Ipswich V Newcastle Pl 23/06/16
Super Blue replied to Siggytastic's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think that lack of interest might be down to the dross that's been served up the majority of the season, with the ever dwindling support disappearing on a weekly/fortnightly basis. (little dig at disjointed fixtures) I know at least one or two that have had enough! Question is, will there be anyone left attending the stadium when the plans for 2017 finally become common knowledge or actually realised? As for me, I'll be there weather permitting where I predict a narrow home win if some of the riders get their arses in gear and the track is well prepared. Mind you, whilst we continue with such poorly scoring reserves I fear it only needs 1 main team rider to have a bad night and we're stuffed! -

It's results like this that make me glad that I don't have the time or the resources to follow my team away from home much! -
Not really sure to be honest and not also sure I want to check that particular statistic out. What worries me is the way things are going I'm not entirely certain we'll even finish that high, which is quite alarming really.

Wow, only just caught up with this thread. Things got very bitchy overnight didn't they, and out of hand. This is a forum about opinions which we all have and are entitled to pass on, however, all I would say is if it's not about your team keep it to yourself! I very seldom stray into other teams threads and even less do I comment let alone upset the locals. Just a thought!

I have to confess that of late the BSF section at Foxhall has become a tad boisterous and unruly but hey its only a bit of fun. Let's be honest, with alot of the dross that's been on show this season we need to do something to lighten the mood. Long may it continue and to those that made an exit to pastures new we will be back to our usual home in the back straight main stand when it reopens " If you don't like us creating an atmosphere don't come near us ! "

Was close all the way through the meeting ultimately decided by 2 factors for me . King off his game as he has been for much of the season (and why did we put him in ht15) also if we had some decent reserves we might have actually won . By the way, the track was back to its old self again tonight with no grip to pass round the outside, try as amuch as Danny and Nico did on occasions there was nothing there that use! Well done to Glasgow, the better team overall on the night !
-
Seriously, Too much dirt that the riders can't use it? If that's the case then there has just been no grip, not enough moisture in it maybe? To copy the Bald one, it was definitely better in the Redcar meeting and bizarre that it's taken so long to find the right formula but keep it up. Anyway, at least we know some of the hierarchy read this forum and have indirectly responded to comment on here.

We are the mob that's half way up the seating on the back straight dead in line with the starting gate. Consisting of Myself. The Bald one, usually wearing a red cap. Pob. Secondbendbeerhut, man with pick and mix. Dontforgetthefueltapsbruv. Macca56,when no Rye meeting on. Various other random bods and occasionally the Scotsman who might even be on our side if he attends given the opposition. Maybe see you there.

I know it's only Monday but thought I'd get it underway as it should be an interesting meeting for discussion. Ironic that Big Bens debut is against the team who released him and he will hopefully get a bagful of points to show them they made a mistake. Other than that I would say both sides are very evenly matched until we get to the reserve births but we all have our own opinions on that. All being well however if we can provide a decent racing surface I think it will be one not to miss and we should see some very competitive racing. Over to you.
-
So on the team now The heatleader trio of Danny, Nico and Ben ought to be an effective spearhead. Of the second string pairing Morten I'm sure will do his job but for me the jury is still out on James. I still think however we have issues in the reserve positions, they may score a few at home (not nearly enough) but will come up seriously short of what's required away. As others have said we might do well/ok in the pairs and fours but that's just about it.
-
Well I don't think Big Ben will hit too many maximums, if any for the Witches but I do think he'll score far more consistently than Lewis did for us especially if we can continue to have the much better race track like the one provided against Redcar! Hopefully also somebody, like Chris Louis can get our reserves bikes up to a standard where they're competitive and a few more points are forthcoming from those positions. If these can be achieved then I think the entertainment and crowd levels should both improve in the coming weeks and hopefully provide us with some great Speedway.

Surely a multi pointed campaign from Ipswich Speedway and the fans should have a greater impact? We know we have the presenter on our side and ultimately Spedeworth own the stadium, food outlets and Pa system that goes with it so many voices are always going to be better than one. We know many improvements have been made recently but we've put up with the poo sorry poor sound system for far too long. ( I was right with the first description and sorry about the name pun at the end there Kevin ) So let's get behind this and all contact the owners! -

Kevin, you came close to the forum corner of the stand last night but not close enough for a chat, hence when you had the rant we couldn't understand what you were saying, we honestly thought you were having a go at us for lack of atmosphere. Sorry, all is now apparent and I'm sure there will be plenty of contact with Spedeworth from those on here and those that could make out what you were saying. Thanks for trying! -

A very comfortable home win for a change but I definitely wouldn't say all is rosy again as to be fair Redcar were pretty poor . Everybody contributed on a beautiful evening at Foxhall and Ryan Douglas did more than I would have expected as a guest, however I do still think it's worrying that the opposition reserves are outscoring ours at home . Let's just enjoy this victory and hope we can have an equally impressive performance against the much tougher opponents of Glasgow on Thursday. -

Cheers mate -
Anyway, Welcome back Ben, has he learnt how to gate yet? I suppose at least he's not at No1 this time round, we managed to drag that tag off him when he was here before. Theoretically a heatleader trio of King, Covatti and Barker ought to be awesome but as we know a track that you can actually pass on and to suit their style would be nice! That's not gonna happen is it? Mind you I was wrong about us not making team changes so it would be good to be wrong about the track as well !!!

So does anyone know if we're still using Ryan Douglas tonight, I know we can if Lewis hasn't been officially released yet. I assume RR will be used if he has. -
Well I certainly wish Lewis well with whatever he does next, I think a combination of his injury last year and appearing to have issues getting the Jawa engines setups right has certainly affected his scoring for us this year!

So, if Kerr has been released by the Witches do we still have Ryan Douglas tomorrow or will the new rider be in place or will we use R/R? The plot thickens. -

The Pick and mix didn't get as far as me last time :-( so I'll be up for double portions tomorrow :-) -
Time to start this one up I believe. Is this a meeting we can comfortably win for a change and not have a last heat decider? Hmm, with the current Witches team inconsistencies who knows, your guess is as good as mine. I would like to think a reasonable size home win is on the cards, but! With guest Ryan Douglas in the team replacing Lewis Kerr riding at 4 and Sarj going back to 2 I would hope we have enough firepower but we'll just have to wait and see. The Bears of course have Baby Bjerre and a couple of others with Foxhall experience but also have 2 or maybe 3 that have never riden here before. Will see those attending on Saturday. Weather permitting as always.
