  1. Well I've been thinking long and hard about the move up and I'm still not convinced it's the right thing to do for the Witches and I'm certainly not alone in that opinion. The whole concept of 1 owner controlling 3 top flight teams doesn't sit right with me at all at the end of the day . I'm sure Mr Chapman has his own agenda and that is predominantly to keep the Premiership in existence, not to necessarily do what's right for Ipswich Speedway ? Just seems strange that the only 2 teams left to be completed happen to be 2 of his 3 ??? Hopefully he doesn't ruin us and thank heavens Chris has the buy back clause if things don't go according to plan ! (and it's not too late of course) I also know previously die hard season ticket holders who would normally have paid their money by now that are holding back till the team is announced purely because they don't want to waste money if we end up doing the same as we did towards the end of our last top flight campaign ! If we've signed 4 riders announce them for petes sake, then we at least have some room for speculation on the remaining slots with how many points left to play with. Come on, give us something to go with as I for one am not in the least bit enthusiastic at this point, I think a few more out there are seriously interested in seeing what's going to happen to justify the increase in admission costs.
  2. Thanks for the blindingly obvious public information announcement. As I've said before on other threads it is what it is and the team that finishes top should be champions debate has been done to death on many occasions. I was just trying to build up to what is hopefully a great meeting with my own opinion made apparent.
  3. As nobody else has started this I'll do it. Can the Tigers overturn a 19pt deficit? It's certainly doable as at one point during the KO final home leg they were 20pts ahead only to let it slip at the tail end of the meeting but they will certainly need to make a good start and keep it going. I'm not sure how Nathan Stonemans points tally will stack up to what a fit Danny Ayres would have scored but he has had a couple of very good points returns at West Row this season. Eastbourne have put together a very capable side and although I believe Mildenhalls full 7 would definitely have been less behind and would have triumphed overall I now believe it could be a very tight finish on Thursday. I'll be there to hopefully see a good meeting with the true league champions coming out on top ! (this statement is of course dependant on who you support)
  4. Injuries have really taken their toll at the wrong time for Mildenhall and the current form team are very likely to benefit from it. Would be a shame if The Tigers only ended the season with the National trophy under their belt but rules are rules whether people think its right or wrong. Personally I think that we all know who the National league team of the year really is !!!
  5. The talk of injustice is a very valid point as Mildenhall have been a class above everyone else for pretty much all of the season! However the rules are fully known how it works and to bring up the team who finished top are the real champions is a futile exercise as that's been discussed to death in all the leagues!
  6. I wish they'd keep the rules the same for all the leagues. My bad!
  7. Think that as long as Eastbourne make the playoff final it will be a guest rather than RR for Danny Ayres for Mildenhall. Always dangerous going with RR in my opinion in such an important meeting. Hopefully the other guys recover to compete effectively.
  8. Hope its a good meeting for everyone attending and hoping for a Witches win , currently basking in roughly 30° temperatures in Lanzarote at the moment or would have been there .
  9. Well Mildenhall have put together a very formidable side this year but it would take a monumental effort to go through the league season unbeaten. I fully expect either Kent, Eastbourne or Birmingham at full strength to potentially end the current winning streak at some point.
  10. Thought I'd start this one up as yet again not a great deal of interest. Even with a depleted side hopefully we should prevail and get all 3 league points up for grabs. But then again I thought that against Peterborough last week although they are in a completely different ball park to the Scorpions who are also missing Josh Auty. It should be a nice routine comfortable home win but you never know with the Witches !
  11. Total garbage! Should have booked 2 guests, RR pretty damned unproductive tonight. OK just checked and it got 7pts but Rory would have got more than that. Nobody could gate. Why do we repeatedly set up the track to suit the opposition. Slick was never going to suit the Witches tonight. And when we actually get into a position where we could possibly (unlikely but maybe) get something from the meeting does a total knob head go for a gap that simply wasn't there! And guess what rerun was won by Tom Bacon. Thank heavens I also follow Mildenhall, at least I tend to come away from there with a smile on my face.
  12. Not sure if it's even worth wasting a rain off ticket for tonight now, between the two teams there's hardly more than a couple of heat leaders on show.
  13. Hmmm, I think the result of this one could hinge on which Adam Ellis turns up on the night. Lakeside have visited twice and he's got 13+1pts from 5 rides and 6pts from 6 rides. If it's the 2nd one we could have problems even winning. Good luck to Drew, I'm sure if he picks up a few points it'll do his confidence the world of good at this level.
  14. The ref was pretty much on and around the track the whole time the prep was going on and allegedly thought it was OK to give it a go. In my opinion and most of those around me it appeared that Glasgow (1 rider particularly) had no intention of riding and slowly but surely persuaded everyone else to follow suit. Obviously that's speculation as we couldn't hear what was being said but being allowed in and paying it was disappointing to say the least! Lets hope not too many travelled from up north, its them I feel for mostly as I can use my readmission ticket next week.
  15. Well it was blindingly obvious to most in the stadium that the main instigator of the postponement was a certain GP rider (and I use the term loosely) who was waving his arms about while kicking the track . He obviously was doing his best to persuade others not to ride either . I'm sorry but my personal opinion of him gets lower by the minute !
  16. I could just lie and say it was a typo but let's just say for more than one reason that's my opinion of him.
  17. I would certainly prefer our own riders as a fully fit Danny King around Foxhall is very difficult to beat and always good for double figure scores. Finding somebody available to sign who could do the same job was always going to be difficult ! So guests or RR it is then.
  18. Rather annoyingly the only real day of rain last week was Thursday and guess what, its supposed to be bloody wet again! I really hope it doesn't get called off again or we'll have problems fitting our meetings in before the cutoff. Being optimistic though with the debut of young Drew to look forward to and Craig Cock in town its one meeting I'm really up for! I think we should still have enough in the locker for a home win but a lot might depend on which Cameron Heeps turns up on the night.
  19. Let's hope Drew gets his first choice bike sorted before Thursday, he was on fire for Mildenhall yesterday before it died on him mid race. He managed to get within 0.02 sec of the track record in heat 1 ! Nobody is expecting too much from him at Foxhall but it will be nice to have a rider who can potentially score points by beating the oppositions reserves (no disrespect intended Mr Wallinger) rather than only getting something when someone falls off.
  20. Given the current weather forecast on BBC and more I would be grateful if anyone local would be able to keep us up to date on weather conditions and the likelihood of this going ahead today please?
  21. Well they'll just have to make do without any Witches riders!
  22. Well, it's raining already in Ipswich and if the forecast is even remotely accurate I'd be surprised if its not called off by lunchtime !
  23. Try as I might i can't find an optimistic weather forecast anywhere for tomorrow , it's certainly not looking good to for seeing some speedway 2 weeks in a row . Mind you , that's pat for the course this season anyway !
  24. So they are, can't see Cook riding for Glasgow that night then. Mind you it does mean they can get any guest in the league with his average as it is.
