Am I correct in my assumption that now Adam has sadly broken his wrist that we can only use a NL guest for him ? If so what is the criteria that determines the level of rider we can draw on ? Side issue , does anyone know if Morten is ok after his withdrawal from the PLRC on Sunday ?

I certainly dont support the playoffs even though the Witches finished 2nd . Im sure had there been no playoff system the last meaningful meeting of the season between Somerset and Ipswich would have been contested by full strength teams to decide the champions . Personally im just looking forward to some additional meetings in the hope my team can pull something out of the bag . As I said im no fan but that's the way the league is set up so we have to live with it .

Really sorry about the extent of Adams injury and I hope he makes a speedy recovery to ride for us again asap . Jonny , please pass on the best wishes from all Witches fans to Adam for us .

I think you find Somerset will win the playoffs anyway . They are definitely the strongest team in the league .
-
Lets hope it's not too bad then as I believe it's only a NL guest for the lowest average reserve ?

Pleased with the 12pt lead but is it enough ? Not sure . Track was always going to play a big part in tonights meeting after the rain . Ben , poor night and we can't blame his injury any more after two double figure scores for Brum in the last week . Cam , another good night in keeping with this season . Ronan , a good evening with only one poor race . Leigh , decent enough meeting , always looking solid . Morten , good night , joint top score and showed that he can ride away from the white line when necessary . let's hope he can do the business from 5 in the away leg . Adam , unfortunately looked out of his depth tonight on the dodgy track and it showed in his lack of points . Ritchie , 7 paid 10 return and seems to be coming good at the right time . For the Diamonds Rosen seems to be quite a find , Lindgren scored well , Worrall below par , Tully a poor night , Kerr chipped in and Schrammy is Schrammy as we all know at Ipswich , a good win followed by poor races . All to play for in the 2nd leg now .

Some blue sky kicking about over Foxhall so absolutely no doubt of it not going ahead as things stand . In stadium now , teams track walking , looks more like a meeting by the Witches on 3rd/4th bend . They have put additional material down and it doesn't look like a good surface to my untrained eye but what do I know .

Think I might have to go with the Bald wise one on this ! Im not feeling overly optimistic over 2 legs and although I believe Morten at 5 will probably be ok at home im certainly less comfortable with him there for the away leg . I originally thought Rohan would be a better no5 but he looks tired and jaded to me now so im not sure what the best line up would be any more . Would be nice to get something in the way of silverware this year and this is our arguably our best chance to get some . We will just have to see how things pan out , starting with the weather .

Somerset V Ipswich Monday 16/9

Might all come down to who wears the No 5 race jacket in the playoffs , one more point from there would have made all the difference last night ! -

Agree with everyone , well done to Somerset on finishing top , a very close run thing in the end last night although had both teams been at full strength I think the Rebels winning margin would have been greater , a shame from a Witches point of view that we couldn't take advantage of that but still all to play for in the playoffs . -
Well , I think all these arguments are going to be rather irrelevant . Much as it pains me to say this I believe the team that finishes top will also win the playoffs and I think that team will be Somerset because of their overall strength in depth . Although , from an Ipswich point of we have picked up some unexpected league points away from home this year so you never know how things will pan out . In my opinion however we have looked a tad jaded of late and Ben's injury could mean he's not fully up to speed , im just hoping the Witches can give a good account of themselves . My phone managed to do that all by itself in my pocket , full post available on line now , hey man just chilling !

Nobody and I mean nobody equals a track record on a poor track ! Most records at Fohall have been done in heat 1 and Thursdays was heat 5 so it certainly wasn't a bad track at all . Every circuit I've ever been to has patches of good and bad and Foxhall is no different . I've never been to Arse-adale but im certain it can't be as perfect as the Scotsman makes out ! None of them are !

Well , glad to get the 3 league points . Just ! A Cook master class tonight , totally untouchable . Ben , definitely off the pace , quite clearly not fully fit yet . Is it just me thinking this or are a few of the Witches looking a tad jaded as we approach the real business end of the season ? The last 2 home meets have been big wins but only against the poorer teams , I think we may end up struggling in the playoffs .
-
Cookie already produces enough hot air as previously proven without a heater being required . Im sure there will be 3 very interesting clashes between him and Ben for the fans to enjoy .
-
Im just trying to get my scoresheet populated and printed off in preparation for tonight . Previous slight disagreement over out of date programs btw . It's still very pleasant weather wise in town for anyone travelling down to this one , not cold at all at the moment so have a safe journey .

Any definitive news on the Edinburgh guest at reserve yet ?
-
So , who's in at reserve for Edinburgh then ? Whatever the choice could possibly have quite a bearing on the end result as we know reserve scoring can so often make the difference in a meeting .
-
Battered like the proverbial piece of cod from your local chippy springs to mind ! ( sorry haddock in Och aye the noo Ville ) A team is never going to win when only 3 riders have turned up ( scoring wise ) and lets be honest Edinburgh were alway going to up for this one big time after what happened at Foxhall with Cookie . The Witches have suffered a worse defeat this season at Worky and gone back to win on a second visit so all is not lost . Btw , the " let the excuses begin " comment from Nutz , is that directed at us on here or the Witches management ? I think you'll find most of us on here these days will accept defeat graciously and acknowledge that we lost to the better team which was obviously the case last night . Still , Thursday should be quite an interesting encounter now so bring it on and hopefully the weather will be kind to us .

Really , where did you get that from ? Cancel that question , just seen it on website . Wow that's a first , the Witches site with current news !!!
