That equals 900. 300 x 3. The back straight holds around 1000, it was pretty much full. I know this because I was stood in it. Let's say 600 just to be really safe. The pc suite, which you can't see on the TV, had about 200 in. I know this because I know someone who was dining in it. He told me all about it. To summise. 900+600+200 equals 1700. Basic arithmetic. Average attendances is only 1 indicator though and is driven entirely by the size of stadia, which makes it unfair. The euro index is the best measure, it looks at generated revenues, the clubs individual wealth, and many other things. That's a true measure of a clubs size. If Man City had a stadium that held 70 plus k they would fill. The stadium will be getting another expansion very soon taking it over the 63k barrier. Both Manchester clubs are monsters and tapping into that market place will be very challenging for BV.

I tell a lie, city have actually dropped to 6 in the latest ranking. However they are now the top pl club. Biggest club in the prem. Simple as that.

Man City are now 4th on the euro index. Totally different debate but in the UK they are 2nd only behind utd. They sell out every game, some don't turn up but that's down to the tourist element in the fan base which is a by product of the clubs rapid growth and success.

What people need to remember is that the NSS holds around 4.5k. No club in the UK averages even half that amount so the place will always look a bit empty. It's basic common sense. Just because you see empty seats doesn't automatically mean it's a poor crowd. It's the biggest stadium in the UK.

And BV have 2 within 1 mile. Arguably the 2 biggest clubs in the UK. Pooles dynamic is totally different and I would argue its much easier for you to get a a steady fan base, especially when you've had the same race night for donkeys years. BV have suffered massive trauma moving to a Monday. We've lost about 600 off our regular crowds.

They are gimmes. Take the hit and fill the place. A full stadium on a TV is a big sell.

Poole has a catchment. There is no other major sport in the town. Manchester is bigger but its dominated by other sports so all it means is there are more people who don't want to go to the speedway. Tapping into that market share is hard. Their money is already spent. Like I said earlier, speedway just doesn't have the pull. That said, on a Friday we were getting over 2k regular and that is amongst the highest in the league. The fixed race night has hurt us.

All TV meetings should be £10. The general pricing structure is okay imo, there are cheaper standing areas which naturally fill before the grandstand. The prices are pretty competitive

Local advertisement is irrelevant in the digital age. Social media is massive and the club are all over that. Speedway just doesn't have a market place and even less so on a Wednesday. Had that meeting been a Friday and not on the TV we'd have broke 2k easily and that is far from a shabby crowd. Dont be fooled by the stadium its massive and can look empty when there is a crowd much the same as many other tracks.
