  1. Either that or maybe tell him to far cough. That's opposite to a cough near you.
  2. Think that might be all dependant on whether the other stand has re-opened.
  3. I know there's much talk of radical changes within the hierarchy and status of Ipswich for next season and with that thought in mind do we really think that there will be anything more than the odd little tweak with the team this year? I certainly don't, that's for sure! Greenwood for Ritchings was never going to change anything. Would having Tungate or Heeps this year have made a difference, Nope. We don't have a track that anybody seems to like riding, apart from a very select few and for whatever reason they have never been signed up. As others have said I think we just need to give up on this campaign with the hope that better things are on the horizon for 2017. Also not forgetting the fact that there may not be be many fans left to actually see us go into this new era, apart from maybe a few of us aging diehards from the glory years! Sad times at the moment for a once great and powerful speedway team.
  4. Hmm, a number of thoughts spring to mind after attending this meeting. Peterborough were well up for it and fully deserving of the win all the way. Cookie obviously would improve any team in the PL, being very quick anyway and his uncanny knack of getting away with the odd roller. And Simon Lambert, what a shift the lad put in between 2 meetings yesterday and a real trump card while he remains in a reserve position. However they are currently stronger than they will be due to a couple of reasons. Round the showground Hansen is much better than NBJ and no way on the planet would Tom Perry have scored anywhere near what RR did last night. My opinion only but I reckon you can take at least 10 pts off the Panthers final total. In the end it wouldn't have made a sods worth of difference because the Witches simply aren't good enough this year. However we were treated to some very good racing at times and The Witches were given a few gating lessons early on. Let's be honest here, the only reason it was close last week is a couple of the Panthers were off their game.
  5. Let's hope both teams No1's make it back from Manchester unscathed and don't have a wasted journey. Having missed last weekends close league cup encounter I'm looking forward to attending my first away meeting of the season and hopefully the weather won't ruin it. With the Witches ridiculously indifferent start to season always in the back of my mind I'm cautiously but optimistically going for at least a point or maybe more out of the meeting. Having now said that we'll probably get battered like the manky fish at Rye House, very badly indeed! EOES, here we come.
  6. We'd need to be Eggheads to find an answer to our problems!
  7. And then of course we'll have to " Take a look at the old scoreboard " To see the results.
  8. Now you're showing your age Baldy.
  9. I've actually been contemplating going to this given the sensible starting time on a Sunday as opposed to an 8pm on a bank holiday Monday but with the distinctly poor competitiveness of the current Witches side and the total irrelevance of the meeting I'm not really sure it's worth it. Ritchie Hawkins has already said that the riders can use it as preparation to try out some things for the League match on Monday week so all I can see from this is a huge home win. Obviously I hope it's not and just maybe I might be proved wrong? Maybe not, no its never going to happen!
  10. Well, we won just! Against basically a 3 man team and totally underwhelming as It was pretty poor overall. At this rate we'll be lucky to finish in the top 13 in the league Let alone the top 6 . I'm not going to bother to comment on individual performances as there's nothing much worth talking about! Nuff said, good night.
  11. I like your optimism with the way we've been riding lately.
  12. Well it's time the Witches started to get a few points on the board in the Premier League and I think this is the meeting to do it in. Will Ollie, the new recruit manage to score a few, will the new riding order make a difference, will the track be any good, will Danny get his arse in gear and score like we know he should be doing? If not I can see us staring at yet another defeat in the face! Just a few of the questions crossing my mind and I'm sure others as well. It's certainly not the strongest Monarch's side I've ever seen and I would like to think comparing man for man that a home win is on the cards but as we all know the Foxhall track and the Witches are very much an enigma this season so anything is possible! Suppose we'll know sometime after 9-00pm on Thursday. Here's hoping.
  13. Unfortunately the root of our problems isn't gonna be cured by a simple change of the 3pts reserve. There are definitely consistency issues within the top 5 and our home track has has been crap for years now providing no home advantage whatsoever. And whilst I appreciate it not down to lack of effort because all the riders want to earn as much money as possible there's obviously major problems which I certainly don't have the answer to!
  14. Let's just hope that if more changes do become necessary (which does look rather likely) that they are done in a timely fashion so that we might have some hope of getting close to the top six in the league.
  15. Well, not exactly my definition of big news but will welcome the lad and wish him all the best and hopefully he'll pick up a few points to help us on our way.
  16. We haven't got Mountains in East Anglia so he can't be that local, boom boom!
  17. According to Mr Bacon on twitter there's some big Witches news coming tomorrow. I'm not going to hold my breath that it's anything exciting though.
  18. CBA to go to this one, would normally but becoming disillusioned.
  19. Do you have warning points from the forum police Macca? They look so nice by ones name! I got a short ban and warning points for persistently? starting up new perfectly valid threads. Well twice anyway. Bizarre! You'll have to let us know what you said either by pm or next time at Foxhall?
  20. I like the BSPA website, it shows the rearranged meeting against Edinburgh on the 19th and still shows we're riding them again on the 26th. Let's just hope the word reaches those who are not on here or the stadium will be even more empty than usual next week. And of course I'm sure some will arrive on the 26th to closed gates.
  21. Parasol count for Sue tonight and a possible sun break?
  22. I think it would be great if our promotion could give us a winning team! And as a side issue I'm totally gutted for Peterborough (hmm, not really)
  23. Ok, with the 2016 only averages having been put up by someone let's take a look at what we've got. Generally speaking most have underperformed so far. However, my individual assessments are as follows and I'd be interested to see how others see the situation. Danny Will generally be a very effective No1 winning the vast majority of his races, especially at home. No issues with him. Sarj Has shown flashes of what he's capable of and just needs to up his consistency a bit to be decent No2. Let's give him time. Lewis Proved last season he can be very good round Foxhall and just needs to get 100% confidence back after his major injury. Does need to start meetings better though. Morten Well Morten is Morten and has had purple patches every year he's been with the Witches. A good middle order man. Nico All action rider, couple of dodgy ones recently but wouldn't even consider replacing him whatsoever. Now the area where we have issues at the moment, I'm certainly not going to single out either reserve but we need a pairing that's going to score consistently especially at home, not just once in a while. If we don't get that we have no chance of achieving anything this season. Assuming that the season is not already lost. If it means making changes the so be it but let's be honest, it won't make a sods worth of difference what any of us say on here CL will do whatever he feels like!
  24. The thing about averages is that at home all riders should be above theres as their aways will generally be below. At the moment with the Witches it seems like only 1 rider has an off night and it all goes pear shaped. There are worse teams in the league than us but at the moment it doesn't look like it's gonna be a great year I'm afraid to say.
  25. Fair play to Somerset, they were alot better than I was expecting tonight and fully deserving of the win. The Witches tonight can be described in 2 words I'm afraid. " No comment " First time I've ever quoted myself but to be fair, it didn't rain, they got my money and I was correct in saying I got nothing for it! Apart from getting bloody cold!
