I also wonder if we will have a Zagar/Kennett type nomination this time round i.e a rider who is widely reported as being included and then we find out something very different!
Not am armchair viewer I'm afraid - if I wanted to watch Gollob win (and I hope he does) I would be in Terenzano but I'll save myself for Bydgoszcz which should be a great occasion, in the meantine it'll be Rye v Plymouth for me (and a handful of others)
Yes it's a shame that no real effort ever seems to be made by anyone to get these meetings moving along although as you say things did quicken up eventually.
We have 30 heats to look forward to at Rye on Saturday. I think I'll be checking who the ref is before I decide whether to go or not.
I agree with you Mick about the increased numbers watching Speedway (and many other things) via the internet and I certainly know of Speedway fans who no longer bother with Sky because of this.
Yes after two really nice days it is a bit wet down this way this morning. We are in Slovenia at Terme Catez which I believe is about 1 hour 30 minutes away.
Fingers crossed for later.
Scott obviously forgot that he has ridden at reserve for Vargarna earlier this season then!
Of the incidents in heat 5 I feel THJ should have been excluded for knocking off Adam Shields in the first running of the race. Scott was probably a little fortunate not to go in the rerun although all three back was arguable and indeed this is what the ref decided. In the second rerun I thought the main fault was with THJ again and indeed the referee excluded him this time. As others have said these were simply racing incidents.
Anyway I hope both riders quickly recover and are racing again soon.
Poole made a late recovery from a bad position in a KOC final at Coventry a few years ago. I'll have to dig out my programme to check but I do recall that Coventry also helped by gifting some silly points in heat 14!
