  1. They will probably both miss at least 4 meetings each as and when they visit both Belle Vue & Wolverhampton twice for their EL clubs on Monday nights.
  2. I think Liam Rumsey is worth a try. He is another who has had his fare share of injuries which has curtailed his progress. He went O.K. around Central Park last season when riding for Mildenhall and is on a handy 3.05 ave.
  3. Totally agree Waco that an experienced head in the pits is invaluable to help the youngsters with engine set ups and adapting to track conditions and in David Mason he still has a lot to offer in that field and can still mix it when needed. If David is not used for the King's in 2014 he would be a excellent choice as Team Manager / Coach. as someone who has been there, done it & got the T-Shirt and with his knowledge is respected by other riders is the league. With the top 5 confirmed on the B.S.P.A. site and Jack Kingston not being able to commit to Mondays, http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.23479. Now I would like to see the other 2 riders being Marc Owen & Brandon Freemantle with a 1 -7 of, 1. Simon Lambert ?.?? 2. Luke Chessell 4.22 3. David Mason 6.38 4. Benji Compton 6.37 5. Ben Morley 7.12 6. Marc Owen ?.?? 7. Brandon Freemantle 3.00
  4. With other clubs starting to put together their 1 - 7, here in my opinion is a possible line up for the Kings depending on the assessed starting averages of numbers 1 & 2. 1. Simon Lambert 8.00 ? 2. Marc Owen 5.00 ? 3. Ben Hopwood 6.89 4. Benji Compton 6.37 5. Ben Morley 7.12 6. Adam Kirby 3.00 7. Jack Kingston 4.20
  5. With the rumours of Rye going EL. How about this as a 1-7. Obviously it's only for fun but would certainly bring back the old faces who have deserted the terraces. 1. Tai Woffinden. 2. Stuart Robson. 3. Eddie Kennett. 4. Anders Mellgren. 5. Linus Sundstrom. 6. Tyson Nelson. 7. Jason Garrity.
  6. On the Kent CTA Kings website http://www.kentkings...e/20130606.html it states could be out for two weeks. So it will be interesting to see who the management will use as a guest to cover Jacks absence. The meetings he will miss i assume are;- Buxton, Home on 10th. Coventry, Away on 14th. Mildenhall, Away on 16th. Rye House, Home on 17th. I.O.W Away, on 18th. Maybe we could use Robert Lambert or Adam Ellis as they are both 3.00 average riders and would fit the bill.
  7. On the whole with a bit of better fortune the Kings could of won this meeting. Obviously loosing Jack Kingston so early didn't help the cause which resulted in Adam Kirby & his mechanic (Dad Paul) having a busy night completing 7 rides which with under the stress of the curfew meant he had little time to change any set ups between races. with Ben Morley having a slow start to the meeting, the couple of retirements for Steve Boxall & Benji Compton and the falls for Adam whilst all in scoring positions resulted in valuable points being lost which would have resulted in a completely different scoreline. The signs are certainly looking good for the Kings and surely that elusive first win is on the cards this coming Monday versus Buxton. Confidence is what every rider needs when taking to the track and this week the track seemed a whole lot better and stood up well. All that is needed now in my opinion is some more banking on both bends as at the moment it is gate and go and there seems to be only the one racing line. Once the team have that consistency they will be able to get the results that they deserve for all their efforts they are putting in and can see the fan's getting behind them as they did even more as witnessed by the resulting sound of the noise from the cheers that greeted the 5-1 achieved in heat 15 by Ben & Benji, i can't wait to see what sort of reception they get when the team win that 1st meeting.
  8. With Adam Roynon as the only British rider in this list, just shows how the future of British speedway has become so poor ( Tai Woffinden being the exception) by not giving the younger British lads a chance. Maybe some promoters might like to give them a chance to prove themselves instead of keep looking overseas for replacements.
  9. In a way the National League is a form of a training league and as these kids are barely out of school they are learning to ply their trade and become full time riders. As this is Adam Kirby's first season of full time racing he should be given time to settle and maybe him and other young lads who need to start somewhere will get more laps and races under their belts and will hopefully show improvement and one day become Premier League or Elite League riders of the future. Not all of them can be naturally gifted and talented as the likes of Tai Woffinden and be an instant success like he was at Rye House, though I can still remember a certain Rye House rider in the 90's called Trevor O'Brien, who when first started racing could not do 2 bends without falling let alone 4 laps, but with time became a heat leader whilst riding with the like's of Jens Rasmussen & Martin Goodwin with him becoming a cult hero with the Rye House supporters.
  10. I would have a look at Kenny Ingalls, Claes Nedermark. or Emillano Sanchez as they all go well around Rye with the added bonus of Jason Garrity riding at reserve.
  11. R/R is O.K. if the rider they are replacing is not on the pace but it looked like Jason Bunyan was starting to look as good as he was before his injuries from a few seasons ago and his points will be missed.
  12. As the joint promoter is Len Silver, i can see there being no membership / supporters club as he refuses to have one at Rye House since they re-opened, as he does not want any input from the fans. This maybe a different case at Kent with Neil Nikko Day on the board as he seems to appreciate the input the fans make.
  13. Good post there Waco. As you said Ben always gives 100% & is always on the pace giving all his opponents a good race. I remember Ben taking the noticeable scalps of Leicester's Kauko Niemenen & Mickael Karlsson when scoring 6 + 1 during the meeting at Rye House in August. Ben was also very unlucky not to claim the Bronze helmet at the end of the season when clearly leading Ashley Birks, only for machine trouble on the 3rd lap to deny him the win. He also rode well in the end of season Premier League play off for Newcastle against Somerset on a very greasy track beating Alex Davies & James Wright in the process. Hopefully promoters at a loose end will look to Ben if they need cover for anyone who may be unfortunately curtailed by injury.
  14. Good post there Waco. Ben does ride the Eddie Wright Raceway very well as proof when finishing second to Thomas Jorgensen in the Rob Woffinden memorial trophy in 2011 when only 16 years old. As you said Ben always gives 100% & is always on the pace giving all his opponents a good race. I remember Ben taking the noticeable scalps of Leicester's Kauko Niemenen & Mickael Karlsson when scoring 6 + 1 during the meeting at Rye House in August. 15. With no team announcements it's becoming a bit of a worry as one wonders if there will be 7 riders available for Kent to call upon with Buxton needing 4 more, Kings Lynn 3 and Coventry needing just 1. How many can you see progressing from the Anglian Junior League & Midlands Development League to make up the numbers and make Kent a competitive side. What do others think about the possibility of this for Kent's 1-7. 1. Steve Boxall 2. Connor Coles 3. Ben Morley 4. David Mason 5. James Cockle 6. Ryan Terry Daley 7. Robert Lambert
  16. I think Robert Lambert may be to young to be able to ride this year in the PL, though i agree Ben that it would be good to see Kennett back at Rye if not Robbo would be my choice.
  17. Unfortunatly not as he rides for Leicester and is ineligable. Ben Morley could be an option as he tried hard & didn't go to badly in the double header against Somerset at the end of September.
  18. I agree that this should have been sorted on the track. The reason the Raiders v Potters match has not been ridden is that the two previous attempts to run the meetings have fallen foul to the weather. With riders other commitments the 22nd of September was the only available day. Come on Mr Moorish do the decent thing and let this get sorted on the track, so that all the questions of what if don't have to be asked. They still can, but i thought Dudley would choose to race the Raiders as the Potters did run them close at Monmore and beat them at Loomer Rd, where as they soundly beat Rye both home & away.
  19. I agree why couldn't the cut off date for the NL be the same as the PL. Surely 3 days wouldn't cause a problem as to who Dudley would choose in the semi-final and to sort out when the fixtures are to be arranged. Anyway personally i feel Dudley should be crowned Champions as they have shown that they have been the best team all season.
  20. In my opinion the play offs are a waste of time & Dudley are rightfully the National League Champions. It's like the format in most sport nowdays that not the best overall is crowned champions because of a one off game that they might loose. Take the individual finals, the best rider can beat everyone in the 20 heats leading upto the final and then blow it in the shoot out. It's a complete farce.
  21. Precisely my thoughts. Why take Ben out when he had rode so well riding in the main body of the team scoring valuable points like he did against a useful looking Todd Kurtz and James Holder who also scored some well earned points. The lad must feel well pi**ed off seeing that even with the lack of track time in recent weeks he had clearly put in a great effort and should have been given his fourth ride. Garrity seemed to be stuggling in his rides and his points only came in Ht 2 when beating an impressive Ben Reade & a below par Joe Jacobs.
  22. Having attended this meeting yesterday i would say the crowd totalled nearly over a 1000. That would make the gate receipts in the region of £12,000. Seeing that the riders were paid the national league pay rate of £10 per point, that made total prize money of £1080. O.k the riders were also paid travelling money but if that totalled another £500 the B.S.P.A. came out with a tidy profit at the end of day.
  23. I agree with Waco If Cameron Heeps is missing for the Witches and they can only replace him with a N.L. guest then the Ippo promotion should be able to use Ben Morley who would be the perfect choice. The only problem would be is that Len would not allow it as he would not like to see young Ben popping out and beating Jason Garrity & Luke Bowen in heat 2. Could clearly cause a lot of Egg on Face looks around the pits afterwards.
  24. There is no problem with Adam Roynon and Ritchie Worrall riding in the National League and they are perfectly allowed to ride in the National League as the rules allow this as they both started this season with a Premier League average below 4.00 points. I am not totally sure but i think this it what may have stopped James Brundle from turning out this season in the National League as his Premier League average whilst riding for Rye House last season was above 4.00, although Jerran Hart who's average was nearer 5.00 whilst riding for Ipswich in the Premier League last season has been allowed to ride for Scunthorpe this season in the National League which does not make sense so i may be talking utter rubbish.
  25. Hi Lynne77, This season at Rye House the Raiders meetings in the National League do form part of double headers with the Rockets in the Premier League and the normal Premier League admission price of £16 is charged. As mentioned by Shadders this means that the National League meetings are therefore free of charge with only the programme costing £3 to cover costs. If National League meetings are held as a stand alone meetings the cost would be £10. In hindsight it may have been better on your behalf if you had waited until the Somerset fixture had finished and then went to see if you were allowed entry to the Buxton meeting free of charge.
