  1. You can forget lhe massacre against Lakeside, totally different kettle of fish with Wolves. Since the addition of Woofinden, Wolves I think will have the edge. Please with this thread and BVs home leg thread, can the bickering and name calling cease, as was evident when Poole were involved, I think the moderators should have temporarily banned a few posters. This should guarantee a huge gate for both clubs, provided that Wolves do not take a big lead with them to the NSS. May the best team win, either way I am delighted that Poole are no longer in the running, well done the Wolves.
  2. I do hope that the weather does not decide who makes 4th spot in the Play-offs, and ruin the prospect of an exciting contest between the two teams. With my BV hat on, I have now come around to thinking that, irrespective of which team triumphs on the night, BV should pick the winner to meet in the semis, I did think that a financial semi with Wolves was the way to go, but surely you must give yourselves the best chance of reaching the final. That is not to say I think it will be a walkover for BV no matter who they meet, as it will be a KO situation, and whoever is riding best on the two nights will triumph, one bad display and you are more or less out of the competition. If Swindon do go out, I am worried about the prospect of Tungate being used as a guest around BV, his scores at BV have been very consistent.
  3. How much does Sky TV pay to show a meeting ? Does it cover the missing stay at home fans, because it is on TV, ? AS for the result of the meeting, it could go either way, looking at Zagar's score in the last GP, and Steve Worrall & Craig Cook's score in the PLRC, it does not fill me with any confidence that Belle Vue will get the win they need. Towards the tail end of their last meeting together, Poole looked to be getting dialled in to the track.
  4. Only now are BV launching a poster campaign, in which fans can get free ? posters from the club, and put them up around their locality, with a prize for the best effort. I cannot see BV beating Poole on aggregate scores over two legs, perhaps next weeks home meetings with Poole & Swindon could give an indication of which would be our best bet in the semi finals. We might not of course finish top which would mean we have no say in the matter. Wolves would be our best financial meeting in the semis. I still cannot believe that Kings Lynn beat us at home after seeing their performance at Poole last night. We can ill afford another performance like that.
  5. Not wishing to put the mockers on Belle Vues season, but we didn't win the title that year, so being top of the table is great, but there is still a long way to go. As at the moment BV have very little in the way of home track advantage, over two legs no matter who we meet it will be a close thing. We still have several home meetings left, which should help our team get better dialled in at home.
  6. You have hit the nail on the head, I enjoyed my speedway far more when I knew little about the rule book, or the various goings on. Does this Forum encourage people to go and watch speedway ? I think not. It seems that some posters spend all their time dissecting others posts, be it a sentence, or just a word, and going on and on with a pointless argument, and claiming they are right, when the other poster gets fed up arguing with them. Then you have the other posters, with thousands of posts to their name who consider themselves superior to those who post less often. You often wonder if they have any other life than on here. Amongst all the twaddle, you do get the occasional posts that are informative, interesting, and humorous.
  7. Sorry about that completely forgot about under 21 when I posted, I will write 500 lines " The reserves for the WTC must be under 21" I would be very surprised if Woofy was at BV next year, he did not endear himself with the management at the PC meeting.
  8. I suppose Woffinden is a cert, as Rosco said as much last night. Might not get a warm reception from the Belle Vue fans. Lambert also should be in the team proper, our next generation of riders. King deserves the place because of his recent performances. Cook as it is his home track, only problem is he is bad at bike set ups. Reserve either of the Worrall twins, home track and if needed could get points. Though probably the position is superfluous. Bomber I am afraid has had one to many poor performances, I like him and we know he will give his all, but it is time for him to move over.
  9. I thought the way he wore his baseball cap back to front was extremely juvenile. Stop interviewing him, he usually has nothing of significance to say anyway. Swearing is a way of like, once you get used to using the "F" word in normal conversation, you no longer know that you said it. A teacher once said that to swear meant that you had a limited grasp of the vocabulary, and made you look thick and uneducated. One way to curb his arrogance would be to drop him from the team GB WTC he expects to be automatically picked and have a say in team selection.
  10. Danny King is fine once the dirt line moves out near the fence, if it is an inside line only he is far less effective. What is the point of having a reserve when you can only use them due to rider injury. It was far better when you had virtual 5 men squads and could use your reserve whenever tactically wanted. Get rid of this stupid joker rule and go back to 5 rider squads.
  11. I do not know why posters on here bother with "BWitcher" he is the biggest trolling pedant on the forum, and as such should be ignored.
  12. As a neutral I must admit not one of the most exciting meetings on Sky, far to many restarts, and the narrowness of the track doesn't help, but for the home fans no doubt they were quite happy. Any one would think from some of the comments that you rarely get poor meetings in the Elite league, from my experience watching all leagues you get good & bad meetings in them all, the bigger the track, usually the larger the gaps between riders.
  13. I bet half the Grandstand do not yell out, in protest, when a Poole rider gets a flyer.
  14. What is even worse is that the rider does not have the option of a 15yard handicap, or the team putting in a reserve rider. If you go through the tapes it amounts to just as much a delay, as in the eyes of the ref a false start, as the tapes have to be replaced.
  15. Well what do I know about forecasting results, I will have to forecast a twenty point defeat more often if it means Belle Vue get an away win. The only thing I got right was that if the track did not suit Poole, BV would stand a chance Holder in particular was not happy. Great win though, anyone know what the bookies odds were for an away team eight point win.
  16. I can see at least a twenty point win for Poole, much as I would like it to be a closer. Belle Vue have no momentum going into this meeting, having ridden so few Elite matches. The one hope is that the track having been overseen by the baldy man, is not to Poole's liking, otherwise unlikely to be an exciting meeting from a Belle Vue point of view.
  17. If Chris Harris does not make the top eight in the GPs this year, I fear that we will lose the place for a British rider. If we do it may be a long while before another Brit is good enough to make the GPs. I do not see us getting a wild card pick either. Riding Elite League only no longer pays enough money, so if no foreign bookings then no option but to try to get into the Premier League.
  18. If the centre green roving microphone was the same as last year, he was just as crap then. Anyone know why the South Stand car park was shut off. (according to the official site) Easy solution to the ticket queues, give a separate window to the standing ticket fans, as they do not have to pick and choose a seat. Surely a time & motion exercise could soon work out how long staff were taking to issue a ticket. I can see a lot of delayed start times, so annoying when you have yourself pre booked a ticket, glad I am giving it a miss until they have sorted how to run a stadium efficiently.
  19. Now that we have had to erect a noise barrier on the back straight of our new stadium, surely Stock Cars should have a new noise test done on them to see if they comply with the regulations, now that they run on their own at the dog track. I have heard people complain about the noise, and blaming the speedway, when we have not even had a meeting, and it was the stox making all the noise.
  20. All the more time for some more rain offs, or cock-ups.
  21. I would urge as many of you as possible, to claim a cash refund for the farce of the opening PC meeting. I was thinking of just leaving it, but after this latest fiasco, will definitely be claiming a refund. It will be interesting to see how quickly they pay out the reimbursements. For those of you that bought a 20 meeting season ticket, I would think that now they are behind with the fixtures, you will not get your 20 home meetings. Yet another case of cash in the bank, for the promotion.
  22. Not these days he isn't. A total management man these days on the forums.
  23. How can the Belle Vue sycophants like Phil the Ace , still support the management. Taking money off fans when they knew full well that no meetings were going to take place is criminal. I will no longer be going to watch Belle Vue whilst these Muppets are in charge, and I reckon a lot of fans will take the same course of action.
  24. They were still selling tickets at the stadium yesterday afternoon, so this is yet another meeting where they have taken money off the fans and delivered nothing. Anyone thinking of attending the next home meeting (Weather permitting ) need to think twice. I for one will not be going anywhere near that stadium until they have proved they can efficiently run at least three meetings, though at this rate I could be dead by then.
  25. I did not say anything about Belle Vue being league champions because of one away win, I used the words perhaps they might have a bit of success. I have no illusions that Belle Vue will even finish second in this years league table, a lot of changes will be made by other teams before that end. I agree with one thing said that the reserve picks this year were a complete mess, if you end up with a duff reserve it is virtually impossible to improve that position afterwards.
