  1. So soon after a such a pathetic Ipswich performance in the Premier League 4's the newly crowned 4's champions come to Town to take on the Witches, no doubt full of confidence buoyed by their recent success. Will we be able to bring them back down to earth with a resounding victory or will they pull off a shock win? After all Foxhall is a much different track to the shale of the showground at Peterborough. We won in Plymouth earlier in the season but they seem to be a much improved side now. Could be an interesting encounter worthy of some extra effort by the Massif to encourage the home side, even if most of the team don't even acknowledge our existence! Over to you guys, opinions?
  2. I'm missing something from the Rastafarian Mexicans menu above (well that's what he looked like Thursday) Ah, I've got it Macca, can I have an extra large burrito with plenty of reggae reggae sauce please? Edited as I wasn't sure if it was a long government questionnaire or a restaurant menu to be consumed. I did somehow manage to stay awake while reading it.
  3. Well I openly admit to moaning about the usual lack of overtaking, last night was better but probably more down to the fact that the Panthers were predominantly pretty slow. Let's be honest here Morten is not exactly renowned for his outside line passes is he?
  4. Well that was a lot easier than I expected. Peterborough were more Pants than Panthers apart from the virtually sole resistance from Jacobsen! And as many have said before Bjerre was definitely a poor choice to replace the Cookie monster. On the Witches front Danny , I'm imperious again , unbeatable. James , take a bow son , paid max . Nico , maybe a tad below par . Morten , looked good tonight. Ben , deserved more for the effort alone . Danny Ayres , inspired choice of guest and he loved it . Connor , not the best tonight but still got a lot to learn . Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening and a always good to beat the pussycats!
  5. King might go unbeaten but Barker can't gate and very little passing actually occurs at Foxhall these days so I seriously doubt both will get max.
  6. The bar stewards bloody cancelled my operation two days before it was due to happen :-( (very sad face)
  7. Plenty of very dark clouds and thunder but no wet stuff my side of town. Very localised. Homework? Most schools are either closing soon or are on summer holidays already!
  8. A nice little local derby to create some interest. Thursday sees the Panthers coming to Town and it would be nice to carry on where we left off against Berwick but as we know it's always going to be a case of which Witches turn up on the night. We will be without Joe Jacobs who did a fine job last week and we have Danny Ayres in as guest. However Peterborough will be without Craig Cook who will also be riding for Belle Vue with JoJo. They are bringing in Lasse Bjerre as their guest which I think potentially weakens them but as a former Witch Lasse could do some damage on the Foxhall circuit. Personally I'm going for a home win, hopefully by enough to stop our local rivals taking anything from the meeting.
  9. Must admit I just found it ridiculously frustrating when you consider we are Premier league speedway in a stadium that runs stock car world championships and yet a small national league stadium can provide an audible sound system, bloody stupid! Do they use anything different for stock car events? I haven't really noticed on the odd occasion I've been to one but then again it's usually banger racing I watch and I don't really care enough who wins to try to listen!
  10. I'm only quoting what he said, Graham was there and also couldn't believe it.
  11. Also went to Mildenhall today as it's my last speedway fix for a few weeks and was most impressed with the both the Connors. Very determined riding throughout. The only downside to my visit was the millions of bloody thunderflies and God knows how many other species of bugs that were feasting on the paying public! It was horrible. And also, just to rub salt in the wounds of us long suffering, unable to hear the Presenter Foxhall punters Mildenhall have just had a brand new sound system installed, perfectly clear for all to hear!!! A chat with Kevin revealed that a quote has been obtained to update the Foxhall PA system of £45,000 . Don't know about you guys but it does seem rather excessive and pretty much unlikely to happen in the foreseeable future. We'll continue to suffer the muffled words for some time by the sounds of it!
  12. You're obviously holding back now Macca, I think you should say what you really think! And by the way, thanks for naming and bringing the Massif to life. I will certainly acknowledge your contribution to its creation.
  13. I did email Spedeworth but got the stat answer of the sound system upgrading is all part of the ongoing stadium developments. In other words not anytime soon! And Kevin, your efforts are much appreciated, a shame we can't reciprocate when we don't know what you're saying.
  14. Well pleased with his performance last night, not entirely convinced he's 100% in control of his bike at times but I'm sure that will come. I also think Danyon Humes deserved more than he got last week. They've both got something about them and track time at this higher level will only help their development.
  15. Hope you're wrong mate, although by the sounds of it (cowbells) it could be entertaining in the stand!
  16. Macca, I thought the Rye meeting was going to be your last venture to Foxhall this year? You still love the place really! Also teasing everyone on the bidding, that's a bit naughty! And as far as the cowbells are concerned, you started it then gave it away to the Glasgee lassie. See you tomorrow maybe to explain yourself?
  17. This thread is quite quiet, not much banter, maybe the local rivalry with Rye last week created more interest.
  18. Well King Barker and Sarjeant all seemed to be slow out of the start last night against Kings Lynn. Both King and Barker also need an outside line to be effective, that's something that is seriously lacking with the Foxhall track at the best of times!
  19. Has someone ordered a job lot of the cow bells then? I'll buy one if they have.
  20. They made the track slightly wider by going inwards (outwards never an option because of stock car track) and shortening it a bit in the process. To be honest it's been pants ever since! I can count the amount of decent racing surfaces I've seen in the last few years on one hand (actually maybe one finger) sorry Bob. The match against Rye was the first one I've seen for as long as I can remember that it was actually watered during the meeting, we all nearly fainted with shock! If only we had a really good surface to provide decent racing along with the 10,000+ capacity of the stadium we'd be in a great position to host some slightly more high profile events, but as it is we've got no chance. BTW Shads you're always welcome to join the BSF massif to help drive away the knitting/domino playing section that doesn't appreciate our cheering/noise making/atmosphere creating joviality!
  21. All about opinions I suppose but with my slightly personal bias as a Witches fan for King I would say if he's not in the team, just what the hell do you have to do to get picked? On current form I'd say Woffinden King Then maybe Lambert or Cook or both but it's take your pick really, Harris and Nicholls are both past it in my opinion. Not really that bothered on the U21 reserve as they can only be used for injury and not tactical cover anyway.
  22. King has got to be in the World cup team surely? Harris is rubbish, 1pt in GP, King 7pts. No brainer of a decision for the selectors.
