  1. Hopefully we can still win this one using rr for Nico and a guest for Cameron, the other riders will really need to step up tonight. And before anyone asks the referee tonight is Gay, Mr Chris Gay, just letting you know.
  2. First of all having now learnt the extent of Nico's injury I hope he has a speedy recovery and returns fit and rearing to go ASAP, he will be sorely missed in his absence! Does anyone actually know how close to a return Kyle is yet? With all due respect to Sarj he can have a blinder one day and be shocking the next so is never going to be an adequate replacement for higher average riders. Its certainly been a poor start to the season as far as away matches are concerned and like others have said we can probably cover at home with rr but away the defeats are likely to be be even worse if we don't get in another temporary replacement quickly. I think CL needs to do something soon as our season could end up like last years where we struggled to get in the playoffs.
  3. If the Witches are on their best form we could get something in the way of league points out of this one but I fear the home reserves will be the deciding factor on the night. Although Connor and Danyon have loads of potential it may be a while yet before they are getting big points on away tracks.
  4. With plenty of track slating of Foxhall and the showground on both threads I just hope that today's meeting provides good racing and an enjoyable meeting. I also hope that the weather stays fine for you all as I have a prior engagement to attend today, funnily enough starting at 3pm at Portman Road.
  5. Kevin Long said today that he's a guest presenter at the showground tomorrow, he will be the ultimate professional and be totally impartial no doubt.
  6. There we certainly a half decent crowd there last night, admittedly partially swelled by a some pussycat fans and probably not quite as many as the traditional Good Friday afternoon meetings but a hell of a lot more than Thursday evenings produce. The track looked a tad greasy to us on the back straight but apparently there were no complaints from the riders (well not Ipswich ones anyway) At least we have something of an outside line this year as Cam and Danny proved, a line that's been missing for a large number of years at Foxhall.
  7. A tad one sided, more so than I expected but when 24 of the 32 points Peterborough managed were scored by 2 riders it was never going to be close. Even more so when Wilson Dean was the only heat winner the Panthers provided. They were also rather unfortunate with the injuries sustained during the meeting as well, speedy recovery to those concerned, hope that they are OK. That said it was a very comprehensive performance by the Witches doing exactly what was required to regain confidence after Thursdays defeat at Sheffield. So onwards to the showground on Monday where hopefully We'll put on a better showing than Peterborough did at Foxhall tonight. Still torn between Speedway and football for Monday, why couldn't the meeting have stayed on Sunday as was originally planned!
  8. Good luck with that! With a fully fit Danny King I would have had the Witches getting near to hitting 60 tonight but I'll amend that to early 50's. Just enough to make sure all relevant league points are acquired and the Panthers get nothing. Lets hope Danny's not making a mistake declaring himself fit and all riders stay safe tonight. The weather is currently good but with the notorious micro climate at Foxhall I think it might be a tad chilly when the sun goes down.
  9. Oops, put random comments relevant to the Peterborough meeting on here by mistake.
  10. I still can't decide on Monday whether to watch the Witches lose at Peterborough or watch Ipswich Town lose at home to Newcastle United. I was quietly confident of getting a result at Peterborough but the result at Sheffield has made me change my opinion somewhat. Decisions, decisions and forever the pessimist.
  11. Even after last night's abysmal display at Sheffield I'm still confident of a comfortable Witches win but at the showground on Monday, not so much.
  12. Don't you mean where is he these days?
  13. Congratulations to both Connor and Danyon on on qualifying for the U21 final, both seemed to go really well, good practice for upcoming meeting at the showground for the Witches, bodes well.
  14. Unless I've missed it nobody appears to have started a thread up for this one. It looks like both teams will be at full strength and it should be a keenly contested meeting. The top ends of both sides look evenly matched to me and I think the deciding factor might be the amount of points the reserves score, with the home side coming out slightly on top. I do however feel that if the Witches are on their game they are certainly capable of nicking something in the way of league points. Discuss?
  15. She'll have a fit about the lunatics you spend nights at Foxhall with!
  16. So Mr Scotsman, are you actually going to be supporting the Witches for once then? I doubt that the crowd will be quite as good as the first meeting unless it's kids go free again? Personally I don't see anything apart from a comfortable home win, mid 50's to the Witches. Lets hope for a good safe meeting and hope Connor Mountain is OK to ride after his crash at Mildenhall on Sunday.
  17. After a dodgy heat 1 it was mission accomplished by mid meeting as far as progressing to the the next round was concerned. Sounded like a controled performance by the Witches. It does bode well for the upcoming league fixture there at the end of April that we could nick a point or more. So far so good and a decent start to the season.
  18. Well, a second fine performance by the Witches on home soil which as has been said before would have more but for a few mechanical issues and the odd fall. I think it's going to take a very strong team to get anything from Foxhall this season. On the road we are of course yet to start so that remains to be seen whether we can be effective. All in all a good night in very pleasant weather conditions and qualification to the next round of the cup ought to be a formality.
  19. Well, the injury doesn't sound like he'll be back any time soon so I think a temporary replacement ought to be the way to go, however we all know the Witches record on doing that. I think a quick decision should be made when the scan results are known. If Chris Louis really wants the best for the team and the injury is going to be long term he needs to make the right call sooner rather than later.
  20. Continue to use r/r or get a temporary replacement? I wonder which way that one's going to go. Hmmm Probably be OK at home with r/r but away I'm not so sure.
  21. An enjoyable meeting to watch considering I originally was not going to be around to attend, Sheffield once they really get going are going to be a formidable force to contend with. However, so I believe are the Witches! I was going to say if we stay clear of injury we are definitely going to be there or thereabouts come the business end of the season but as injury has already struck we can only be stronger when Kyle returns. The only slight weak link last night was Connor but he will improve much as his fitness and confidence grow. Looking forward to Thursday already.
  22. National league wobbler, no seriously he could probably still do a good job in the right league. Mind you he only did a couple of laps.
  23. 2nd practice day, may as well not have bothered coming, only Heeps Mountain and Hume were there from the team and a couple of juniors/NL riders.
  24. When I called in last week the lady in the Diner said she was open 10am till 3pm but on Tuesday she said she was there till 5pm so not sure of exact hours. If you do go make yourself known, always good to meet other forum members. I'll probably be there weather permitting of course.
