  1. Much safer to get on the 220 bus to Harlesden and then the no. 18 back home to Wembley. Ah those were the days.
  2. Sorry I can't help with any of the above but I do recall going to a meeting that was called off - it might have been the 18 November 1984 one. Also I couldn't help but notice Michael Lee's name in the 1975 Mildenhall line up. By the end of that year he had scored a top flight maximum. By 1977 he was British Champion and riding in a World Final and by 1980 he was of course World Champion. A quite exceptional talent.
  3. I think the covers did a fantastic job given the amount of rain up until about 90 minutes before the start. I even had to blow away some dust when filling in my programme after a few heats. At a cost of £20,000 and given the expense of postponing meetings it is difficult to understand why covers are not more widely used. As for the meeting, well done to AJ. I also thought Rune Holta was a worthy runner up on the night.
  4. I enjoyed the visit to Grindsted last week to see a 47 - 40 victory over Vojens. I've not seen such a black looking racing surface for many a year. Good to see Elite leaguers Eddie Kennett, Adam Skornicki and Henning Bager riding in a different league.
  5. There is a Danish League fixture at Grinsted (vs Vojens) on Friday. On Sunday the only meeting I am aware of is the 80cc Junior Championships at Korskro (Esbjerg).
  6. Just booked my family tickets for the second bend. Seemed a lot easier this year as in previous years I've only been able to get so far before being told to phone the ticketing agent!
  7. Lee Richardson is continuing to do his chances no harm!
  8. ...and what about that super Haggis who rode for the Wembley Lions back in 1970/71 - one of my first idols!
  9. It looked very nasty from what I could see - unfortunately the live stream was freezing quite a bit tonight for some reason. Although I couldn't understand any of the commentary, which was in Polish, it was clear that Hans was able to walk, unaided, back to the pits. Hopefully nothing more than a bit shaken up.
  10. I think I'm lucky too - my daughters have had photos taken with Scott and got autographs on dozens of occasions and he is always very friendly, but there again I cannot recall ever having had a bad experience with any rider.
  11. I would like to endorse that - I always look forward to reading your previews and round ups each week Anders - thank you very much.
  12. Thanks too from me r&r. I'm getting quite a fan of watching these meetings whilst having my tea on a Tuesday!
  13. I've no problem over Scott and Emil - it was heat of the moment stuff which they later regretted and apologised for. These things happen. However, the actions of Ashley Holloway is a different matter altogether and needs addressing.
  14. Any news on the sanctions that must surely be taken against Holloway?
  15. Just back home and I would like to say well done Jason who was terrific. Hard luck to Bomber, on another day or if he had not been at the back, Hans might not have fallen. Whilst not condoning the actions of Scott I have been thinking for sometime now that sooner or later someone was going to lamp Sayfutdinov. I didn't actually realise how unpopular he (Sayfutdinov) is until attending the Copenhagen and Cardiff GP's. As for Ashley Holloway surely he must be banned from entering the pits area in future.
  16. The station at the airport (at terminal 3) is Kastrup. The main central station in Copenhagen is I believe Kobenhavn H in danish. Hope this helps.
  17. Yes he certainly looked better last night. It was my first visit to Copenhagen and although the racing might have been better I enjoyed being at Parken. Copenhagen is a most enjoyable place to visit for the weekend and it was also nice to see so many other fans travelling out yesterday and coming back this evening.
  18. Remember hearing the news on the local radio - LBC - very sad. R.I.P Tommy
  19. The fixtures are on Griparna's website - www.griparna.nu
  20. Linlithgow for me - the only UK track that has staged league racing in the last 30 years that I missed out on visiting. The previous miss was Coatbridge. Also Landshut in Germany as I have been there (29 years ago) and it was postponed. Still a chance of getting back there though! Being either London/South East based since I started watching Speedway I'm sorry to have missed out on West Ham, Rayleigh, Romford and Reading Tilehurst.
  21. I think Scott will be back simply because he is the best GP rider outside the top eight. He should be in it regardless of nationality. As for the rest like many of you I would be inclined to give Lindgren another go and bring in some new blood in Emil and Noddy.
  22. I think it's August 1st for Prague. Should find out for sure soon though!
