National league wobbler, no seriously he could probably still do a good job in the right league. Mind you he only did a couple of laps.
-
2nd practice day, may as well not have bothered coming, only Heeps Mountain and Hume were there from the team and a couple of juniors/NL riders.

When I called in last week the lady in the Diner said she was open 10am till 3pm but on Tuesday she said she was there till 5pm so not sure of exact hours. If you do go make yourself known, always good to meet other forum members. I'll probably be there weather permitting of course.

Assuming that the Diner is still open that is.

Diner is definitely open, I was there for the whole of practice, personally I had a couple of cuppa's and a breakfast which cost a fiver and was rather nice. I also went walkabout around the stadium with no problems at all. Of course you don't have to eat but as its the only reason you can officially go in it would be prudent to use the facilities. Think I might have another look tomorrow weather permitting.

To be fair most I think were getting used to being on a bike again, when they tried with the tapes Newman took the inside line on the first bend and went past Covatti who had got out first. I think there will ultimately be more lines this year. As far as taking a day off was concerned I had some holiday left which had to be used by the end of March, it was pure coincidence. Apparently next practice is on Thursday at 2pm, I may pop along again as I'm missing Saturdays meeting. Out of all of the guys Danny looked most comfortable and quick. To me Rory is going to be a very very good heat leader at this level. I don't think Nico has been on his bike too much up to now but I'm sure will come good. Kyle started by looking a tad uncomfortable on the track but got used to it pretty quickly. Cam is what he is and should certainly improve his average this year. Connor and Danyon both seemed to get on very well considering neither completed last year through injury. Practice is always very difficult to judge how fast they are going but generally all was looking good to me. It's great that with the cafe being open that they can't deny access to the practice days, things might change in future years though.

Practice day 1 complete, a good few laps completed by the team. They all seemed to be using the old lines though, very little of the new inner kerb being utilised apart from when they were doing starting practice with the tapes. Newman guilty of breaking the tapes twice, getting it out of the way before Saturday hopefully! Outside line not used at all by anyone, I imagine that there's still no grip out there for overtaking. A pleasant afternoon out with a nice breakfast in the Diner, beats the hell out of working.

Depending on which weather forecast you look at its generally looking better for the guys to get in some practice laps tomorrow.

Just asking here, they are Monday and Wednesday aren't they? looking for confirmation as I know I've seen the dates somewhere but can't find at the moment.

Who's up for a Massif get together on Monday or Wednesday for a breakfast at the Diner at Foxhall? Just checked and it's open as usual (funnily enough on p&p days) that are not open to the public.
-
Another very pleasant evening I believe had by all at the pre season Massif get together last night. Good company and good food, shame one or two couldn't make it. Realistic chances for the Witches mused and debated. Just looking forward for the racing to get underway now.

There's more chance of the queen coming to my house for dinner than my brother reading anything on here, he probably doesn't know this forum exists. And no interest in speedway whatsoever. Apart from that he's an OK guy.
-
It's a surprise party for my brothers 60th birthday combined with his 25 wedding anniversary on the 25th of March, I don't think any of my family would talk to me again if I went to speedway instead! This of course could be a good thing but you never know I might need them someday.
-
About this yes, still battling with family and getting a hard time about the 25th March , looks like I'm gonna lose the fight and miss the first meeting. 😠😠😠
-
Isn't it about time for a pre season get together?
-
Looking around at other threads and teams websites welcoming British semi finals and 4's and other events I'm beginning to wonder why we never get anything. Is it the traditionally poor race track, the location of Ipswich or even the constraints of the amount of meetings we're allowed to run due to stock cars? One things for sure though it's not the facilities as Foxhall can hold 10 thousand people, it hosts stock car world championships so has the infrastructure to cater for large amounts of punters. Do we just not want anything big or are we being turned down by the speedway big wigs?
-
I still think although plenty of potential to up their averages our reserves could be our undoing, initially anyway. Dont get me wrong though, I really like the way the teams been put together and think things will come good, just not necessarily straight away.
-
It certainly has, I believe that the bends have been opened up a bit to give more lines for overtaking possibilities. Whether any changes will be obvious I've no idea. Apparently minor changes to the banking may have also been made but they are very limited as to what can be done in that department because of the stock car track on the outside. We will see at the first meeting, well some of you will as certain members of my family have planned a major dual birthday/anniversary party on the 25th of March. Muppets!

Any idea how far in the 3hr broadcast it is?
-
Look at page 3 of a certain newspaper for a nice pair.
-
I wonder if the fixtures being released on Tuesday morning will include a pre season friendly or whether it's straight into competitive league meetings?
-
I believe it was £10 admission for last nights match but it was shocking and not worth that, things need to change and quickly because Ipswich Town and Football Club is a serious contradiction in terms. And that's from a season ticket holder. Anyway that's enough about Football in the loosest sense of the word , I wonder how the track alterations are going? And roll on March!
-
Especially against Scottish teams!
-
Season tickets would be up even more if they allowed someone else to use them on the odd occasion you can't make a home meeting.

Interesting to know Scott would have wanted to ride for us again. Personally though given a choice between him and Danny I'd take Danny any day of the week (Sorry Scott)
