Ipswich V Scunthorpe Championship 11-5-17@7-30pm
Super Blue replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You'd have thought they would have updated that part as of their site as they have 2 articles about Nathan joining Ipswich and he's keen to impress on their home screen. If his signing hasn't been ratified then it should have been and I'm sure there will be all sorts of riding under protest tonight. -

TheScotsman has got Sedgy riding for Ipswich now so not sure who he's going to support. -
Well, we are back to actually having an official 1-7 team, not the side we signed at the start of the year but one we have to go with for the foreseeable future. Personally I welcome young Nathan to the fold and wish him all the best for his now Witches career, I'm sure he'll do fine when he gets used to the track. Onto Thursday when the Scorpions visit Foxhall, last year we got caught cold in the league cup meeting but put that right on their subsequent visit in the league. They are currently mid table and have a few riders that know their way around Foxhall but even though we have our own riders that are still getting used to the place I feel a pretty comfortable home win should be on the cards. Kyle and Justin will in time become a formidable partnership. I seriously doubt that we will see many home meets when neither Danny or Rory hit double figures. We need Cam to continue his current good form and Connor to begin finding his feet this season, it's not been the best of starts for the lad. Good luck Nathan! So let's hope that the weather is kind and everyone stays safe on the night.!

Well, we're not the only team looking for a 2pt reserve now. Poor Danny Phillips of Newcastle and Kings Lynn Young Stars apparently broke his back and leg yesterday at Mildenhall. So many bad crashes already this season! Really feel for him big time and only 20 I believe. Get well soon son! It does however mean we are in competition for as good as we can get to replace Danyon, CL needs to get his finger out and get someone signed.

Although the work done by the air ambulance service is absolutely brilliant I think it might have been nice to see some of the money go to Danny to help him out a bit on his long hard road to recovery. I like everyone wish him all the best in his return to fitness ASAP.

Cardiff Wild Card
Super Blue replied to stevehone's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
But the British champion could be Rory Schlein. I'm guessing the only reason he's riding is to potentially get a wildcard for Cardiff as he's allegedly not interested in riding for team GB in the World cup. -

On reflection a win is a win and 3 more points on the board, I must admit it was a tad disappointing to let Glasgow take a point but they rode well enough to earn it. I doubt Danny and Rory will have such poor nights too many times at home this season. Effectively on the night we had three riders who are all pretty inexperienced on the new Foxhall track (Kyle, Justin and James) so I'll take the win gratefully. Hats off and thanks to James Shanes though, definitely a star of the future. I like many have said say 'sign him up' even if he does have to miss some meetings due to other commitments. On the social side it was nice to have a drink in the bar after with Paulco and Willie and get to know a couple of our friends from North of the border. Cheers guys! -
Ipswich Witches Vs Glasgow Tigers Thurs 4th May C1
Super Blue replied to Pob's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think the result of this meeting could well be down to how quickly Justin adapts to the new Foxhall track, how up to speed Kyle is and Shanes picking up a few points in the reserve position. We all know how solid the Glasgow team looks on paper but as has been said many times, a meeting is not won on paper its won on the track. I'm going for a home win, big enough to deny our Scottish friends from taking anything away from. -
Really?

Doesn't he have a lot of other weekend commitments with grass track or motor cross or something? On a 2 average yes but as we don't know what average Nico's replacement will be we might have more than that to to play with.
-
So who do we realistically reckon it will be then? Also what's the likelihood of getting someone in who can effectively replace Danyon?

Berwick V Ipswich Championship 29/4/17
Super Blue replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I had actually contemplated going to this given it was the first day of a long bank holiday weekend and I didn't get a speedway fix on Thursday. Even though the Witches won I'm mighty glad I didn't go given the discussions about the track! I couldn't quite grasp from the comments whether they used the covers or not for this one but if they did how on earth can they get track prep so wrong? -

Whoever rides for both teams tonight I just hope they all stay safe ! So far this season the Witches haven't fielded our official 1 to 7 and not likely to with the injuries sustained so far. I just hope we can find replacements to keep the team competitive for the year without any more disasters. I predict a home win but hopefully the Witches will get something out of the meeting. -

I'm guessing the inspection was about 7ish and the track which was dry earlier had just taken too much water in a short space to be ridden safely. At least they didn't actually open the gates and take people's money this time, something that they've done before. -

Dunno on track inspection but normally gates open by now and they're not, I reckon it's happening now, but it's steady rain with no signs of stopping. -

Have to confess with recent injury news, bleeding cold and potentially wet I'm not really in the mood for tonight myself, will probably go though. If it's on that is. -
I'm sure CL has already put the feelers out on replacing Nico. Speaking of which somebody told me he had to have a second operation, anyone know how it went? And what the final verdict is on how long he'll be out for?

Interesting that the Bandits team was removed from the Witches website, to be fair they don't usually post teams on guesswork so I imagine they got the info from somewhere only to be told no. The plot thickens. -

I think Kyle may take a while to get up to speed and with the Berwick changes it might be a tad closer than last time the Bandits came to Foxhall. -

Bandits fans not confident on improving on their previous visit then? I was thinking you might get a bit closer this time, after all rr is not likely to get a paid max like it did against Redcar. -
Berwick are once again visitors to Foxhall on Thursday, this time in the league and even with a depleted Witches team can anyone see this being anything other than another comfortable home win? Hopefully Cameron will be fully recovered from his sickness bug. At this point it's still guesswork but I'm assuming we'll operate rr for Nico while we await the full extent of his expected absence. If it's a season ending injury we will no doubt be searching for a permanent replacement. Anyway, back to Thursday (weather permitting) I'm sure the Bandits will want to make amends for their cup exit but even though they've had some recent track time in Ipswich will they have about them to get something from the meeting? Personally I don't think so. Discuss

Ipswich V Redcar Saturday 22nd April
Super Blue replied to cowboy cookie returns?'s topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A good win amid the adversity of riders dropping like flies to injury and illness! A faultless performance by Danny tonight, at the moment he looks unbeatable at Foxhall. An inspired choice of guest in young Josh Bates, he's a much smoother rider now than when I last saw him, well done and thanks for stepping in. The rest of of the team chipping in nicely to seal a comfortable win although Connor does still seem to be struggling to get to grips with the track this year. Even if we are poor away at the moment as long as we keep winning at home it should be enough to be in the upper reaches of the league later in the season. -

Only time decent technology is used at Foxhall US when the stock cars are on as proved with the tannoy system. As far as I'm aware I don't think they take cards anywhere but I may be wrong.
