Slightly changing the subject , does anyone in the know have any insider knowledge of how the team is lining up on Thursday ? We definitely need to protect Taylor till he's fully up to speed and also does anyone know the timescale on Daks return ? -

Well , been away on hols for a couple of weeks and come back to some interesting debates . Rohan should do ok at no1 as he's won a few races from the no2 position anyway but the averages are currently incredibly close so if Leigh does pick his game up he could well end up the season at no1 again . I still don't think we have it in our locker to really achieve anything this season as there are too many strong teams out there ! Things do really need a good shake up for next season though and you would have thought with all his connections in the sport Chris Louis ought to be able to find some more talent like Rohan to bring in ! Well here's hoping !!! -
Mildenhall V Stoke - Sunday 8th July
Super Blue replied to PhilK's topic in National League Speedway
Weather forecast is seriously not looking promising for this one ( long periods of rain predicted during the day) . I'm going for a home win for the Tigers but can't decide by how many as neither team is lining up as it would want . The loss and use of r/r for Richie W will obviously have an impact for Stoke and Jo Jo returning straight into team for the Tigers with no practice could be a big mistake or an inspired decision ? The reserves could be quite influential in this meeting as well with the loss of Nathan probably having the most impact ( no disrespect to Joe Graver of course ) . Also Ben Reade seems to be flying at the moment ! All in all , looking forward to a good meeting as long as it goes ahead ( here's hoping ) -
Scunthorpe V Mildenhall - Friday, June 29th (nl) 7.30pm

Such a shame as Nathan was really beginning to show his potential , hope it heals quickly for him , young bones do mend alot faster at his age than mine ( 50+ ) This is a massive loss for the Tigers though , finding a replacement of his talent for a reserve berth in this league will be nigh on impossible ! Anyway , well done on the win last night and a speedy recovery for Nathan !!! -

Well I've been going to Foxhall on and off for 35+ years and ive never seen such a lack of passion within a Witches team ! Even in some of the dark days of massive strings of consecutive defeats the effort was always there if not the quality . I really do fear for future of this club as I think this season is pretty much gone ! I seriously hope I'm wrong about that and I suppose time will tell ! If the likes of Scunny have a bad spell then strengthen their team why are we not doing something similar ? I know there will be those who will ask me what I would do but it's not my job to make those decisions ! Quite simply if a team isn't performing something has GOT to be done !!! If I don't do my job properly I would be sacked , so do something now !!!!! -

Is it allowed to open a book for taking bets on here ? ( only kidding ) because if it was I would love to know the odds for Pedersen being responsible for the most crashes ? He is seriously one rider who gives others hard riding but can't take it himself . You always know when an incident is his fault ( he wags his finger ) ! For me ABP to win ( Anyone But Pedersen ) !!! -

I see on Taylor Poole's Twitter he's planning on having a practice next week , I'm guessing probably after the Workie meeting ? Will be good to see him on a bike again ! -

Well I'm certainly not happy with mid table mediocrity ! I honestly believed we had built a team that could go places this year with every rider certainly capable of winning races . I know we've had the horrendous injury problems but for the most part I think it's big time underperforming that's the issue and not the lack of ability ! And just to put my 2 pence worth in , I would still go and support the team whatever league we are in and where we happen to be in that league ! ( however unhappy I may be about it ) -

Somebody mentioned the PL 4's , what is the criteria for who's in it then ? For a team not to be selected to defend their title is ridiculous ! -

Certainly an eventful GP . Well done Jason ! At least my personal Motto held up in the end . And that is " ABP should win " That means " ANYONE BUT PEDERSEN " !!!!! -

I'd be almost tempted to take that swap if i was in the Ipswich management , Lasse was always good value for his points and an exciting rider to boot . He was never a regular maximum man for the Witches but neither was he 4 pt a meeting man either , he did however have the ability to beat anyone ( and i do mean anyone ) around Foxhall on his day ! Still not a true no1 but someone who could actually win in heat 13 or 15 . Hmmm , definite food for thought me thinks Shame but as others point out the averages just dont add up ! -
My apologies to the Tigers for doubting them . WELL DONE on the win . ( think i had my cynical Witches hat on at the time ) What a superb all round performance with everyone chipping in . Might have been a tad different had this line up had faced Stoke or Dudley though . Always happy to admit when i was wrong when you get a result like this !
-
I'm afraid I can't see any kind of scoreline other than similar to what the Witches just conceded , good luck to the Tigers but without the Cam/Joe spearhead and no logical replacement booked ( no disrespect to Aaron ) I just don't see the rest of the lads having the firepower to keep it close . I hope I'm wrong !
-
My choice would have been any proven no1 , however as ive obviously misunderstood the rules on who could be used { ie , the stupid bspa NEG ruling } im a big enough person to take it back ! What the hell is the reasoning behind not being eligable to guest just because youve had a PL average of over 4 ? I mean what difference does it make ? If any riders current average is below the injured riders one he should be allowed to guest imo . But its all about opinions i suppose !
-
Im not particularly bothered whether the worlds opinion agrees with mine over Ash being a 2nd string rider or not but when you have the choice of every rider in the NL to replace Cam i would still take a no1 like Roynon or somebody similar . Its a no brainer , when you have the highest average rider injured get the best replacement possible ! I have no doubt Ash would not have let anyone down and hes a very talented kid but i still think my point is valid . Sorry if you got the wrong idea but Ash is not your no1 is he ? Form yes , fast yes but in Mildenhalls position who would you choose as a guest given the entire league to pick from ? Btw the Witches , my first team are a side made up entirely of 2nd string riders which is precisely the reason they wont win a thing this season ( just getting in 1st before anyone decides to have a pop ) And thanks Shadders !
-
£16 covers both meetings apparently , when I emailed Mr Silver he said he has always made it clear that the 2nd meeting in double headers is effectively free . All very well if one frequents the Rye website which I don't but imo very good value for money ! I hope to be there but won't be wasting fuel or money if there's any doubt in my mind of the likely completion of both meets . I've never been to Rye before so what's parking and facilities like ? Also will the postcode take me right there on sat nav ? As a side issue , does anyone know why Ash Morris been asked to guest ? lets be honest Heeps has highest average in the NL so Mildenhall could have asked anybody to come in , why choose a 2nd string over a No1?

Looking at weather forecast tomorrows meet at Rye is looking seriously unlikely as well ! I suppose if that's off as well it at least gives Cam more chance to recover from his injury . -

The track in the nice weather was awful last week until it dried out a bit , then it came to Mildenhall who managed to claw it back to get the 3 league points . Hopefully the track staff will get it right this week . I think its going to be a tight one all the way unlike the huge home wins in the playoff final last year . Mildenhall for me but not by many because Joe and Josh will be seriously missed ! -

Some interesting partnerships here , will be very keen to see how this lineup pans out ! Hopefully being a 7 man team will be a positive thing but we can't expect too much out of Morten for a few weeks and lets see if the move to reserve can help Tres's confidence a bit . I must admit looking at the averages we could see all sorts of partners for Cam before the end of the season . -
Neither of the Raiders reserves would have scored their averages had it not been for an engine seizure and an eccentric refereeing decision in heat 2 !
-
BIZARRE ! Half of Mildenhall team appear to have lost the ability to ride their own track without falling off ! Doubled with ref making up rules as he goes along ! ( Heat 2 ) Its going to be a tough one for the Tigers . 7 heats gone and more engine gremlins ! At least the sun is out .

Well , got home a few mins ago and I've got to say , what a cracking afternoons entertainment for the money !!! Granted not all the racing was spectacular but all went pretty smoothly and some fine performances by some very young lads ! Weather was good and all in all I seriously hope this event comes back next season . Please
