I think Liam Rumsey is worth a try. He is another who has had his fare share of injuries which has curtailed his progress. He went O.K. around Central Park last season when riding for Mildenhall and is on a handy 3.05 ave.

Totally agree Waco that an experienced head in the pits is invaluable to help the youngsters with engine set ups and adapting to track conditions and in David Mason he still has a lot to offer in that field and can still mix it when needed. If David is not used for the King's in 2014 he would be a excellent choice as Team Manager / Coach. as someone who has been there, done it & got the T-Shirt and with his knowledge is respected by other riders is the league. With the rumours of Rye going EL. How about this as a 1-7. Obviously it's only for fun but would certainly bring back the old faces who have deserted the terraces. 1. Tai Woffinden. 2. Stuart Robson. 3. Eddie Kennett. 4. Anders Mellgren. 5. Linus Sundstrom. 6. Tyson Nelson. 7. Jason Garrity.

On the Kent CTA Kings website http://www.kentkings...e/20130606.html it states could be out for two weeks. So it will be interesting to see who the management will use as a guest to cover Jacks absence. The meetings he will miss i assume are;- Buxton, Home on 10th. Coventry, Away on 14th. Mildenhall, Away on 16th. Rye House, Home on 17th. I.O.W Away, on 18th. Maybe we could use Robert Lambert or Adam Ellis as they are both 3.00 average riders and would fit the bill.

On the whole with a bit of better fortune the Kings could of won this meeting. Obviously loosing Jack Kingston so early didn't help the cause which resulted in Adam Kirby & his mechanic (Dad Paul) having a busy night completing 7 rides which with under the stress of the curfew meant he had little time to change any set ups between races. with Ben Morley having a slow start to the meeting, the couple of retirements for Steve Boxall & Benji Compton and the falls for Adam whilst all in scoring positions resulted in valuable points being lost which would have resulted in a completely different scoreline. The signs are certainly looking good for the Kings and surely that elusive first win is on the cards this coming Monday versus Buxton. Confidence is what every rider needs when taking to the track and this week the track seemed a whole lot better and stood up well. All that is needed now in my opinion is some more banking on both bends as at the moment it is gate and go and there seems to be only the one racing line. Once the team have that consistency they will be able to get the results that they deserve for all their efforts they are putting in and can see the fan's getting behind them as they did even more as witnessed by the resulting sound of the noise from the cheers that greeted the 5-1 achieved in heat 15 by Ben & Benji, i can't wait to see what sort of reception they get when the team win that 1st meeting.

With Adam Roynon as the only British rider in this list, just shows how the future of British speedway has become so poor ( Tai Woffinden being the exception) by not giving the younger British lads a chance. Maybe some promoters might like to give them a chance to prove themselves instead of keep looking overseas for replacements.

In a way the National League is a form of a training league and as these kids are barely out of school they are learning to ply their trade and become full time riders. As this is Adam Kirby's first season of full time racing he should be given time to settle and maybe him and other young lads who need to start somewhere will get more laps and races under their belts and will hopefully show improvement and one day become Premier League or Elite League riders of the future. Not all of them can be naturally gifted and talented as the likes of Tai Woffinden and be an instant success like he was at Rye House, though I can still remember a certain Rye House rider in the 90's called Trevor O'Brien, who when first started racing could not do 2 bends without falling let alone 4 laps,but with time became a heat leader whilst riding with the like's of Jens Rasmussen & Martin Goodwin with him becoming a cult hero with the Rye House supporters.

I would have a look at Kenny Ingalls, Claes Nedermark. or Emillano Sanchez as they all go well around Rye with the added bonus of Jason Garrity riding at reserve.

R/R is O.K. if the rider they are replacing is not on the pace but it looked like Jason Bunyan was starting to look as good as he was before his injuries from a few seasons ago and his points will be missed.

As the joint promoter is Len Silver, i can see there being no membership / supporters club as he refuses to have one at Rye House since they re-opened, as he does not want any input from the fans. This maybe a different case at Kent with Neil Nikko Day on the board as he seems to appreciate the input the fans make.

I remember Ben taking the noticeable scalps of Leicester's Kauko Niemenen & Mickael Karlsson when scoring 6 + 1 during the meeting at Rye House in August. Ben was also very unlucky not to claim the Bronze helmet at the end of the season when clearly leading Ashley Birks, only for machine trouble on the 3rd lap to deny him the win. He also rode well in the end of season Premier League play off for Newcastle against Somerset on a very greasy track beating Alex Davies & James Wright in the process. Hopefully promoters at a loose end will look to Ben if they need cover for anyone who may be unfortunately curtailed by injury.

With no team announcements it's becoming a bit of a worry as one wonders if there will be 7 riders available for Kent to call upon with Buxton needing 4 more, Kings Lynn 3 and Coventry needing just 1. How many can you see progressing from the Anglian Junior League & Midlands Development League to make up the numbers and make Kent a competitive side.
