  1. It's all still looking good on the weather front. No signs of anything untoward so far.
  2. Currently in Ipswich a very pleasant breeze in the 24'c temperature, will update on any significant weather changes as appropriate.
  3. Having had a blank last Thursday personally I'm more than ready for some live Speedway and agree with the fact that we've had our fair share of dross to watch this season at Foxhall. That aside, Scunny had loads of luck last visit, all bad! so with Douglas now finding some form and Wilko bound to score from reserve I'm sure it will more entertaining and closer than last time.
  4. Weather permitting (potential thunderstorms predicted for tomorrow) does anyone see anything apart from a very comfortable home win? Only change from both sides being nearly at full strength is Rob Branford coming in for Nathan Greaves who Is riding in the U19's at Plymouth. Good luck to you Nathan! Personally I'm going for the Witches to maybe hit early 50's but certainly the Scorpions to do better than last visit when struck by a couple of untimely injury withdrawals.
  5. Hey ho, I hope I'm wrong and will be very happy to be proved so. This sport is much like all, it's about opinions.
  6. It's a shame that Connor Mountain has struggled to cope with the Foxhall track the whole season as he showed so much potential before his injury last year. As long as we make the playoffs he might be the weak link that's the difference between success and failure.
  7. A wasted hundred mile round trip last week due to the power failure, I don't want to do it again for a rain off, hence my post.
  8. Weather not looking too good for this today according to BBC and Met Office forecasts! Would be grateful if any locals could please keep us updated on any wet stuff as I'm planning on coming and wouldn't want a second week in a row to arrive in the car park only to turn around and have to go home. Thanks in advance.
  9. Well I'm pleased we got a point at Glasgow, 49-43 to the home team tonight and 48-42 to the Witches at Foxhall. All the makings of a potentially great playoff final.
  10. No need to worry about anything, away from Foxhall we are mostly 'Pony and Trap'!
  11. Yup, a very entertaining meeting, alot more so than the scoreline suggests. For me the best of the season so far filled with incident and some true racing. All team members contributing well towards the great win but a special mention must go to Kyle on his much improved recent scoring and performance tonight. Shame we have a blank week next Thursday.
  12. Some pretty heavy looking clouds building up over part of Ipswich at the moment and literally just started raining . Hopefully will stop before too much damage is done to the already questionable track.
  13. Just thought I'd do a quick weather check for tomorrow to see if it was going to be a shorts evening only to see that 3 sources including BBC and Met Office are potentially predicting thunder storms during the day. Could make track prep a bit tricky if they come to fruition!
  14. Apparently the ref is 'R Allen', can't recall him being a regular ref at Ipswich.
  15. When previous diehards are talking about flipping a coin before deciding to go or not it begins to get even more worrying for the future of speedway 🙁
  16. I'd give you credit for that one but as you don't come anymore I've nicked it!
  17. On Thursday we face Worky at Foxhall in the league hoping to keep our 100% home record in tact. At the helm for the Comets we welcome the return of the radiator wrecker and new British Champion 'Craig Cook!' (Sorry but I still find it mildly amusing) If he finds the slightly new track shape and material to his liking I think a new track record could be on the cards. Apart from Cooky do we think there should be too much to worry about as far as a home win is concerned? Personally I don't think so but you never know, they've got a couple of riders who've scored at Foxhall before. Think I'll go for early to mid 50's for the Witches. Over to you for opinions.
  18. Easy home win for me, the Witches haven't been able to find any form away apart from at the teams in the lower reaches of the table. Edinburgh to hit mid 50's I suspect. As always I hope to be proved wrong but won't be holding my breath.
  19. On my post, I wasn't being critical of Berwick I was just trying to point out that given the team it wasn't going to be the most appealing fixture to attend. I suppose the nice weather might help a bit with the crowd.
  20. I feel sorry for the season ticket holders that will pretty much be obligated to go. I'm currently undecided.
  21. I see on twitter that Poole have replaced Kyle with Paul Starke, must be worrying times for him as he's been struggling for us as well. As he only has one team now to earn from I wonder if that might be a gee up he needs to get his season going.
  22. I know there are track prep bodies on this forum who could answer your question but when they've posted in the past all sorts of interesting discussions have taken place. So you'll probably not get them to respond unless they want to open themselves up to an in depth debate on why tracks are so good or bad?
