  1. You really not going to either meeting ?
  2. So when GB and USA get knocked out on Thursday will there realistically be enough time for men and machines to get back from Denmark for the Peterborough meeting ? You can be sure that Danny and Gino's best bikes will be over there with them .
  3. Anyone know how Cams injury is progressing ? It's been 4 weeks since he broke his wrist and apparently original predictions were 5 to 6 weeks for a possible return ?
  4. Alot of the old water to go under the bridge before the cup matches , Ipswich have one date in July available and and both teams have consecutive days on 13th and 14th August free . Im guessing that's gonna be when it will happen and by then who knows how things will have changed .
  5. Using reverse logic, I predict a monumentally big home win and hope for the best.
  6. So we are in a position to get anyone in the league guest wise apart from Steady who's injured anyway and there's hardly anybody available because all the decent one's are already riding! Happy days I think I might revise my thoughts on going to the away Peterborough fixture .
  7. Looking at the scenarios , if GB reach the final at first attempt Danny probably will miss both our meetings because no doubt Friday will be a practice day , if they don't then Thursday is run off and would he make it back for friday if we don't make it through , not sure ? At least Ginos position is more likely to be clear , even with Greg in the team I doubt USA would finish top 2 in the qualifier so he should be around for both our meetings . Either way I hope we can secure a good guest and not get one on the cheap , im planning on doing Newcastle at home and Peterborough away and don't want to be short changed as they say !
  8. Wasn't it ht12 last year before a result could stand ? Or was that the year before ? I get confused with all the rule changes !
  9. Mondays farce at Coventry has prompted me to start this thread. Are the current crop of referees really up to the job at the moment is my main question? On Monday she quite clearly had no say or input into whether the meeting continued or stopped when she should have had full control over proceedings! Personally I have seen at least 3 meetings live this season where the overall quality of refereeing and decisions has been absolutely diabolical! We can all quote the odd error in judgement in a specific race or meeting but to me it seems like it's becoming more and more prevalent. Are the refs in control overall and making the right decisions or not?
  10. I've not read all the current 43 pages on this thread so please forgive me if this has already been covered but does a football match result stand if its called off after 60 minutes (2/3rds) of its allocated time ? No it doesn't and formula 1 Grand Prix racing only awards 1/2 points if a race is curtailed before it run its course ! The 10 heat rule definitely requires looking at . This meeting was only run because sky were there and should never have happened . It turned into a total farce and shame on the sport (if you can call it a sport) for allowing it to descend to new levels of incompetence !
  11. " CWABH the idiot " an interesting but meaningful choice of name , to some of us !
  12. Danny King is pretty much the first and only true out and out No1 we've had since we've dropped down to the premier league . A leader that can actually go out a win a few Ht1's , Im very glad we got him on board . On the rest of the current team so far this year , Gino , injury hampered but lots of potential hopefully now improving . Cam , slow start also injury problems , need to step it up on his return . Ritchie , injury and bike issues , new engine on the way and hopefully more points ? Nico , as I said heat leader in reserve position , ,great value , great signing ! Stefan , doing pretty much what's expected of a reserve , scoring a few here and there . Rohan , either brilliant or rubbish , still not sure how the hell he got an 8+ average considering the lines he rides at Foxhall . Can't quite work him out im afraid . Overall teamwise a poor start to the season but on the up now ? Time will tell .
  13. Well , Redcar certainly made us look good tonight , no disrespect intended but they really are a poor team this year . The only one who seemed to have any speed was Robbo and he binned it a couple of times . On the Witches side it was good to see Gino and Ritchie amongst the points tonight , Danny was imperious again and Nico showed what a shrewd signing he was ! Rohan still for me remains a concern , although he scored 10 points he didn't appear particularly quick and rides some really strange lines round Foxhall ! Thanks to James Sarjeant guesting for Stefan and personally I thought he was better value than the 4pts he actually got . On Stefan , I'd like to congratulate him on qualifying in Terenzano this evening for the World U21 final !!
  14. Might be tough to get the track right for this one, bright sunshine and warm one minute, cloud cover cool and breezy the next. At least it's not supposed to rain tonight though.
  15. True, it's a 5-30 kick off as well but to be honest Arsenal v Aston villa shouldn't be the biggest of priorities for the majority of people round this part of the world. I know a few Arsenal fans but they are not Speedway followers.
  16. It will be interesting to see what sort of crowd we get for this meeting , the regulars obviously but will there be a few extra youngsters around given its a Saturday with no school the next day ? Im also now quite looking forward to it after winning at Redcar , lets hope the track can be prepared to suit our own team and we gain a few more league points !
  17. Very pleasantly surprised with the result , almost stopped looking at updates with 3 races left but the 4-2 in ht 13 kept me interested . Im still very uneasy about the Witches prospects this season because of the massive swings of form and riders fragile mindsets but to win after being 6pts down so late in the meeting I've got to give credit where it's due ! Im now looking forward to to the return fixture at Foxhall on Saturday in the hope we can master our own track once again , something that's been sadly missing in our last 2 attempts there .
  18. This could be the meeting where you suddenly find some form , virtually every other team seems to when they face the Witches ! Forever the pessimist .
  19. Going by your recent predictions Mr CWABH (private joke), for example "we'll hit 60" against Sheffield and easily beat Berwick I think I'll go for a big home win and hope for the best on this one!
  20. Well , although the win at Plymouth and progression in the league cup is obviously very welcome it does absolutely nothing to inspire me whatsoever with the Witches at the moment . To be perfectly honest virtually every team thats gone there has won and with them only having one reserve it should only ever have been a comfortable victory . There still appears to be a number of underlying problems within the ranks of the Witches ( from management down ) that seriously need sorting out starting with the ability to be able to ride their own track ! Personally I've always seen Foxhall as a traditionally shaped circuit that's always been prepared fairly for both teams but of late it's been prepared very grippy and we just can't handle it ! For the Witches to win anything Foxhall needs to become a fortress and if I was in charge I'd make damn sure the track was in perfect condition for my team ! As far as the team is concerned some of them just haven't come to the party yet , also physical and mental strength appears to be lacking which needs to be addressed pronto ! Inspirational leadership is also paramount to any success in my opinion . Im not convinced the current team manager fulfills that criteria with some strange decisions particularly on reserve switches or lack of them . Continuing on the leadership front much as it pains me to say it having your team captain leading from the back is not the best motivation for the rest of the side , Ritchie needs to step it up a gear or two to get the team firing in all cylinders as they say . That's my current assessment of the situation so over to the rest of you to shoot me down .
  21. I had to look up "Arm pump" . Seriously ? Did he quote this somewhere or am I missing something ? And where the he'll did that suddenly spring from ? There's still some serious underlying problems that need to be sorted out on and off that track and we definitely need to start getting the rub of the green with a few favourable refereeing decisions !
  22. Where do we start then ? Well done to Berwick is a good a place as any . A combination of factors contributed to the overall defeat tonight . It was an eventful evening to say the least . 1, some pretty poor refereeing decisions early on for the exclusions of Gino and Rohan ! 2, yet again the total inability to ride our own track ! 3, some very inept performance's from a few of the Witches . 4, underestimating the opposition ? 5, the total incompetence of the team manager ! What on earth possessed him to leave Nielsen in heat 14 beggars belief , Hawkins had looked pretty good in his previous ride , at least attacking the track while Nielsen had binned it in his and looked uncomfortable all night , and what happens he bins in on the same bend again . Unbelievable . Some serious questions need to be asked as to what the hell is going on ??? I was gonna say by this time tomorrow our season could be effectively over but that might be a little premature , but only just !
  23. Barker, Doolan, Jorgensen and Vissing are all more than capable of scoring a few round Foxhall so I don't think it's as much of a foregone conclusion as people seem to think.
  24. That's what we thought against Sheffield, we are more than capable of screwing up at anytime, especially if the track prep is wrong!
