Anyway , back to the meeting , on Cookies previous visit he was rivaling Rene Bachs record for the most jumped starts and getting away with it , so hopefully he can achieve the same for us ! Although the curse of the Witches no1 race jacket can strike anyone at anytime , so we will have to wait and see .

I think Cook is a good choice of guest as Doyle is obviously busy with Birmingham ( not that im sure he would want to ride here again after his confrontation with Morten ) Hopefully this should be plain sailing into the cup semi where we will find much more difficult opposition ! As it's already a rearrangement lets hope the weather is kind and we get this one out of the way .

Ipswich Vs Somerset Thursday 16th May 7.30pm Pl

Having printed out my score sheet for this one and looked through the various match ups there could be some decent racing . You do however have to believe Doyle will get the vast majority of his points if not all from his 6 rides but its difficult to see where too many more are going to come from . After all , in the League cup meeting the other 5 Somerset riders only accrued 17 pts between them ! The missing Morris can only be a big loss for them . I'm hoping/expecting a reasonably comfortable home win with everyone staying safe but you can be sure the Rebels will be hell bent on making up for their last performance at Foxhall ! -

Well , I heard Makinen was in the pits at Leicester helping out ! It does make you wonder if he's going to return ? -

Well done to half the team , not sure what to say about the rest ! -
As a footnote on Mortens performance , he is a confidence rider as has been said before . While browsing the updates site I noticed he has had a couple of good performances in Denmark on the 1st and 3rd may including outscoring the phenomenal superstar MJJ in one ( huh hmm ) Did well in Denmark and came back and looked like a different rider on Monday . Perhaps he should try this more often !

That probably sums up either your physical or perhaps mental age Worky"BOY" to be iterating the previous sarcasm ! -

Whatever the circumstances that occurred the celebration of " Great! " to someones misfortune is uncalled for ! I understand it was a first time home texter who is obviously very biased but more constructive comments would have appreciated . However the Witches simply weren't good enough and we're well beaten by the better team . Again well done to the Comets . -

When was the last time Workington lost a home meeting ? I would say they are definitely one of the better teams in the league but to go from a 20 pt defeat away and then turn in a 32 pt home win against the same team shows a massive home track advantage ! Don't get me wrong , fair play to them on a superb turnaround and they took full advantage of a dire Witches performance . Ipswich have a long way to go if they are to compete for anything this season and this result proves that big time ! -

Yup , well done to Workington , their home advantage appears to be far greater than ours ! I know the texters and updaters on the updates site are using their own phones but " seriously " ? ' Woop Woop ' ' Woo Hoo ' and then ' Great ! ' to Bens engine failure are hardly constructive comments . Given the form Cams been in please let him be OK . -
Cracking result tonight and a good points return from everyone ! Doyle a great choice of guest , scored well but showed that the Witches no1 race jacket is capable of stopping even him from getting a max . The victory could have been even bigger had the constant " jumping the start " by the Workington riders been called back a few times . A special mention and well done to Ritchie Hawkins on his return this evening , no last places for someone out of practice to me was remarkable . Also for MJJ fan clubs benefit , Rene spent most of his time at the Bach apart from when he got flyers from the gate ! I still think this tie is far from over and hope the Witches can progress to the next round , Workington are a completely different proposition on their own track ! Side issue , does anyone know if Ben Barkers OK as he withdrew from the Brit semi finals after 3 rides ???

I have to admit im finding it pretty tough to believe the weather forecast for rain , it's a bright clear warm sunny day with absolutely no sign of a rain cloud whatsoever . Foxhall however does famously have it's own micro climate once you get through the turnstiles so it could be snow or a tropical storm to contend with !

I agree as far as Foxhall is concerned about the no1's , Doyle has looked unbeatable and Cook is infinitely better than Lawson here . I really don't think Hawkins will do much in his first couple of meetings due to lack of track time . A couple of points would be nice though . I think you'll find Nielsen might calm down a bit tonight and stay on board , he was a tad too keen last time out . Bach also has a liking for the Ipswich track as he proved last year . I would think and hope the Witches can gain enough of a lead to at least make a match of it in Cumbria but the weather is predicted to be wet this evening and after last weeks postponement one never knows if it will even happen . Having said im really looking forward to the meeting .

Its an absolute joke ! Ipswich speedway does absolutely bloody nothing to help themselves and their customer service bleeding sucks !! They had my money approximately 30 seconds when it was called off and do you think they would give it back ? Would they f**k ! I know they can't help the weather or what the ref decides but seriously they need to start thinking about keeping what few customers they have left happy ! I know I will use the readmission ticket but my son may not get the chance because of other commitments ! Come on Louis , start treating you're customers the way I'm sure you would like to be treated , with a little respect ! Rant over .
