A lot will depend on race nights don't want a rider/riders missing matches every other week going to be hard fitting in fixtures to suit teams if riding in 3 leagues could be a lot or that man r/r next year in NL
-
Don't think when they say it's mega extra money its the fortunes that people think it is it could only be extra £10 a point That seals the deal And most teams have a budget to work too and won't go over that look at Ben barker he stated he called them because he wanted to ride for the club and likes what he saw when he raced there so did a lot of other top riders from what I was told so the club also had a bit to bargain with and its a riders job to go and earn whatever they can its a short season to make a living if it's your full time occupation pretty sure most folk would jump ship from year to year for better pay and working conditions

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
mac101 replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway

Don't think any club officially owns him yet
-
See max clegg has resigned for the monarch will he be riding NL next year as well As elite and pl
-
Camera never lies lol Camera never lies lol
-
Looks like he never touched him at all Marc left the door open for him after making a mistake coming out bend 4 and he passed cleanly
-
Difference in riding NL and PL is the tracks nearly every NL track is pretty slick or very slick just to help the mid range riders that would struggle to turn on a grippy trap think that's why he struggled to turn the bike at Glasgow but can see him getting to grips with the pl tracks pretty quick
-
Or maybe the 3 of them shhhh
-
I don't. Think our team for next year will be announced anywhere but from official sources after speaking to stewart last night said all leeks are filled lol
-
If berwick can only offer £20 a point and Glasgow offered £70 it's a no brainier some people would believe blacks white if it was said on the grassbanks
-
Riders will go anywhere for better workshop facility's van deals tracks facility's it's not always about the money and can assure you it's not mega money they get at Glasgow it's a complete package from a club that's going in the right direction and that's if he is really coming
-
Pretty sure he was carrying a few injuries but wanted to ride and not let the team down
-
every club should have there own local #8 that maybe could travel with the club even if it's just for experience of being in the team with the prospect of bringing him into the team as some point in the future that way they gain experience in what it takes to be a pl speedway rider and if there is a second half at the away track they can get a run out just to get track time on different away tracks
-
Pretty sure Ben Basford will be a reserve next year good rider getting better every meeting
-
Ricky wells has signed for worky for next year
-
This is a strange one he was meant to guest in the pl this year and was told his average would be either a 5 or a 7 can't remember the whole story although the he is classed as a Brit which you have to be to ride NL he was born in NZ but has British parents and he has ridden in his national championship also seem him say on FB if he is classed as a 7 he won't be back to uk next year as only riding NL is no good for him
-
Could keep both and put max in main team are he will hold his own around Armadale
-
By the sound of it any rider that has never ridden in the pl or ever had over 3 ave if they did A few good riders to pick from http://speedwaygb.co/files/downloads/nl15_issue_24.pdf
-
Is it not any NL rider that has not had a ave over 3 in the pl that able to take number 7 spot there us a helava lot if decent riders in the NL it's just about getting the right one if you think max Clegg and James Sargent came in this year as 3 pointers look at them now
-
Think max Clegg rob Branford have both stepped up this year as max said in his interview after final he has learned so much from the likes of cookie and Sam masters sedgy and if your willing to listen to these guys you will improve
-
Have been told that If they have a pl ave over 3 they can't be #7 so we will need around 21 NL riders between elite and PL with clubs that own riders having first choice of there rider so think Liam Carr will be Berwicks and Danny Phillips will be at Peterborough

REPORT FOR THE MEETING Yesterday saw the 2015 NJL Riders Championship take place at The Peugeot Ashfield Stadium Glasgow. From the original line up we lost Luke Ruddick who discovered bike problems during the warm up with reserve Northsides Kev Whelan stepping in. Heat 1 had the first mishap of the day with Josh Embleton flipping his bike doing a practice start on the back straight. He then failed to beat the 2 minutes. Ht 2 saw Ben Basford fall while leading but remounted to secure a point as George Rothery threw a chain. The next incident was heat 4 with Rothery taking a tumble and Kev Whelan laying down to try and avoid the fallen rider. Both riders were ruled out from the rest of the meeting George with broken fingers and Kev with damaged machinery. In between the mishaps there were a few good races in particular a tussle between Smith and McKenna in Heat 1 and a tremendous pass by MacDonald on Douglas in Heat 6. The scores after the qualifying heats were Josh Embleton 3 Blair Smith 5 Ryan MacDonald 9 Luke Mckenna 3 Kev Whelan 3 Ben Basford 7 George Rothery 0 Kieran Douglas 5 The final was initially led by Ben Basford with MacDonald doing the chasing when Basford suddenly slowed going in to the first bend in lap 2. The chasing MacDonald took avoiding action that caused him to slide off with the race being stopped. It was then discovered that Ben had slowed when he saw the red brake lights of a van leaving the stadium. The referee ordered a rerun with all 4 riders. MacDonald gated next time round and stayed in front till the chequered flag. Final result 1st Ryan MacDonald 2nd Ben Basford 3rd Kieran Douglas 4th Blair Smith Once again thank you to Glasgow speedway for allowing this to go ahead and to track photographer Ian Adam for the photograph.
