  1. According to the BSPA website it is the second part of a double header on 11 September - Rye House v Newport x 2 then!
  2. I might venture down to Newport for the second week running. Any news on line ups?
  3. Scott obviously forgot that he has ridden at reserve for Vargarna earlier this season then! Of the incidents in heat 5 I feel THJ should have been excluded for knocking off Adam Shields in the first running of the race. Scott was probably a little fortunate not to go in the rerun although all three back was arguable and indeed this is what the ref decided. In the second rerun I thought the main fault was with THJ again and indeed the referee excluded him this time. As others have said these were simply racing incidents. Anyway I hope both riders quickly recover and are racing again soon.
  4. Must have been something you said philcrumpisgod as the BSPA site has now withdrawn the section relating to all KOC results!
  5. Good luck Danny - I'm sure it will not be long before you have a team place again.
  6. Poole made a late recovery from a bad position in a KOC final at Coventry a few years ago. I'll have to dig out my programme to check but I do recall that Coventry also helped by gifting some silly points in heat 14!
  7. Well done Poland and Tomasz Gollob in particular. I hope he goes on to be World Champion this year.
  8. Best seven I've seen ride based on all time achievement are: Ivan Mauger Tony Rickardsson Ove Fundin Barry Briggs Hans Nielsen and two from Ole Olsen/Erik Gundersen/Nick Pedersen/Jason Crump Best seven based on me watching them are: Ivan Mauger Tony Rickardsson Hans Nielsen Bruce Penhall Michael Lee Peter Collins Ole Olsen Fundin and Briggo were past their best when I first saw them.
  9. Well done Chris, Scott, Lee, Tai and Simon! Made me proud to be British watching you last night!
  10. Well done to the Cobra's for putting up a good fight with a depleted team and well done to Bournemouth for making the most of the chance of victory that was handed to them. It was also good to see Shane Hazelden scoring plenty of points.
  11. I'm glad someone else has said that as I thought it was just my hearing going - I couldn't hardly understand a single word all night! Fortunately it didn't spoil my enjoyment as it was easy enough to follow what was happening!
  12. There is no accounting for taste when it comes to sport and I am sure there will even be some people watching a football match from South Africa right now!
  13. Well done Chris Holder - the first of several GP wins I feel! Hard luck Tomasz Gollob but he still has a great chance of being World Champion this year. I've never been a great fan of Jarek Hampel but he is certainly a much better rider than the often disinterested one who turned out for Ipswich so well done to him for raising his game and showing us what he can do. Having said that I seem to recall he came close to winning at Cardiff once before - 2006 I think!
  14. Excellent work Tom and I look forward to the final version!
  15. I once read Jason Crump has done just that - has his own starting gate as well!
  16. I seem to recall it being announced one year that he was in attendance although sometimes it can be difficult to understand clearly what is being said over the PA system! As an aside I did spot Freddie at Rye House on Saturday, sat next to Uncle Len!
  17. ... and given that most of our tracks stage considerably more meetings than many tracks in other countries quite a chunk of World Speedway takes place in the UK!
  18. Given that the Islanders were missing Nick Simmons I feel they did well to score 40 against the Tigers who have a good chance of finishing in the top four.
  19. Hi David I visited Linkoping a few weeks ago and very much enjoyed the meeting there - viewing from high up on the terracing added to the spectacle I felt! Also the standard of racing was very good for third tier Speedway. I'm sure you'll enjoy Motala too. I managed to see a Wednesday night Elite league meeting there a couple of years ago and thought it was a very good race track. Next on my Swedish hitlist are Vargarna and Griparna both within easy reach of Stockholm Skavasta airport! Good luck with your travels. Regards Eddie
  20. Well done Tomasz - it could well be the season that he is World Champion and given his efforts throughout his GP career I don't think many would deny him that.
