Ipswich V Berwick
Super Blue replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Will we need a guest for Danny, he's just withdrawn from Kings Lynn v Coventry meeting, aggravated previous injury. -
As a very cynical realistic Witches fan I'd say it's Plymouths 6th place unless they screw up at home on a level as achieved only by Ipswich this season!

Let's be honest here, we could and probably ought to turn this into a 2016 thread as the Witches season is effectively over now. There's no way on this planet we're going to beat Edinburgh over 2 legs and we probably won't even make the playoffs so we will end up as the team of mid table mediocrity that I predicted after our first couple of poor home performances. I must admit that my thoughts are definitely turning to what might have been had the potential that the current team has had come to fruition. The only 2 positives really have been Danny and Nico with Danny at least being the true No1 we've been looking for and Nico proving he was not the rider that gained a 4 average last season. Truthfully everyone else has turned out to be a letdown only showing an occasional spark of their capabilities (and mostly away from Foxhall when they did) To sum up a most disappointing season and I think most of us will agree that we need to be looking ahead to putting a team together for next year that firstly has the potential to improve but mainly has riders that can actually ride their own track as that's where this season has gone totally t*ts up!

Plymouth V Witches (07/08/15)
Super Blue replied to JamesB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I get the impression that the current Plymouth team is a tad different from the one the Witches turned over in the league cup match. Think I'll be happy if we can get something out of this one given the absence of a couple of key team members. -
Ipswich V Scunthorpe 30- 7- 15
Super Blue replied to Baldyman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Raining again 4-45pm over other side of town -
I suppose after watching it a few more times I do finally have to admit that it's totally the ref's fault for not excluding Auty in the first place. If by what we've seen Tungate is deemed to have hit Auty deliberately then the same camera view evidence must also conclude that he hit Tungate deliberately and should not even have been in the rerun. Therefore in conclusion me-lord I call for the accused to be completely exonerated and the referee to be locked up for a minimum of 10 years without parole. I rest my case .

I really think it's time to see the incident if anyone genuinely has footage. I know it will still all be about opinions and only Rohan will know if he meant it but there's a hell of alot of bias on here and we ( Joe public ) need to see it for ourselves before condemning riders to be hung drawn and quartered.

Some interesting views posted on here , unfortunately due to personal reasons I was unable to attend but from others that were there I gather it was a decent meeting with some good racing . An odd contentious decision , a few points gifted to the opposition and an inspired Cookie monster appear to have conspired to yet again prevent a home win for that Witches . Was this really the same Craig Cook that guested so pathetically for the Wiitches just a few weeks ago ? 6pts scored for us , 15 pts and a new track record when riding against us ! Hmmm , no comment is the diplomatic response me thinks . Ah well , onwards and upwards to mid table mediocrity .

Peterborough Panthers V Redcar Bears
Super Blue replied to peterborough daz's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Even with a weakened team you should still have more than enough to walk all over Redcar , as long as young Master Lambert makes it back from Cardiff ! -
Not much in the way of reactions on here today, including myself till now. It was pretty much what I expected really result wise but it was also nice to see Ash Morris get a few points on the board Although pleasing to get a comfortable win I wouldn't exactly say all is rosy in the garden quite yet, Danny, looked dominant again but is prone to an occasional bike issue . Cam, good to see him back and score a few, wonder how his wrist stood up to it? Gino, still appears slightly short of top gear but going in the right direction. Rohan, why oh why does he ride such horrible lines at Foxhall? Nico, cracking racer, gives his all and a fully deserving of rider the meeting. Stefan, did exactly what's required of him, shame about bike problem . Ash, well done on his debut. Must now wait and see how we go against better opposition at home.

If this goes ahead ( weather) it could be an interesting encounter with the new Witches riding order and a new recruit on board. Welcome Ash Morris! Also I'm sure the Devils will come with a new found confidence having triumphed over Peterborough at the showground on Sunday. Hopefully after all the recent fantastic weather the predictions of thunderstorms on Thursday are unfounded , we get a decent meeting and a confidence building win for the Witches. I'll go for a 50-40 home win although I think it ought to be bigger than that in reality.

Speaking of track prep , didn't CL say hes been doing it this season as opposed to Bob Ellis ? Hope Bob's getting on ok with his recovery after the stock car accident btw . Makes you wonder though why the tracks been so inconsistent . I know the weather for one or two meetings has had an impact but most of the team have really struggled to adapt to conditions resulting in poor performances . Puzzling !

Perhaps it's the first Prem League fixture we will have had a full 1-7 riders ? However , on the face of it when even when we've had a 6 man team probably only 4 at most have really properly turned up , hence our current league position ! I just hope we can start to turn our season around and finish in the top 6 to give those at the top something to think about when the playoff picks come around . Lets think positive . Come on , it's time to get our season up and running !!!

Change your name to " Grumpy Sod the Glass Half Empty Chap " Baldy , that should please a few on here .

Damn , I completely forgot about it , will also have to wait for iPlayer or something , if anyone finds a repeat somewhere please let us know where it is ?

Wonder who the new captain will be ? Let me think , Danny is the only possible choice and im sure will lead from the front . Lets be honest here , it's been hard to lead from the back for Ritchie when you're not scoring or setting an example to the younger riders .
-
All confirmed in this mornings paper . Ihave to admit that I thought the move down to reserve would have brought the points and confidence to kick start Ritchie's season but it wasn't to be . Interesting that he says he just didn't get started this season listing the following as reasons for quitting - His crash in his first race Bike problems all season Doesn't hit it off with Phil Hilton at meetings He goes on to say wearing a Witch is not easy as Ipswich are still a big club with with a big history and a defeat is blown out of all proportions . It's been too negative at times . I wonder how much he reads on here ? Good luck to Ritchie in whatever he does or wherever his next move is in life ! Ashley Morris in to replace him also confirmed , a young lad with a future IMO who I was surprised to see dumped by Plymouth when he was just getting back into his racing following injury . Im certainly looking forward to see him race and welcome him to the fold .
-
Ash Morris currently 4.00 is a good shout , would fit straight away unless he's already found a new team place since being dumped by Plymouth ?

What would Castagna come in on ?
