  1. I'm just about to book in some meetings in Sweden in the week prioir to the Copenhagen GP (which I had planned to go to anyway). This is likely to include two visits to Vetlanda on consecutive days (5 and 6 June) for the match against Piraterna and then the Swedish National Championships. I was just wondering if there was any danger that the league match might be held some other time given the proximity of the meetings. Any thoughts from our Swedish friends would be most appreciated.
  2. Ah that explains it - I wondered why they kept asking me if I would like to have no balls!
  3. You are correct ET as in 2001 I remember staying in the same hotel as the Pakistani cricket team!
  4. It was changed to 29 September several months ago and is now on the FIM calendar on their website http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/speedway-gp/qualifications/events/
  5. Elitserien fixtures for 2012 These are on Valsarna's website although strangely they show the year as 2011 and not 2012! http://www.valsarna....serien_2012.pdf
  6. Hi Tony - do you remenber Trevor Geer and Paul Gachet appearing in an episode of The Sweeney filmed at Wood Lane?
  7. Me too Ole - done this for the last two seasons as well. As I recall last time it was Elitserien and Allsvenskan well before Xmas with Division One in the New Year. Enjoy your trip!
  8. It was also originally on the SGP website as 8 September (and still is in some places) but they then changed it in part to 28 August. Given the past record of this particular website I'm sure it's a mistake though and no doubt they will correct it back to the original date soon!
  9. Has Mallila really changed to Tuesday 28 August (3 days after Cardiff)? Although this is on the official GP website it isn't always accurate or reliable hence the reason for my question. http://www.speedwayworld.tv/event/speedwaygp-2012-malilla
  10. As things stand at the moment I think the nominations will be Nicki and Darcy for sure. Freddie then has a good chance but I feel he needs to do well in the next two rounds. I agree with T.N.T. that no other rider stands out for the remaining place although if the organisers decide it has to be a British rider it will surely be Bomber and he will have to count himself extremely fortunate should that be the case. I also feel that if any of the riders currently in the top 8 are displaced they will be nominated for 2012.
  11. Copenhagen - Saturday 9 June 2012? No official announcement but I found this. http://www.speedwaygp.com/event/speedwaygp-2012-copenhagen
  12. Now Saturday 9 June 2012? http://www.speedwaygp.com/event/speedwaygp-2012-copenhagen

  14. Paul - the later start is to enable it to cool down a bit! EDIT Just noted GW beat me to it by a few seconds!
  15. I can also remember it when it has been confirmed as late as September although most people had taken a guess when booking hotels.
  16. Well said Alan - I always look forward to Tuesday and can't wait for my next trip back to Sweden following my recent visit to Norrkoping, Eskilstuna and Nykoping.
  17. Just got back to my Hotel - it was Oliver Berntzon who fell in heat 10 - hopefully he will be ok. John Lindman looped at the start in heat 2. Griparna 53 v 37 Gnistorna.
  18. My first visit to the Norrkoping track last night - a very enjoyable evening apart from Damian Balinski's crash. Vetlanda may have gone on to win the meeting but for that piece of bad luck! Eskilstuna tonight (Tigrarna v Solkatterna) for a big away win and then Nykoping tomorrow for Griparna v Gnistorna and back home on Friday. To anyone who likes Speedway and a bit a travel I would thoroughly recommend a trip or two to Sweden.
  19. I would like to wish John Resch a speedy recovery. Congratulations to Joe Jacobs on his paid maximum and many thanks to the chap who sold me his programme after they had sold out (again)!
  20. Thanks Phil - I'll be setting off from Buckinghamshire soon then!
  21. Lewis Whitmore is I believe the name of the mascot!
  22. That's a shame but many thanks for the clarification Phil.
  23. Tony I believe they decided some months ago that Wolverhampton was the favoured option for most of the Heathens fans. Edit - just noted that Brummie Kev beat me to it!
