  1. On my way to this fearing the worst after this afternoons performance, but I can always live in hope!
  2. Well, how bad was that ! The Witches totally forgot how to gate and ride their own track. Well done to Peterborough they took full advantage and thoroughly deserved the win.
  3. Not liking the weather at the moment , bloody cold and raining ! Hopefully a passing shower .
  4. Are you talking about The Royal George pub on Colchester road ? I'm only trying to help because as far as I'm aware we don't have a George and Dragon in Ipswich and I can't find anything in Brookhill way either .
  5. Does anyone know the exact riding order for both teams at both meetings ? Its going to be an expensive enough day without having to buy programs as well !
  6. Before the season started we all speculated on the make up of the team , so what do we think so far ? ( I know its early days ) Richie W , seems a really good signing . Just a shame he's going to miss some potentially important meetings with Elite league taking preference . Gino , what a cracking acquisition he seems to be with a superb start to the season . Morten , an enigma who will do well for us overall I think , brilliant one week awful the next . That's Morten for you though . Cam , currently remains a real concern for me with his fitness and subsequent lack of confidence , hope he can quickly regain both to get last season's form back . Ronan , OK so far , should hopefully be a consistent scoring heat leader for us but does have his not so good moments . Adam , superb start to the year and could well be pushing for a main team place sooner than later , long may it continue . Ritchie H , good start and I'm sure will be a consistent scorer all season , always on a bargain average . So , my opinion is , its been a very positive start and you never know , we may be in the mix for some silverware if we can stay injury free !
  7. A good win for the Witches tonight ! Ricky Wells did a good job as guest , scoring well . Gino proved what an astute signing he is . Morten is unpredictable but did get screwed over by Cam in ht 3 . Cam is currently a big concern for me with no confidence at all . Rohan did OK apart from destroying the tapes . Adam had 2 good wins and 2 random falls , bizarre . Ritchie certainly his bit in the victory . Overall pretty pleased with the teams performance !
  8. So , for this meeting the teams are advertised in alphabetical order on the Witches website . They obviously don't want us to print our own score sheets this season . Against Rye the teams were in average order . I wonder how many more different ways they can come up with to list the riders ( age , shoe size or inside leg measurements maybe ? ) I can't actually make this meeting but I was going to print a sheet to look at and fill in using updates while I'm away , I don't like guessing opposition riding orders .
  9. I will happily take any win that gives us all the points but it could be a close one .
  10. There are fish and chip forums out there for those so inclined !
  11. Yup, a pretty satisfying start against a team that won at Peterborough! Was disappointed with Rohan this evening and Cameron's slow start is only to be expected after his wrist op. Every one else performed well with our reserve pairing showing that they are going to be one of the strongest in the league!
  12. Well, there's plenty of water about after a storm in the early hours around Ipswich . Let's hope it stays dry enough today to enable decent track prep. It could be quite a close one tonight, I predict a narrow Witches win.
  13. Probably , i must admit I find paying £2.50 for what is predominantly advertisements a tad irritating , and in the past paying full price for out of date rain off programmes and getting a score sheet with them !
  14. Had to miss Mortens testimonials so looking forward to this as my first taste of speedway this year . Does anyone know if Rye's riding order is going to be the same as their meeting at Peterborough as I would like to populate my scoresheet ? I always like to look at some of the matchups in advance .
  15. I hear the law case about noise has reared its ugly head yet again and the stadium owners have lost the case! Should be ok to run this season but it's looking ominous for the future.
  16. So the New team manager is Chris Louis then. I did suspect he may end up doing it for 2 reasons. Firstly I do believe he's probably the best man for the job anyway and secondly, nobody else suitable was going to do the job unpaid were they?
  17. When Tresarrieu stays on his bike he's good to watch , unfortunately he's usually good for at least 1 off per meeting ( normally when surrounded by clean air ) . I once saw him fall off while practicing at Mildenhall with half the track to himself . An unusual riding style . Good luck to him though .
  18. Pete Simmons has quit as team manager! Personally I'm not too upset as I thought he made some very strange decisions with the use of reserves in certain meetings. I wonder who we will get instead?
  19. I was told the budget for this year was running low and that this work would be carried out next year instead , how true that is im not sure .
  20. That's a bit harsh , Joe doesn't have Cooks moto x background and is quite a lot younger!
  21. Well , after much cogitating here's my thoughts on the team . ( In my preferred riding order ) 1 Richie Worrall , certainly the best of the rest after Cookie and Ben B signed elsewhere and has the potential to put a bit on his average . A good solid signing . 2 Morten Risager , well Morten is Morten and should score reasonably at home but far too many away tracks where his white lining will achieve nothing . A steady middle order man though . 3 Cameron Heep's , with his new found gating ability last year he came on leaps and bounds and has the ability to up his game again . Should develop into a solid heat leader . 4 Gino Manzares , a cracking signing on assessed 5 average who could well put at least a couple on that during the season . looking forward to see him at Foxhall . 5 Rohan Tungate , needs to step it up this year and prove his heat leader status with the reserves . Can up his average a bit if he hits the ground running . 6 Adam Ellis , With new equipment under him hopefully he can improve on his win heat 2 and become anonymous habit of 2013 . certainly bags of potential though . 7 Ritchie Hawkins , a good solid reserve who came good at the end of 2013 season , a bargain on 3.96 average , a rider who could serve us well next season . All in all I think we have a team that could achieve some success but everyone will need to up their game for that to happen . Generally speaking I'm looking forward to next season but will hold back on any rash predictions of possible silverware until after all the league team lineups have been declared .
