see to the whole world yet this chap started screaming and gesticulating towards the ref's box...
  12. Enjoyed the meetings... Thought there was some excellent racing verses Redcar especially from Mellgren,Nelson and Bunyan.... The reserves looked very poor to be honest....and Olly was Olly.... As usual with Dye House took an age to run and there was the usual dust cloud hovering over the track... I took a Newbee to the meeting and he said he saw the tractors do more laps than the riders... I said to him "count yourself lucky it's usually much worse than this!" Anyone know when the final is penciled in for?
  13. hahaha you've been listening to Pearson too much!! Every Ryan ever to have ridden a speedway bike is "Flyin" according to our Nigel!!
  14. I am bringing a Newbie to this meeting and also my kids - what chance that we will all be bored ridged at the speed of proceedings? having watched the tractor do more laps than the riders and all be covered in shale dust?
  15. Rob are you not getting confused between Olly Allen and Tommy "gun" Allen?
  16. The 2013 Speedway season reaches the end of August with Saturday’s double header staging at Rye House. First on track will be the Silver Ski Rockets’ Premier League encounter with Scunthorpe. The reigning League Champions have found the defence of their crown a difficult one… although last week’s successive away wins at Sheffield and Plymouth have given the Scorpions sudden hope of making the title Play-Offs. Their team includes Cardiff Grand Prix reserve Josh Auty, 2010 World Cup Silver medallist Nicolai Klindt and back-to-back Scunthorpe rider of the year Thomas Jorgensen, who also impressed Rye fans with a 13 point haul at the Hertfordshire circuit just three weeks ago. Rye House team manager John Sampford recognises the threat at hand. “The Scorpions are very much the in-form team of the last two weeks, and have a lot riding on this match, so we will have to be at the top of our form to get the right result. As I’ve said before, you get nothing for nothing in this league; you have to fight for every point. “I’ve spoken to Jason Bunyan, who has confirmed that he will be fit to ride on Saturday after his crash against Berwick. It shows his grit and determination; he is such a rock to this team. “Jason Garrity remains questionable for Saturday. If he is unable to take his place, we have Ben Morley standing by for both matches. Ben has produced some excellent – and critical – displays for us already this season, so we have plenty of potential cover there.” The Premier League clash will be followed by what has now become the defining moment in the Silver Ski Rockets’ 2013 season. Despite a seemingly relentless run of injury and misfortune – the club’s badge of “Generation Next” has often segued into one of “Generation Hexed” - the Rockets are still in there fighting in the Knock-Out Cup, and Saturday brings the moment of truth: the Semi-Final second leg against Redcar. Redcar 48 Rye House 42 was the score-line from July 11th’s first leg on Teesside, which makes Saturday’s target totally black and white. With the exclusion of the Tactical Ride rule from the competition, there is no grey area in this one…. 49 is the magic number. While much of the ground work has been laid in the first leg, the Rockets can take absolutely nothing for granted against a Bears team whose own Cup future is at stake, and which has started a fair few of its opponents so far this year. 22 year old Australian Micky Dyer has been a revelation in only his second season of Premier League racing, with fellow Aussie Aaron Summers and Ulrich Ostergaard tucked in behind him. Third year Bear Matej Kus is actually at No.1, with his absence for the fixture covered by Thomas Jorgensen, who will therefore see double duty on Saturday, as a guest. As Sampford reiterates, “The bottom line is that this is our most important match of the year. There is just so much riding on it. “We achieved a very good result in the first leg, but now we’ve got to complete the job. We know our potential when we are firing on all cylinders: now we’ve got to go out and deliver on that.” And, as he concedes, “Yes, 49 is the magic number.” Teams (alphabetical order): Rye House: Olly Allen, Pontus Aspgren, Jason Bunyan, Jason Garrity (if fit), Kasper Lykke, Anders Mellgren, Tyson Nelson Scunthorpe: Josh Auty, Ashley Birks, Lewis Blackbird, Ryan Douglas, David Howe R/R, Thomas Jorgensen, Nicolai Klindt Redcar: Micky Dyer, Thomas Jorgensen, Ulrich Ostergaard, Hugh Skidmore, Aaron Summers, Carl Wilkinson, Steve Worrall Supporters are reminded that Saturday’s meeting will start one hour earlier than normal – at 6pm – in order to accommodate the scheduled thirty race programme. Admission prices are: Adults £20, Seniors £18, Teenagers £8, U-12s FREE
  17. good luck to the lad - he has been struggling for the Panthers of late and hopefully more track time will improve his confidence...
  18. The Chips are just frozen crap this season, not proper freshly cut potato ones.... Also there are always about 10 plastic bottles of Ketchup out on the side but they are always empty!!
