Was really looking forward to the double header on a predicted beautiful day in Mildenhall on Sunday until i saw the price that is ! I know they have to pay the riders for 2 meetings but IMO National league speedway should really only be a £10 sport anyway but at £13 normal price I'm able to reasonably accept it . However , the double header at £22 for adults and £20 concessions seems rather overpriced to me , i would have thought maybe £18 at the very most would have been an acceptable price , after all the supporters didn't ask for 2 meetings on the same day , then of course the age old question of away fans only wanting to watch 1 meeting comes up ? For adults to save £4 and concessions all of £2 on the standard admissions to me is taking the P**s and a bit derogatory. Anyway rant over Hope everyone stays safe in these 2 meetings in from what we've seen so far this season should hopefully be 2 comfortable home wins for the Tigers.and another 6 league points on the board. They've probably priced themselves out of my attendance though . Hope everyone that goes enjoys !

Ipswich v Edinburgh 21 6 18
Super Blue replied to Baldyman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just out of curiosity did anybody in the stadium apart from the ref actually think that Connor really got past Garcia in ht14 to take 2nd place? Certainly didn't look like it from dead in line with the starting gate on the back straight. -
Ipswich v Edinburgh 21 6 18
Super Blue replied to Baldyman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I was just about to start a thread up when I saw you'd done it Baldy. With july fast coming up and this being only our 5th league fixture I'm finding myself being much more connected to Mildenhall than Ipswich at the moment but having said that, Neither ourselves or Edinburgh have had a good start to the season and with the lack of fixtures anything could happen tomorrow night. The majority of the team against Sheffield showed some grit and determination to grind out a result but now we don't have Michael for the foreseeable future and the indifferent form of Cam covering RR could be difficult. I know Nico can take a ride but we need somebody like Nathan Greaves as a stopgap at no2. I think this could be a close meeting with hopefully the Witches coming out on top, we need to get some momentum going ASAP.! -
Mildenhall v Brummies Sun 17th June KO Cup 2nd leg

Young Leon did very well IMO, I think that with him and Drew Kemp we certainly had the 2 most outstanding/up and coming kids in the country on show yesterday! -
Mildenhall v Brummies Sun 17th June KO Cup 2nd leg
Super Blue replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
To be fair Brum did really well to keep it so close, the guests did them proud and I'm not sure it would have been that much different had they had a full team, who knows ? The track definitely seemed different to normal yesterday and I'm sure the likes of Dan Halsey would have expected to get more points than he did. Also a couple of questionable refereeing decisions on the day. Shame the two teams had to meet at this stage of the competition, would have made a good final ! Hopefully it will be 2 full strength teams when the league matches come up and possibly the Trophy final. -
Room for 2 of us ? You never know we might be useful for ancient history.

Although I can't say difinitively I wouldn't imagine Mildenhall would have a massive budget to work with but they have put a very competitive side together with three 3pt riders. Granted its now costing alot with the huge points totals they are racking up most weeks but with 6 of their originally signed riders being U21 I don't think they are being paid a fortune.

How many likely to be going roughly? I wouldn't want to be in a team of 1 or 2.

british u-19 final
Super Blue replied to gee jay's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I would say it's Bewleys for the taking if he really wants it but he hasn't been at his best when he's been to Foxhall before. -
Any news on the situation regarding Danny Ayres yet?

Ipswich v Lakeside 21st April
Super Blue replied to Badge's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well I know we've had a lack of track time. I know Foxhall is slightly different this year. I know the track had to be slick last time around. I know we have riders coming back from injuries. However one or two of the Witches certainly need to be getting their backsides into gear sooner rather than later because if there's not great improvement quickly things could get difficult when we start the league season. -

An 8pm start on a weekday puts me out of the picture as far as going is concerned as well. -

Since last season or longer coz it's been months without speedway anyway? -

New system is all around and also zonal so individual area volumes can be adjusted. I popped in stadium and had a chat with the guy who just happened to be installing them that day. -
So what do we reckon on our chances of finally getting our season under way on Thursday? After the total washout that was supposed to be a feast of speedway over the Easter weekend hopefully we'll actually get a meeting to watch! The majority of the Witches have at least had some time on their bikes but not around the slightly reshaped Foxhall track. The only one who doesn't know his way round our home shale is Michael Hartel but hopefully it won't take him long to get dialed in. Anyway, looking at the potential teams it should theoretically be a comfortable home win whilst getting in some much needed laps and the guys starting to earn some money. Opinions? And weather permitting all systems go.

Ipswich V Lakeside Good Friday 2.15pm
Super Blue replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Its a 2-15pm parade start in Ipswich so that would be 3-15pm for you in Bordeaux Jonny . Although there's got to be serious doubt weather wise that it will even happen and as others have remarked it certainly won't produce the money spinning bumper crowd that a warm sunny day would likely have done. -

Super Blue replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's certainly not looking good weather wise for either of these meetings to go ahead on Friday, I think our best chance to see some speedway this weekend is at Peterborough on Sunday. -
Pity the guys couldn't get a few laps under their belts around Foxhall before the season gets underway, especially the one newbie we've got on board but as Bob said to me it would have probably seriously screwed the track over for Friday.
-
Apparently not going to happen now, they just turned the air fence off after a chat on the track.
-
Well it's been raining and now it's the slightest of drizzle, it was undecided when I spoke to Bob the track man but as some of the guys have been out looking at the track and now they are moving the stock car trucks off the centre green I'm guessing they are going to give it a go.

I've just arrived at the stadium but not ventured in yet, it's pretty damp still around here. As soon as I know something I'll post on here.
-
The weather not looking too promising for practice day on Tuesday, could well be going into first meetings with some not even hardly been on their bikes.

Ipswich V Lakeside Good Friday 2.15pm
Super Blue replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Advance warning on getting to the stadium on Good Friday, access to Foxhall Rd from Ipswich direction is blocked by roadworks at Foxhall Rd roundabout for about another 3 or 4 weeks. Unless you know your way through the local housing estate best to go via bypass. Access from Northern bypass is completely clear. Hope this helps any travelling fans.
