Australia?
-
I'm just really surprised to hear that we appear to be doing something before the cutoff.
-
Wondering who we've got to replace Sedgy then, and when will it be announced ? Not talking about a certain Australian team asset by any chance?
-
Was just thinking about the fans forum (usually after a meeting) that we've had in the past with CL and the riders hosted by Kevin. There appears to be an absence of one nowadays, do you think it might be down to questions that were being asked and not much appreciated?

Glasgow V Ipswich Cl Sun 30th July 2017 At 3pm
Super Blue replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If our top 2 ride the way they did against Edinburgh we've not got a cats chance in hell of getting anything out of the meeting, especially with you know who expected to ride at 4. Better not say more or I'll be accused of rider bashing. -
Witches V Monarchs Ch 27-7-17@7-30pm
Super Blue replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Summary of meeting IMO Ref, she was as bad as ever, 3 jump starts by MONARCHS (Riss x2 Wells x1) not pulled back. 1 by King, race stopped. Most of Witches not really on it tonight with a couple of exceptions. A special mention for Sedgmen (FFS just go!) Ultimately cost us the win! When I said he was a poor replacement for Nico everyone disagreed. God I hate being right sometimes. If I say any more I'll get banned! Well done to Monarchs who pulled it out of the bag, I honestly thought the Witches would go unbeaten at home this season. That's my view anyway. -

No disrespect but has there been a good Sedgmen turn up at all apart from against the seriously lesser teams? -
Sgb Championship Best Pairs 2017
Super Blue replied to idh's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
How about Ipswich, somewhere different, more spectator capacity than virtually any other stadium in the country, toilets, catering and the perfect track for the event (huh hmmm, maybe not). -
Honestly I don't get protective about others starting up meeting threads, you can do it you know. Anyway the Monarchs are in town again weather permitting but it looks OK at the moment. I'm sure after their last visit they will be hopeful of doing better this time around. They kept it close at the start of the meeting but the Witches picked it up mid way through and ran out comfortable winners. Personally I believe this encounter will also result in the Witches home record remaining intact but speedway can always bring an odd surprise so you never know. I'm also of the belief that we should have be tinkering with our riding order again putting Justin at 2 and Kyle at 4 to give him the protection of riding with Danny. But what do I know and when something makes sense it doesn't tend to happen. Over to you?
-
Isn't it end of July that any changes need to be made by anyway? I have previously said that Connor could cost us in any potential playoffs but he's definitely picking up now so the current weak link is Justin I'm afraid to say. If he doesn't pick up we will have problems against the better sides at the business end of the season.

Sgb Championship Best Pairs 2017
Super Blue replied to idh's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Got to the Oak tree arena on the Ipswich tour bus and as we went past the stadium we could see the track and it was absolutely soaked, obviously the covers on the bends were still there but it was never going to happen in our opinions. If you are going to put covers down either do the whole track or nothing. I don't care if it stopped raining at shortly after 6pm it would have been an absolute farce and waste of money. -
Ipswich V Newcastle Ch 20-7-17@7-30pm
Super Blue replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
With it being alot colder than of late and potential rain in the air I'm sure the crowd will be down compared to recent meetings. And as we all know if it's mid teens temperature wise in the car park it will be about freezing in the stadium so bring a coat. -

Well I'm hoping for 3 consecutive days of good speedway starting with a Witches win tonight and maybe even a winning Witches winner ticket! Apart from Saturday (indoors) it could be rather weather dependent though. Not looking too brilliant weather wise for the pairs tomorrow at the moment but can always hope for another Witches win if all goes well. Anyway for those going tonight, see you there. -

Do we really think we would win the playoffs and be in the promotion/relegation run off? We always manage to have issues and it goes t*ts up somehow. -

Sgb Championship Best Pairs 2017
Super Blue replied to idh's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think the weather prediction depends on which forecast you look at but it's not looking brilliant on the majority of them. I'm also looking forward to my first visit there, i just hope we're lucky enough that the elements don't ruin the first day of the tour from Ipswich! On the meeting front I think the Witches pair have as much chance as any if they are on their game. -
Looks like it's down to me to start this one up. Anyway The Diamonds are in town once again and after a comfortable win over them last time at Foxhall personally I see it being much the same on Thursday. Having said that I think they may be stronger this time around with Lindgren being missing as the Ipswich track is clearly not usually one of his favoured ones. (to be fair he did manage 9pts in June) Secondly Kevin Doolan could possibly score a few more than Lewis Rose and in my opinion having seen both ride recently I believe Jack Thomas is likely to score more than Alfie Bowtell would have. The Witches are back to our usual 1-7 line-up and should be plenty strong enough to maintain our 100% home record. Opinions?

Mildenhall V Birmingham Sun 16th July
Super Blue replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
Must admit I thought it was odd that Whitmore was riding for Birmingham in this one myself when I saw the Brummies website. Can only happen in Speedway. Still hoping for a good meeting though, I'm reliably informed the last couple at West Row have been cracking ones. -
Mildenhall V Birmingham Sun 16th July
Super Blue replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
Yes I do print score sheets in advance I'm afraid but it's not about saving money. I never read them any more, very little info, far too many pages full of adverts and a conflict years ago elsewhere about full price expected for a 6 week old rain off programme. I just don't buy them anymore when all I need is the scoresheet. Slightly sidetrack, it would appear that various weather forecasts are potentially predicting some of the wet stuff today. Anyway local updates would be appreciated please? -

At least Birmingham care enough to preview this meeting, still nothing on Mildenhall website less than 24 hrs before the event. Does anyone know if the above listed riders will actually line up in those orders please? -
Well it's the Tiggers of the Sheffield variety visiting Wednesday for another league meeting. A changed line-up for both teams this time around but I still see the result being similar to that earlier in the season. Also after the weekend pointless lineup tinkering for the Witches we appear to be back to a more sensible 1-7 so should be normal service resumed. Opinions?

Bandits V Witches. 8th July
Super Blue replied to havenagotahope's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So we're tweaking the riding order again for this meeting according to Witches website. Rory at 3 Cam at 4 Sedgy at 5 Not sure what to make of this myself, obviously it means the 3/4 partnership looks very strong but the 5/reserve pairing could well struggle if Sedgy doesn't gate well. We will see no doubt. -

To be fair Berwick have simply not had the rub of the green this year and their future was also in doubt for some time before the start of the season. I wish them well! (but not in this one) Having said that the meeting on Saturday is one that the Witches need to win to continue the push at the top end of the table. So far this season it's one win each on Berwick shale, admittedly the first was in the KO Cup and the job had already been done at Foxhall. Personally I'm going for a Witches win as long as everything goes to plan but you never know what will occur when we are away from home.
