  1. I don't see that as charm unfortunately. I see it as everything that is wrong with speedway. It's amateur. The racing was awful. I wouldn't go back there if I lived across the street and it was free
  2. Haha your a smart one aren't you? Too clever for your own good but certainly not for me. Worral swapped machinery after that first race he wasn't nearly quick enough. That is why he was passed left right and centre. Do you have any common sense? And do you know what a tv is you pedantic tool
  3. Absolutely horrific track. Too soft. Too grippy. BV lads scrambling all night trying to find set ups. Follow the leader racing. Outside of the speedway it's just as bad. Run down heap of a stadium. I've seen better facilities in non league football.
  4. I'm comparing. I'd already said he had made progress, there is no need to counter argue with that because I'd said it already. I'll spell it out for you. Max will never make it. It's that simple
  5. Coming down for this. Don't know much about national league speedway but I think a top 3 of Payne/Bewley and Smith is good? Bickley as well at reserve will have a day trip. Not been to stoke since the PL days!
  6. BWD without any question of doubt strengthens Poole. Don't let their 2 resident Muppet fans on here tell you otherwise. I fancy rye saying that. Poole are riding without a number 1 currently, KK still hasn't picked his dummy up.
  7. I was sat literally dead level with the start finish line, 3 rows up. Justin won. In fact I thought it was pretty clear It was like Tuesday at Wolves. Few passes here and there, 1 good race. Close score line. That's enough for 8 out of 10 tracks. Not for the NSS it isnt. The track rides differently when there is moisture in it. Dry and slick, it's the best in the world.
  8. It was too grippy Phil. You can see by the colour of the shale. It's down to the weather, I know it didn't rain today but it was damp, there was a lot of moisture in the air. As soon as I walked out to the track I knew it would mostly be follow the leader. Called it straight away. Actually when I say grippy I mean just slightly damp. Was same against wolves. When moisture gets into the material there only seems to be 1 race line. Times were saw as usual. Not really. RR gave 4 points. MPT made them stronger. Both regular 1 to 7s would have been easy home win
  9. Not the greatest meeting by NSS standards. A scattering of passes here and there but we have come to expect a lot better. This BV team doesn't know when it's beaten. There is a character about it that you don't often see in speedway. A great set of lads who get along with each other. When someone has a bad meeting, somebody else steps up 3 consecutive maximums from 3 different people shows you the character and strength in this team. Just a shout out for max as well. He's been much better in the last 3 meetings. Not sure if it was mechanical but really critical we've got him firing now. Got such a cool style on the motorbike. Not sure if it's me bit he reminds me a lot of Chris holder
  10. I have thought about that. But, this teams biggest asset is it's character and it's togetherness. All the averages in the world will not change that. I'd normally say bollocks to that theory but I think we need to keep this team together.
  11. Which then becomes dangerous. You'll piss off every speedway rider on the planet. These bikes are volatile in the change over from low to high revs since the introduction of the new silencer. It's not about throttle control anymore it's about safety. Standardised equipment to suit the UK will not work because speedway is an international sport and unfortunately big tracks suit the new machines much much better. That means Poland btw. The NSS is absolutely perfect for the modern speedway bike. Many tracks in Poland and Sweden are the same.
  12. Having thought about it I fancy Leicester for a point here. Bates/King/Nilsson and MPT will score 40 between them. Gomolski being Polish will enjoy it I'm sure
  13. Houugard is in the same Danish meeting yet Somerset have booked Kurtz. I'm thinking BV have chosen RR now
  14. Clegg hasn't progressed enough though. I'm not going to argue that he hasn't progressed because the numbers suggest otherwise, but compare him to Steve Worrall for example over the same time period. It's not even a contest. 2 solid changes for wolves, now a certain play off team although I still don't think they will travel particularly well
  15. Watt has been absolutely terrible for absolutely ages! Whoever thinks that wells doesn't improve rye (And there are 1 or 2) haven't been paying attention! And I see Starman is along with a solid contender for most irrelevant post of the year!
  16. Can't remember specifically I think it was worral
  17. It's daft that Leicester get a facility because there 2nd string is a D/U but BV don't because KB only does the top league! Who the hell thought that one up?! These meetings are always dangerous.
  18. I'd agree with that. Along with too much grip. I'd implore anyone to buy that DVD. Bias aside, and I genuinely mean that, it's the best speedway meeting I've ever seen. It'll get overlooked because it was a glorified friendly. Seriously. Spend the money and buy the DVD
  19. That's a super post and exactly how I see it. I think some wolves fans are struggling to accept it. That meeting on Monday was dull. There were 2 good races, one excellent outside pass from Howarth and some first bend first lap passes because of mistakes, they were not genuine passes.
  20. You do but that skill is getting harder and harder since the new silencers came in. That is basically what I'm basing my argument around. A really good example on Monday was the difference between Bewley and Smith. Bewley looked as though he'd been riding the thing for years, Smith couldn't turn the bike when the track was grippy at the start. As a motorcyclist you have to be a really good one to make Wolves work. Even Lindgren had issues at the start. I just think with the new silencers and the quality of riders in the league, that if will be difficult to see the quality of racing we once did at Monmore
  21. It also sounded like another gate and go meeting. I was very vocal about the quality of racing I watched at Wolves on Monday which was very poor. I don't blame Wolves for that because the prep is always excellent, its just a small track that requires a lot of technical ability which is so tough on the modern bikes. As a consequence it gives a huge home advantage and any passing is generally from a mistake. KL on the other hand have no excuse. It's a beautifully shaped, well banked purpose built speedway track. I've watched some brilliant racing from the AFA over the years. Now it's just too grippy. The same thing happened at the NSS in the SWC race off and it just became a horsepower show. As a lauded track man buster should have the answer. Slicken it off
  22. Not talking about star riders. Track prep is easy, but too many get it wrong. I'm talking about the size of tracks, that's where I'd build differently. The bikes now are volatile under low revs and small tracks are very challenging. As a BV I endured many years of piss taking on this very forum about our old stadium/team/Track etc etc. I guess what comes around goes around, it's not personal Steve 👍 Spot on. Get your wheels out of line on the thing and you are toast. It's so easy to lose speed but equally as easy to gain it. That's what makes the track as good as it is. It's not all about horsepower, that will fast become a misconception
  23. If you were to keep all teams as they are now, then it's a Poole/BV final. But of course it never stays the same and teams will strengthen. I can see pretty much every other team making changes. Don't let facts get in the way of a biased viewpoint!
  24. He's stepping up this year so far craig. Hopefully he deliver over the season to get him a team abroad
