I think it would also help if meetings started at their advertised start time. Some tracks are not too bad but there are a few that have no urgency whatsoever to run a meeting promptly and you only need someone like Tony Steele in charge to be sure of a long night!
Yes Nick Morris was there and I asked him if he fancied riding in the meeting and he explained he had no equipment available so that had ruled him out anyway.
I first started going to Speedway at Wembley in 1970 when Freddie was team manager of the Lions!
It was also great to see him attending Speedway so regularly over the years!
R.I.P Freddie
Given the current problems I'm not too surprised at Patchett's comments although I'm not sure his stated view is entirely consistent with his own actions in recently signing Doyle and Morris as full assets.
I'm looking forward to this having been to the previous four at Sheffield, Rye House, Scunthorpe and Birmingham!
First rider announced is Ben Barker who has appeared in all previous Ben Fund meetings and won last time out at Perry
Barr.
I am thinking of taking these meetings in. Have you or any other forum members been in previous years? Any thoughts or advice would be most appreciated.
Interesting map as it is the only one I've seen with a road crossing the railway line between the E18 (to the North) and Solna Train Station (to the South). I guess this must be a new road that hasn't found it's way onto many maps as yet but it may influence which Hotel I stay in!
Having watched Ice racing in Russia at -25°C the OTA should be somewhat warmer!
However like oldtimer I have dived in and out of the clubhouse before now!
