  1. I would like to endorse that Alan - the Swedish threads are indeed very informative so thank you very much Anders and Ghostwalker.
  2. Tom will indeed be missed - he's been great to watch on track. Good luck for the future Tom!
  3. I also wonder if we will have a Zagar/Kennett type nomination this time round i.e a rider who is widely reported as being included and then we find out something very different!
  4. Jo (Joe) seems to improve each time I see him and I would say a Premier League reserve berth could well be well within his grasp for next season.
  5. My daughter had a count up and came up with 185 plus 4 watching on the bank outside! Good to see Jo Jacobs and Ben Morley scoring plenty of points.
  6. Not am armchair viewer I'm afraid - if I wanted to watch Gollob win (and I hope he does) I would be in Terenzano but I'll save myself for Bydgoszcz which should be a great occasion, in the meantine it'll be Rye v Plymouth for me (and a handful of others)
  7. Less than 24 hours to go so I thought it about time we had a thread. Anyone else going apart from me and cityrebel?
  8. Very pleased to hear Marc is out of hospital and best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. All being well he'll get a few more laps in this season!
  9. Yes it's a shame that no real effort ever seems to be made by anyone to get these meetings moving along although as you say things did quicken up eventually. We have 30 heats to look forward to at Rye on Saturday. I think I'll be checking who the ref is before I decide whether to go or not.
  10. I agree with you Mick about the increased numbers watching Speedway (and many other things) via the internet and I certainly know of Speedway fans who no longer bother with Sky because of this.
  11. Yes after two really nice days it is a bit wet down this way this morning. We are in Slovenia at Terme Catez which I believe is about 1 hour 30 minutes away. Fingers crossed for later.
  12. According to the BSPA website it is the second part of a double header on 11 September - Rye House v Newport x 2 then!
  13. I might venture down to Newport for the second week running. Any news on line ups?
  14. Scott obviously forgot that he has ridden at reserve for Vargarna earlier this season then! Of the incidents in heat 5 I feel THJ should have been excluded for knocking off Adam Shields in the first running of the race. Scott was probably a little fortunate not to go in the rerun although all three back was arguable and indeed this is what the ref decided. In the second rerun I thought the main fault was with THJ again and indeed the referee excluded him this time. As others have said these were simply racing incidents. Anyway I hope both riders quickly recover and are racing again soon.
  15. Must have been something you said philcrumpisgod as the BSPA site has now withdrawn the section relating to all KOC results!
  16. Good luck Danny - I'm sure it will not be long before you have a team place again.
  17. Poole made a late recovery from a bad position in a KOC final at Coventry a few years ago. I'll have to dig out my programme to check but I do recall that Coventry also helped by gifting some silly points in heat 14!
  18. Well done Poland and Tomasz Gollob in particular. I hope he goes on to be World Champion this year.
  19. Best seven I've seen ride based on all time achievement are: Ivan Mauger Tony Rickardsson Ove Fundin Barry Briggs Hans Nielsen and two from Ole Olsen/Erik Gundersen/Nick Pedersen/Jason Crump Best seven based on me watching them are: Ivan Mauger Tony Rickardsson Hans Nielsen Bruce Penhall Michael Lee Peter Collins Ole Olsen Fundin and Briggo were past their best when I first saw them.
  20. Well done Chris, Scott, Lee, Tai and Simon! Made me proud to be British watching you last night!
  21. Well done to the Cobra's for putting up a good fight with a depleted team and well done to Bournemouth for making the most of the chance of victory that was handed to them. It was also good to see Shane Hazelden scoring plenty of points.
