Ok , so my spelling is shocking but I seem to recall some big fat zeros from him in the not too distant past including 1 meeting where in 4 rides he hardly completed a lap . My point was valid but also I said that he is more than capable of improvement , which I hope he does big time .

Having had a chance to cogitate on the team, at first I was little disappointed at a couple of the signings but now I'm a bit more positive. Danny King. Should be the true No1 we were all after and and as long as he maintains about a 9 average (hopefully more) he will definitely have done his job for us. Personally very glad to see him back. Rohan Tungate. If he can continue to improve his average from the No5 position then he will more than justify his inclusion in the side which I will honestly admit I was sceptical about. Gino Manzares. Looking forward to seeing him kick on next year and up his performance to become a true heatleader. Just needs to go with the flow and not over ride as he did at the end of this season. Cam Heeps. Needs to get back to his 2013 form after being hampered by injury and possible confidence issues this year. Should hopefully have a good year and I'm more than happy with his inclusion in the lineup. Ritchie Hawkins. Wasn't initially enamoured with him being named in the team because I don't really see much room for improvement but on reflection a solid 5pt+ man is always good to have. Stefan Nielsen. A little surprised at first with his inclusion but he definitely is capable of upping his average, although he has had some very poor nights at Foxhall in the last couple of seasons. Nico Covatti. Bargain coming in on 4.19. Looked superb in the 2013 16lapper before tiring. On decent equipment should improve to a 7ish average imo. Don't think he will be at reserve long. Well chuffed with his signing. So, if Danny, Rohan and Ritchie can at least maintain their averages and Gino, Cam, Stefan and Nico improve on theirs I see no reason why we shouldn't have a reasonable to good season. Whether we will be good enough to win silverware, only time will tell. I'm just looking forward to seeing some real competitive racing in 2015!

Well, I'm pleased with 5 of the team and not so happy about 2 of them. I think the side overall will do reasonably well but it's not a trophy winning one in my opinion. Will go into some depth later when I've had a chance to take it in and not supposed to be working.

The one day I'm actually interested in something that's in the paper and it doesn't come through my door at about 6-15 as it usually does, typical! You might beat me to it yet CardinalSin. Let the drum roll begin.
-
All I will say is the last 2 had better at least have potential to improve and not be has beens . If Covatti was to be one of them I believe he could be a 6 to 7 point rider come the end if the season . However there still may be a surprise in store in the morning .

Bum fluff! I see Morten has signed for Plymouth.

Morten ?

So, slowly but surely quite a few of the better options for our last 2 are slowly being named in other teams. Why don't they just get it over with and name them? I certainly don't see any major new face riders coming on board with the assessed 7 reg in place and I hardly think the names will inspire loads of people to suddenly rush to get a season ticket! Are they just trying to delay the onslaught of negative reactions?
-
An armchair fan turned team manager? Interesting choice, will he be an inspirational leader and make all the right tactical changes when required? Time will tell
-
Im rather afraid when the last 2 riders are named im going to be a tad disappointed with the team overall . Im sure Louis will have had the opportunity to put together a truly competitive team but I don't think it's going to be one . At best a nearly but not quite team !

Where Next For Oliver Allen?
Super Blue replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If you're talking about Olly ( fell,ex, withdrawn ) Allen im guessing the local hospital A&E dept is the most likely location ! -
A rider averaging 2.14 is going to be shocking though! How about Makinen, he only averaged about 0.6 for us. Only joking. Don't think Louis will be going down that route somehow.
-
So the stuff flying around on twitter about Wells last night was the old proverbial red Herring then! Unless Louis comes up with a real find who can up his average like Steve Worrall did this year the team will win precisely " Jack Sh1te " again in 2015.
-
Well today's paper says Tungate , Heeps , Manzares and Hawkins confirmed . Let the opinions flow .
-
If Louis gives us a sh1te team and increases the price it's unlikely I will attend all meetings, will probably just pick and choose.
-
Unfortunately I think you're right.
-
Deleted duplicate post .

Most of the latest proposed teams on here have mid table mediocrity written all over them I fear ! A big name No1 needs the back up of other team members that can improve their averages . I see improvements in Heeps and Manzares but not too many of the others .
-
Mortens favorite track is Plymouth I think , he always seems to score well there ! Hopefully shouldn't be too long now before all the speculation stops when the rest of the team is announced .
-
Really? He arrived with a reputation as a racer 2 seasons ago and IMO hasn't really delivered. He's only put one and a half points on his average in that time. He suddenly learns how to gate at the end of the year for a few meetings and now he's the best thing since sliced bread and everyone wants him in their team. Sorry but I don't see him improving that much myself. If he is in the side and proves me wrong I will gladly eat some humble pie though .
-
If Worralls not at Ipswich next year the management must be bloody mad! He asked to join the Witches and promptly lost nearly 1.5 off his average over the season. The least he could do is stick around and give us a decent years racing and prove 2014 was just a poor one.
-
Within the next week is what Chris Louis said in the local paper . Did you fancy a change of name on here then Baldy ?
-
So, Danny King is confirmed as our new No1 in today's paper. No real surprise as it had been much speculated. Personally I'm pretty happy with him as a start now Chris Louis just needs to get things right with other 6 riders who he expects to name within the next week or so. Watch this space.

Opinions on a true No1 will obviously be very diverse, I just want the Witches one to be as good as possible and be hitting almost guaranteed double figure scores at every home meeting. I don't see Tungate or the likes of Masters doing that.
-
He may have done well this year but as a No1 im not so sure .
