Oh but they do Shano. @flagrag said so. Cracking GP rider at number 1 šš»
-
Thereās a world of difference between disclosing the intricacies of financials and delicate negotiations, and issuing general broader updates to keep supporters loosely in the loop.
-
Well no not at all. It was Louis himself that didnāt do what youāve suggested. HE was the one putting the timescale on a potential sale, so when that then come to pass it was obviously ramp up the concerns of the supporters. Why would he be ādamnedā if he now came out and told the supporters that talks were still ongoing? At least that would give the supporters something to cling on to. Alternatively, if itās all gone t!ts up, tell them. At least it would put them out of their misery. Either way, an update of some sort should now be forthcoming. Thereās concerned supporters out there waiting for news on a daily basis. Must be like pulling teeth! Supporters as always, treated like mushrooms.
-
This post from you flagrag is looking stranger by the day. How on earth could you claim to know the Ipswich team in early December when there clearly wasnāt a sale imminent, and Louis was off? Who had put this āteamā together?? Youāve even gone as far as saying there is a great new GP rider at number 1! Who was/is it??

2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams
Steve Irving replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
LOL stop being a wally. You wont name them because you havenāt got a ākin clue so stop pretending ffs. What do you think is going to happen to you if you name this mythical club? Do you seriously think theyāre going to track you down, and take you to court for naming a club youāve heard whispers about on the internet? Nothing more embarrassing than people doing the āI know something but itās not fair to name them because itās not my place. You wont name them because you know Jack sh!t!! Send me a PM with the name of the club, and IāLL name them on this forum for everyone else to see. You wont though will you, āMarky Markyā? -
2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams

Interesting isnāt it that youāll get people come on here being all cryptic with āthe team Iāve heard is neither Northampton or Mildenhallā etc etc, but none of them will actually say what the mystery club is? Wonder why that is? Think we all know the answer to that š -
They will indeed. If Belle Vue retain Kurtz, Lidsey will be squeezed out. Lawson seems another, as does Becker. Thatās without picking the bones out of Oxford and Birmingham although not many stand out granted. Musielak, Rew, Janowski maybe. So even a team that hasnāt even started to team build yet whether that be Ipswich or a mythical team that nobody knows about, could still build a competitive team almost by default.
-
I think itās high time everyone stopped using the word āpotentialā regarding Ben Cook. Heās 28 years old, not some up and coming teenager. Nobody would use the word potential with Adam Ellis any longer and heās only a year older. Cook has reached his level.
-
Donāt think anyone will be particularly bothered who wins next year. Stewart Dickson said in the SS a few weeks ago that he doesnāt really want next season to be a sticking plaster, but Iām afraid thatās exactly what itās going to be. Itās a case of just limping along, keeping the wheels moving at tracks and hope that something better is in the works for 2027 when the league can be taken more seriously.
-
So youāve heard who it is?
-
So he threatened to quit and the others have called his bluff, and heās now dug himself in to such a huge hole that he now canāt get out of? Silly boy, and all very sad tbh.
-
It absolutely is. I listened to his radio interview weeks ago where he was happily stating that he was already attempting to put together another ātitle winning sideā. There was absolutely nothing in that interview that hinted he was offski, nothing. You say you kind of donāt blame him, but is his stubbornness at things not going the way he wanted, worth depriving thousands of loyal supporters of their Speedway club? Clubs have gone to the wall in recent years which has been heartbreaking. Far far too many in recent years. But in each case from memory, those closures were forced due to one reason or another. To have another close, and one that seemingly still has an awful lot going for it despite the poor state of the sport in general in this Country, is unforgivable. Iām struggling to comprehend some on here defending Louis for threatening to pull the damn plug on a fine Speedway Club!
-
It isnāt unfounded though is it? Heās threatening to close a viable Speedway club because heās gotten the hump over something he ācanāt talk aboutā! Of course none of us know the figures involved, but if Ipswich are losing money then so is every single club up and down the Country! And if thatās the case, close it all down now. Somehow, I donāt think thatās the case. The fact is, clubs in the top flight who are not as well backed both via sponsorship or via gate receipts, are all coming to tapes in March. The man who is lucky enough to be backed by Thousands of loyal supporters, more than any other club in the top flight, is threatening to end Speedway for those very supporters. Nobody is suggesting he stays where he is forever, but if he canāt find a buyer before January the 6th, why canāt he do just one more year to keep Speedway going in Ipswich that has been running since the 50ās? That will give him plenty of time to find someone to take over for 2027 (if there is one). Just shutting up shop and closing Ipswich Speedway, should NOT under any circumstances be defended or accepted.
-
Those should be the ONLY two options, sell it or run it. I canāt believe the bloke has the brass neck to come out and say āI canāt say for definite that there will be a team for next year yetā Why canāt he? Because things simply ādonāt alignā for him anymore? Well they still align for thousands of Ipswich supporters who want to continue watching their beloved team next year you selfish t0sser!!!!!!!! And the fact thereās STILL people on here backing him and defending him I find absolutely staggering. You simply canāt be allowed to fold one of the very few profit making clubs in the entire country, one of if not THE best supported, and well backed clubs in the country, and a club with an available track and venue to continue racing at.
-
He has a point also though. Bewley was clearly taken by what he saw at Ipswich that night and quite clearly hasnāt witnessed anything remotely close at the NSS!
-
I think itās pretty evident that to a fair few Ipswich supporters, Chris Louis walks on water and canāt do a thing wrong. Theyāre going to back him no matter what. Which of course is their prerogative. As a neutral, heās rightly being criticised by others because heās treated his own supporters appallingly here.
-
Your point would carry far more weight if he wasnāt alone and others were doing the same. But theyāre not are they? Thereās four other clubs in that division, all four are not as well backed as Ipswich, and all four donāt get the numbers through the gate that Ipswich do either. And yet all four are prepared to battle on to save Speedway in the top flight while Louis has bailed. Louis has seriously let down the people of Ipswich and the amount of people coming on here and defending him is bonkers!
-
As far as Iām aware, he had no other job outside of speedway? So unless he made enough money out of his riding career to never work again (obviously not), then he simply MUST be earning a living out of Ipswich Speedway. Just like his Father John did before him. Id also bet that the 5k+ attendance at 24? Quid a pop (no season ticket admission remember) for the play off final has nicely paid for his little Holibobs to the other side of the world!
-
Yes, really. Weāll agree to disagree.
-
So Sheffield now join Belle Vue, Leicester, and Kings Lynn in confirming their place in the Premiership in 2026. Complete radio silence from Ipswich way leaving their supporters completely in the dark as to whether theyāll see any speedway next year. Meanwhile, the clubs owner has buggered off to Australia, at the most crucial time in the clubs history. Louis has treated the Ipswich supporters abysmally here Iām afraid.
-
Why are you believing anyone on here? You, or anyone else on here havenāt got a clue as to the genuine reasons why Louis has put Ipswich up for sale. @RoundTheBoards This time last year by the way, was telling everyone on here that Keynan Rew was definitely in the 2025 Ipswich side when the reality was, heād long since done a lucrative deal with Birmingham! Thatās the problem with this forum. You get an awful lot pretending to be āin the knowā when the reality is 99.9% donāt know their @rse from their elbow. Another classic from last year was someone claiming to have been with Ellis at a certain weekend, until his father came on and said Adam wasnāt even in the Country, he was having dinner with him in France! LOL.
-
Jack Holder also fits Flagragās description of āgreat new number 1 who if can master the track, could push him on in the GPāsā. Fits Bewley also to be fair.
-
Which one?
-
Another one hooked. Donāt take the bait Iain, you surely know what heās all about by now.
-
That was my initial thought reading Flagragās post too but just looking at the averages, Belle Vue finished on 39.77 (Although not the final GSAās). So if itās 37 for top six, they could keep the top two, and replace Lidsey with a five pointer and drop below the limit. PHB maybe?
