  1. So on the basis that Coventry own both Barker and Kennett then it seems the PL have first pick (whatever the fixture!!) and Plymouth were willing to release Barker for an official fixture but Rye House were not. I agree with virtually all of the above posts. I dread to think what we'll get on Good Friday - there won't be enough riders to go round!
  2. So in Kennett's case a PL challenge takes preference but not in Barker's case!
  3. In the time log the comment from the Stadium at 2.49pm is really odd given what they say immediately before and after. Looks like it was slotted in at the wrong place as an after thought.
  4. Has anyone managed to order tickets yet as it seems there are problems if you read the feedback at:- http://www.bilesuserviss.lv/eng/concerts/sports/motoru_sports/?concert=140898
  5. Arrived at 11.30am and parked up at the Stadium with no problem although I heard of others arriving shortly after and turning back as they couldn't find / be bothered to find alternative parking. There were long queues to get in and that side of things certainly could have been better organised as it was clear there would be problems two hours before the start time. Unfortunately I also heard of those who were unable to / couldn't be bothered to queue and heading for home. Racing was about what I would expect for Leicester with Craig Cook and Nick Morris the stand out riders. Big turnout, lovely day and lots of money raised for a great cause!
  6. Yes indeed sometimes booking tickets for Polish GP's requires lots of patience, perseverance, guesswork and a little bit of luck!
  7. Mr Nimby aka Raymond Shields is a fireman (rather ironic given his property was destroyed by fire) - I hope they don't put the sirens on when on a 999 call as no doubt he would lodge a complaint against his employer!
  8. It looks like the NIMBY's also failed to notice the huge Airbase just down the road! The noise from the aircraft totally drowns out any Speedway noise when one flies over the stadium! I didn't appreciate a forklift had been driven into the heating oil tank which caused a fire and destroyed the NIMBY's home - Karma?
  9. The late Tony Millard also covered both Speedway at Eastbourne and Football at Brighton.
  10. No amazingly he was awarded one but fortunately the weather stopped it going any further (for now at least)!!!
  11. I agree about Luke and there is something seriously wrong with a system that rewards Kasprzak for his services to British Speedway!
  12. I just had the later e mail asking me to ignore the earlier e mail (that I hadn't received). Good to know our tickets are in safe hands!
  13. I found an old thread on dead heats that I started in 2007! http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=38527&hl=%20dead%20%20heats On bonus points it might be my mind playing up but I think the rules changed at one stage at least for a while as I recall Andy Smith scoring 1/2 a point in a meeting when he dead heated for third but he scored one bonus point so more in bonus points than actual points!
  14. I noticed this a few weeks ago and asked Ryanair why they had failed to notify me. They did not directly answer my question but said I was entitled to my money back which I knew anyway. I use Ryanair a lot for Speedway trips but frankly trying to communicate with them over anything is usually a complete waste of time in my experience.
  15. Gdansk is also quite easy to get to and from Torun - just under two hours away and mostly on very new and virtually empty motorway!
  16. Sadly there are far too many to mention them all but a few that stand out for me are:- Wembley where I first saw Speedway. I have really enjoyed trips to Hyde Road Belle Vue, The Shay Halifax and County Ground Exeter. Trelawny was a great experience as well! Now I'm based in Buckinghamshire it would be nice to have Milton Keynes back! Finally, I really hope the Isle of Wight does not join the list!
  17. Well how about something like they will be in a white envelope, appropriately addressed and with the correct postage paid? It's elementary my dear Watson
  18. Allsvenskan fixtures for 2014 http://www.svemo.se/sv/Grenar/Speedway/Nyheter/ALLSVENSKANSPEEDWAY2014/
  19. I would like to add my thanks as well - you all do a great job - well done!
  20. Well Riga is being reported by quite a few different sources this evening! Time will tell of course!
  21. Well done Rory for his win and well done to those riders who gave it a go on a very difficult track. So far as the others are concerned at the outset I had predicted Watt, Pedersen and Bjerre would put little or no effort in and that they would withdraw before the meeting concluded. At least Bjerre completed 3 of his 4 rides to set him apart from the other two.
  22. November meetings are indeed a rarity these days. The last one I went to was in 1998 (Coventry vs Ipswich). In the 70's and 80's they were commonplace. Some November's I went to several meetings and as late as the 10th day of the month.
