I'll always put us down for a win at Brandon whoever we have in the team.
-
Should keep the machine examiner on his toes if nothing else.
-
Now Uncle Gordon.... there was a good rider. 21 point max around the Abbey one time! Awesome.
-
I hope Kennett does stay at Coventry. I don't much rate the guy.

I take it the Christmas Light switch on tomorrow is now pretty much a non-starter as far as the Robins are concerned? It appears to have been hi-jacked by that Asda worker from Swindon who is one of Simon Cowells latest sacrificial lambs, er, sorry 'mega stars'. A real shame we never really got a chance to see at least a few of the team together to show our support and pride in them.
-
I do agree with you on that last point! As for where he's going to ride then we'll just have to wait and see I guess. Besides, Its Hans I want back, Troy not quite so much!
-
Care to clarify what exactly he does say then? Because thats how i'm reading it! Perhaps you just aren't seeing what is plainly there.Quote.... “It doesn’t really matter if Peterborough want me back if I don’t want to go back, it is up to me and I wouldn’t ride somewhere I didn’t want to ride. Quote..... “We had a lot of fun at Swindon with Hans and Peter there too, and everyone seemed to enjoy it and want to come back. Granted it does seem like perhaps there's some confusion as to what exactly constitutes an interview. Perhaps Troy needs to get in touch with Lord Leveson.

In todays Adver, Troy refusing to consider a return to Peterborough. Wants to remain a Robin.
-
If the contribution that Jason made to Swindon's League winning campaign was him being a liability then I wish there were more liability riders out there! I'd have a team of liabilities like the bloke.
-
Thats funny I read it as My chopsticks are broken how am i supposed to eat my noodle soup with my best suit at the dry cleaners.
-
Bigger fools Peterborough if they've bought more riders than they are able to use.

You know, having given this some thought, i'm pretty surprised at the manner in which they let Simon go. They let the guy turn up to a Fans Forum presumably knowing that they were going to be letting him go. I wasn't there so have no idea what kind of questions were asked of Stead but is it fair to say someone must have asked him if he'd be back? All the while his bosses must have been sat alongside him knowing he wouldn't be? That on the back of the misfired attempt to replace Simon. That they were considering it at that time was entirely reasonable, the manner in which it was handled maybe less so..... I realise it's tough being a boss with bigger considerations to think of, but its fair to say not many of us would enjoy being treated this way by our employers. I find myself empathising with Simon and feeling just a little disappointed with the Promotion for the manner in which its been handled.

That was quite some typo there from Batch! He should sign up to Google Chrome, it highlights spelling mistakes. I'm sure that should have said thanks mate, your a chum. Or something.
-
Remember Simon was very nearly not back at all for this season so its hardly a massive surprise. That being said he loved the Club and the team as if he was born in the town and we'll miss that. He may have been born on Yorkshire but its more than fair to call Steady a Swindonian. He can leave with his head held high after helping us to that Trophy. Good luck, Steady.

Thank you Excalibur Communications!

It shouldn't amaze anybody- this is the internet. Its what its for. And nobody made anything up about his no-show. We simply reasoned (possibly incorrectly, we'll see on that one) that it left him looking as if he didn't want to be answering questions about where he'll be next year. Perhaps he did just fall asleep. It certainly must have been an exhausting afternoon at the Civic Offices.

Just noticed there is a picture in todays Adver online. Not quite sure on Alun's reasoning about the Council being impressed at the Robins success 'as they did it without their (the Councils) help' huh? I wasn't aware any councillors were able to ride speedway machines?!
-
Troy 'overslept'? lol is he on Aussie time already? Sounds to me as if Troy isn't coming back- hence the no-show. Wonder when we are going to see pictures of the team getting glad-handed by the Mayor and hangers-on?
-
We have a headline sponsor appears to be the big news announcement. We will be known as The Excalibur Robins this coming season. A pretty cool name I think. And it looks like the Christmas light switch on has been rearranged for the 5th of December. Lets hope we have a few of the lads there.
-
A shame to see the Town Centre Christmas Light switch on, with the Robins in attendance, has been cancelled due to a poor weather forecast. Just about right for this season init.
-
Fat Maud and his silly games! Saying he's happy to leave naming his team until the eve of the season won't stop riders signing for other teams if they don't want to ride for Poole.
-
Nothing confirmed but im sure he will be.

I reckon PK is a done deal. The Promotion aren't daft! :t: They wouldn't be reporting that they are targeting him if there wasn't a signature on a contract. Added to which The Kid must be a definite and, as others have said, Hans is very much a Robin now- and we want him to stay that way!- so there's a nice nucleus of a team Steady as a d/u too. I'll be happy when we start getting confirmation though!
-
Absolutely. Simon really impressed, not only for the points haul and the way he rode in the Final, but also for the way he put it right. He clearly understood his bosses and us doubters and set about winning us over. I'm not going to say that i'm sorry that i doubted him, but i am going to say it was great to have the real Simon Stead back, just when we needed him. And, boy, did he ever come back! I honestly thought he was a spent force in the EL, i truly did. I hope he gets that D/U role and enjoys a great 2013 as a Robin and whoever is lucky enough to get him in the PL. He'll torch that League, big time!
