  1. Couldn't agree more Tony! I still can't believe they decided not to run against the England v Belgium play off match that most people were not remotely interested in. I have a limited interest in football and like many others I did tune in for the Colombia, Sweden and Croatia games. In fact I don't know anyone who didn't watch at least part of the Croatia match but equally I don't know anyone who watched any of the play off game against Belgium. I certainly would have attended the Mildenhall fixture had Eastbourne staged it that evening but almost certainly won't attend when they eventually decide to run it probably on a cold and damp autumn evening!
  2. Yes indeed - the silent majority would appear to have voted with their feet!
  3. It is a little strange that when they could ride on a Saturday last season it seemed they hardly ever did so much so that they ended up racing 4 home fixtures very close together just so they could squeeze them in by deadline. Just wondering how Saturday has become more practical/desirable this year compared to last season!
  4. Tony - probably by relying on you, me and a rapidly dwindling bunch of other old gits nomads!
  5. Whatever the rights and wrongs this is typical Speedway these days I'm afraid - so glad I couldn't be bothered to make the 270 mile round trip although I was briefly tempted but then I recalled all the times I've been done over for Speedway in the past and opted to stay indoors!
  6. A truly great Speedway rider and a wonderful example to others. I was fortunate to watch him ride throughout the 70’s and win his 4th, 5th and 6th World titles! R.I.P. Ivan
  7. Well done to the Panthers! If anyone has the race times for heats 5 and 6 I would be most grateful if they could share them - many thanks!
  8. Very sad - he won the very first race I saw at Foxhall in a time of 75.4! R.I.P. Ron
  9. On 10 June you might consider Wroclaw v Grudziadz and on 17 June either Zielona Gora v Wroclaw or Leszno v Torun. All within 6 hours of Prague if driving. In between there is a meeting at Pardubice on 13 June as you have indicated.
  10. "A slag supporter is a man between the ages of 40-59 , who lives in a two / three-person household and actively uses the Internet" This comment/translation could be taken the wrong way!
  11. If you are looking at somewhere to go after Horsens then a trip to Brokstedt on 1 July for a Bundesliga fixture might be worth considering?
  12. Unfortunately I don’t believe the Champex-Lac meeting will be staged in February either.
  13. I didn't work anything out but merely asked a question? There is a possible clue in Steve Shovlar's last post though! I entirely agree with your sentiments though!
  14. Yes I know and I asked my original question because it looks like Matt could now get his own way!
  15. Are British promoters are conspiring to shaft Holder by any chance?
  16. Yes Tim - I feel truly honoured to share a page with your good self!
  17. Countries visited for Speedway (25)

England, Wales, Scotland, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Czech Republic, Russia, Holland, Croatia, Finland, Latvia, Australia,

Belgium, Slovakia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Slovenia, France, Canada, Norway, Austria, South Africa

  18. I knew Noddy really well and will miss seeing him particularly around Foxhall. I also always appreciated how nice he was to my family. Can't believe it was only a few weeks ago that I sat in the Diner with him at Ipswich chatting away ahead of cup final against Peterborough. Such sad news - R.I.P Noddy
  19. Holder? - It is November 1st and not April 1st isn't?
  20. I hope that Holder getting a Wildcard is just a wind up just like it was a few years back when it was speculated that Kennett was a pick?
  21. I seem to recall John Berry also mentioned it in one of his books. Berry had openly slated Cook in the programme for the first leg and Cook took his revenge in the second leg!
  22. I was there and it seemed clear to me that Cook made no mistake that night - he deliberately ran his team mate wide and as you say went on to celebrate his team losing. Revenge against John Berry is widely considered the reason behind his actions.
  23. The Peterborough promotion will know and their continuing silence does them no favours at all.
  24. Yes I remember that although I recall Gollob pulled out and was replaced by Ermolenko. I agree commitment from some riders is not what it once was!
