  1. Rather than make all these novelty changes it is a pity nothing is done to get the best riders lining up!
  2. I guess PS wouldn’t talk about his own incompetence as he has no idea that he is incompetent when it comes to rules and tactics!
  3. Not many have done more for Speedway than Uncle Len. R.I.P.
  4. From my own experience of being in the pits with riders most are naturally focused on doing their own rides and one thing I have discovered when helping riders is how the time between races seems to pass a lot quicker in the pits than it does on the terraces. I doubt many riders would be fully in tune with potential tactical issues during the meeting.
  5. I am completely neutral and I don’t even dislike Poole which admittedly might seem unusual for a non Poole fan. So congratulations to the Pirates and hard luck to the Cheetahs. As most know Schroeck’s failure to use Killeen in heat 12 at Oxford certainly didn’t help. Also throwing Jody Scott in at the deep end didn’t pay off although he will have gained valuable experience for next season. Unfortunately by his own very high standards Scott Nicholls didn’t have a great night either. The Foord, Killeen crash happened just in front of where I was sitting. Foord should have been excluded in my mind although I could understand how someone on the other side of the stadium would not have seen what I saw. With BSN replays (which I have also seen) the ref should have been able to get it right though! In the end though Poole won and Oxford didn’t. Both clubs have had a very good season and have lots to be pleased about and thankful for so well done to both of them and I look forward to attending both legs of the cup final.
  6. Not sure about FB but on the website this is what it says about heat 12. ’Pirates hit back a 5-1 in Heat 12, despite a mighty effort from Scott’ It mentions elsewhere that Killeen was in inspirational form. Obviously not inspirational enough for the Team Manager! 🤔
  7. Your comment only makes any sense if Mark Lemon knew that Ben Cook was going to get injured in heat 10!
  8. Maybe ask Leicester to start the game v Bournemouth a bit earlier? 😄
  9. Tonight’s meeting in Sweden was postponed yesterday so Kurtz and Bewley (and Douglas) have a day off!
  10. Maybe due to the European U19 Championships at Herxheim the following afternoon where Luke Killeen and Ashton Boughen (reserve) are riding? Luke Harrison is also in that meeting so I wonder if he’ll be riding for Scunthorpe at Poole on 2 October?
  11. Just to clarify this meeting is actually on a Thursday afternoon at 14:00 and not a Saturday as per the title thread. October 3 is a public holiday in Germany.
  12. I wonder if Lemon’s failure to give Mulford his third ride in heat 9 will comeback to haunt him?
  13. Congratulations to Oxford for progressing to the final and well done to Scunthorpe for a battling display which pushed the Cheetahs all the way!
  14. Yes indeed a 4 point deficit might have been the perfect scenario but a nice warm and sunny day usually helps and at the moment we are having one of them.
  15. I actually agree as Oxford’s it’s on until it’s off policy unfortunately does damage goodwill to some extent on the occasions when it backfires. One only has to read the comments on social media to appreciate that. However, with the second leg now taking place on next Wednesday and the Cheetahs putting in a very good performance at Scunthorpe last night I expect a bumper crowd on Wednesday to turn up to see them advance to the final! The weather also looks pretty good next week which always helps!
  16. A very enjoyable meeting with lots of close racing - well worth the journey up through all the Friday afternoon traffic! No doubt Oxford will be pleased with a lead to take to the second leg.
  17. No more of a cost than they had planned unless they are going to give a second free drink next week as well! The catering profits will be greater over the two weeks though! 😄
  18. It makes even less sense doing absolutely nothing to the track until just before the start time. Looking at the track at 06:15pm I didn’t think it would be on and that’s how it played out! Also unfortunately Oxford tend to leave it as long as possible when it comes to calling off a meeting! In fairness to them they usually like give the meeting every chance of running and when it doesn’t work out you end up with a very late call off of course!
  19. Maybe because it rather suited them for the meeting to be postponed so they can have a full team next week?
  20. I am glad you can see some improvements. I certainly agree Speedway has multiple problems but as I said previously I see little evidence that PM is making things better not that I would envy him that task!
  21. The whole situation is clearly ridiculous but I think Phil Morris is pretty untouchable so I would expect we'll simply just carry on with more of the same to come in future. Disappointing though as I like many others thought Phil might make a bit of a difference and avoid the sort of nonsense that we have recently witnessed. Talking of Phil, did anyone ever hear anything further about the mystery new Speedway track that he referred to during the Brandon Stadium planning enquiry? Was there anything in it or was it just a load of guff?
  22. Looks like Pi000tr has called it a day!
