  1. Nothing wrong with your memory CHR - the Poles won convincingly at West Ham in 1967!
  2. I recall there was talk of putting back into January but not heard anything for a while.
  3. How times have changed as those of us with longer memories will recall the Polish teams who struggled badly (for a number of differing reasons) when they came to the UK! All very different now though!
  4. This might help you https://www.facebook.com/205603984257/photos/a.10151579609494258.1073741825.205603984257/10152998213669258/?type=1&theater
  5. I have been to watch a few of the Sunday practice sessions and am very impressed with the work Andrew is putting in. He also has some very promising young riders that he is working with and hopefully some of them will be seen riding for the Raiders in 2015. The National League looks to be an exciting place to be involved with next season.
  6. Darcy Ward did wrong and (has been) will be rightly be punished! I also hope that those clowns at the FIM (who have been 'overseeing' this farcical process) are suitably admonished as well!
  7. Some good points being made on this thread. Perhaps the collapse of this dubious ownership system is near to an end which is possibly why there do not appear to be many transfers these days and certainly not many that involve much money.
  8. I agree with doubts expressed above. Speedway riders are also self-employed so I'm not really sure how they can be looked upon as assets of a particular club. Maybe something in the contracts they sign?
  9. I would echo the above - a very enjoyable finale to the season! Well done to both teams! I hope several riders on display also get PL berths next year!
  10. Because re-staging it Friday was the best way of getting out of an unwelcome trip to Plymouth?
  11. In a nutshell his inept handling of the events before the start of Heat 10! Myself and many who witnessed the events along with me felt that he should be called to account but he is hardly going to criticise himself in his report to the SCB!
  12. I'm disappointed but not at all surprised that Jim Lawrence, the ref, escaped any form of punishment!
  13. Quite agree DG! Lodz vs Czestochowa:- The Sportowefakty website now has the meeting at an unknown time on the 12th. The Lodz website has it at an unknown time on the 19th. Life is never made easy for the travelling Speedway fan!
  14. Just checked the Lodz website and the Czestochowa match is listed for the following week (19th October)!
  15. Looks like Gniezno (90 mins. from Torun) have decided to run a meeting on the day of the GP starting at 4pm!!! Początek zawodów zaplanowano na godzinę 16:00. which translates to:- October 11 at the track in Gniezno tournament will be held, which will end the season speedway in the city. The event will start among other things, Jonas Davidsson and brothers Gomólscy. Tournament Tickets are priced at 15 zł (main grandstand) and 10 zł (other sectors). The current list of occupations page consists of 12 players. The cast appear even speedway with ENEA Extraleague. The beginning of the competition is scheduled for 16:00 hour.
  16. From what I saw I assume the charge will be assault.
  17. The yellow exclusion light came on almost immediately following the clash on the home straight. The red lights came on a little later. Good to see James and Nathan shaking hands tonight.
  18. I agree OM - I hope strong sanctions are taken against Jim Lawrence for his total mishandling of the situation.
  19. I don't think anyone has blamed the ref for throwing punches. The criticism levelled was for his inept handling of the events prior to the start of heat 10.
  20. Based on what I saw there will be plenty of evidence for the Police to press charges. I think there are a few who may not be sleeping too well whilst waiting for an invitation to assist the Police with their enquiries. I also hope that Jim Lawrence (the ref) is suitably punished as I am convinced none of this would have happened had he exercised due care and control.
  21. Jim Lawrence the ref lost all control over the start and tempers were clearly becoming frayed. Lawrence could and should have prevented the situation by taking firmer and more decisive action before the start of the race. Once the race was underway Nathan was excluded for unfair riding and the red lights were put on and then a series of thoroughly unpleasant events took place which no doubt the Police who arrived at the scene will be investigating. Not nice to watch.
  22. Well done Coventry for a comeback against a strong Kent team. I thought the Greenwood's rode very well and Danny Ayres was impressive. I also agree with the comments made about Chris 'rerun' Gay!
