Wake Up Plymouth
DexterBeauregarde replied to DexterBeauregarde's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Having started this thread off and created quite a debate I feel that it is only right that I respond to the last few days news. The club have reacted to the critisism and concern shown by the paying fans, and those who have stopped going and reacted by bringing in an exciting rider in place of a struggling reserve. I hope that the fans do return because they have shown a commitment to us and we should all gather together and show them our thanks through the turnstiles. Equally I am sure we all wish Ben Reade all the best, it is such a shame that he was not competitive this year although he did try hard he just couldnt get the points. -
Frustrating is not the word. I would be happy to win home meetings and be in with a chance of an away point. I start a season hoping that we could scrape mid table but my hopes are dashed when I see our first few matches. For a moment I was excited that Adam Roynon became available but my hopes were dashed by reading a newspaper claiming the promotion cannot afford to run things right now, clearly that means no team improvements. My frustration is that we visit the SBA for entertainment and to be entertained and at the moment it just doesnt seem that the atmosphere is at the SBA. We dont entertain we scrape the points. To be honest and I dont like to single riders out but we have one guy flying at reserve and the other is expected to get nil points. He was dropped last year...why bring him back! Simota has been their and seen it and done it but can blow hot or cold!. We need to give Benko a chance they say and at home he can be exciting but away 5 rides and nil points just is not acceptable. The report said that the promotion listened to the supporters and put the team together, well all due respect but we didnt ask for an unknown rider from Hungry, and previously dropped rider??? There were so many riders available when we declared our team!! I feel also and this may be controversial but if you get a call from a respected ex rider regarding riding for your team (aka now Sheffield) you would consider it, but our Team Manager has no experience in the sport and is not respected. Look at Sheffield and us last year both very poor and this year, well the team and changes speak for themselves. I really dont want to be negative but the sooner the team become proactive and change things for the good of the team the fans will return, we all know that. Please stand up and listen!!

Awesome video 'you me at six' any idea who thevriders actually were? -
Sounds like lots of what if's, we need to hear an official line from the Bspa or Somerset, all worrying for Rebels fans

So importantly who is joining plymouth then, my money is on rasmus?

I agree with the concerns about Kurtz average. Down the road Roland Benko is at Plymouth and he has no experience and is on a 5.00. Whats the difference between the two? I suppose Manzaries at Ipswich has ridden in the World Cup so naybe he should have been slightly higher but who knows their is no rhyme nor reason behind it. At least the Rebels will beat their neighbours each time again this year!

I think manzaries will be good in the prem. League, the type of exciting rider people love to watch. Greatcsinging. -
I unfortunately think that the team put together will put a lot of people off coming, at least with two heat leaders with experience you were guaranteed 20 points a home mtg. Cant see it this year, absolutely shocking team make up. I fear its the worst assembled team pre season than for the last three years, people get excited in the off season with the names that may arrive and then too see this, it will be embassining when the speedway star predict us at the bottom or near enough again! Its the nightmare before christmas!!!

Today is feels like Christmas day when you were a child, the Devils have been saved at the 11th hour!!!I have not felt so much excitement about the season starting and team building. Personally Cory and Todd returning would be all I would want back and Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder added for reserve!! That would leave us a whole load of points for fill the remaining 3 spots....!!! Oh I love today!! Gino!!!

Have just read about Simon Lambert joining Rye House... So much for the fact he wanted to ride at Plymouth, bet no one actually approached him from the SBA... Oh well Richie Hawkins has now been released but I wont hold my breath he is not National League standard so I'm sure he wont interest our current promotion! -

Mikeyt well said I could not agree more. Banning him from the SBA will make up for all of the pain and heartache the Plymouth fans have to go through with Bowden at the helm! Many people have been banned from the SBA because they dont agree with the Promotion and many more are waiting to come back the day he leaves! -

I rarely post here but feel compelled to today. The local paper last week stated that Mr Bowden claimed it was a waste of time meeting against Ipswich. Whilst some people would agree he forgets to remember that he as promotor is putting on a show for the paying public. Can you imagine a circus stating come along but it wont be entertaining!! MMM then to complain publically about the attendence is something I can't agree with. He needs to remember he may have to a degree put off some people. On a more important note, have just read Simon Lambert has been released, surely he can fit in somewhere for us, better than certainly a number of our other riders, 7+1 earlier in the year for Leicester sounds good to me!!!
