  1. I guess you would need to ask the Swedes and the Danes to answer that question!
  2. The Allsvenskan fixtures are now known http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/schedule.php?id=2&s=2011
  3. James Not sure if this helps but if last season is anything to go by we will have the Elitserien fixtures within the next week and the Allsvenskan fixtures around the middle of December. The Division 1 fixtures were published in mid January if my memory serves me correctly. Kind regards Eddie
  4. Yes indeed Nov 10 1979 at Cradley for the Nigel Wasley memorial meeting - remember it well as it was pretty cold that night! Two best pairs events, one won by Ila Teromaa & Alan Grahame and the other by Nigel Flatman & Mike Spink.
  5. I recall that the elite league fixtures were out in early December last year so possibly not that long to wait.
  6. Congratulations and very well done to Buxton who are a real credit to third tier Speedway.
  7. David It would be odd if this was the reason as they were planning on meetings on consecutive days on 2/3 October. They have also run meetings on consecutive days a number of times previously. Very disappointing all the same. Regards Eddie
  8. Well done Bomber. It was great to travel all the way to Bydgoszcz last weekend to see him reach the final and move up the GP standings.
  9. Thanks for posting these which contain happy memories from a very enjoyable afternoon at Leszno on Sunday.
  10. I would like to endorse that Alan - the Swedish threads are indeed very informative so thank you very much Anders and Ghostwalker.
  11. Tom will indeed be missed - he's been great to watch on track. Good luck for the future Tom!
  12. I also wonder if we will have a Zagar/Kennett type nomination this time round i.e a rider who is widely reported as being included and then we find out something very different!
  13. Jo (Joe) seems to improve each time I see him and I would say a Premier League reserve berth could well be well within his grasp for next season.
  14. My daughter had a count up and came up with 185 plus 4 watching on the bank outside! Good to see Jo Jacobs and Ben Morley scoring plenty of points.
  15. Not am armchair viewer I'm afraid - if I wanted to watch Gollob win (and I hope he does) I would be in Terenzano but I'll save myself for Bydgoszcz which should be a great occasion, in the meantine it'll be Rye v Plymouth for me (and a handful of others)
  16. Less than 24 hours to go so I thought it about time we had a thread. Anyone else going apart from me and cityrebel?
  17. Very pleased to hear Marc is out of hospital and best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. All being well he'll get a few more laps in this season!
  18. Yes it's a shame that no real effort ever seems to be made by anyone to get these meetings moving along although as you say things did quicken up eventually. We have 30 heats to look forward to at Rye on Saturday. I think I'll be checking who the ref is before I decide whether to go or not.
  19. I agree with you Mick about the increased numbers watching Speedway (and many other things) via the internet and I certainly know of Speedway fans who no longer bother with Sky because of this.
  20. Yes after two really nice days it is a bit wet down this way this morning. We are in Slovenia at Terme Catez which I believe is about 1 hour 30 minutes away. Fingers crossed for later.
